I will be in WDW for two weeks, and have a car. a dear friend s flying in on US air and I have to pick him up....When I had to pickup my daughter last year, she got very lost and I had to circle around for an hour before I found her....is there an easy pick up area wher I can tell him to wait so I can just drive up and get him....he isn't going to baggage claim since we are bringing his baggage with us when we drive down...HELP.

I would use express parking for the terminal they are arriving at (A or B). I recall it costs about $2 for 30 minutes and lets you walk right in and meet them. I travel almost weekly through airports so I know how challenging it can be to find someone!

Will he be staying with you at a Disney resort? If so just have him take the DME bus to the resort. The bus is free and only available to folks staying on property and his name has to be on your room reservation.

There seem to be a lot of cheap short-term solutions. The Express lot takes only EZPass/SunPass, no cash. But the other garages look very doable.
I know my ds parked someplace close to level 2..baggage claim..when he picked me up. I doubt he spent much..he's sort of cheap!!

I would tell him to go to the ticket counter and exit there to the curb (level 3) You follow the signs for Terminal B and then follow the sign for arrivals. That will take you to the arrivals curb for the various airlines. I believe USAirways is the last one.

Thanks for the replies...i think i will park and go find him! !!!!

Be sure to have his flight information with you- you can also (for many airlines) get automatic notifications via text or email. of flight status if you sign up on their website.

And (assuming you both have cell phones) take his number- it will help immensely!

When I meet people at MCO I wait in the cell phone lot and have them call me with the door number they are at. My wife always calls from Southwest door number 12. When you walk out of baggage claim look up and there is a number lit up overhead.

In April DW and I met a competitive Acro team that had flown in from Lithuania who were terribly lost looking for their shuttle to their destination in Miami!

They were on the "A" side and the shuttle was on the "B" side but all it listed was Pillar 12 as the pickup location.

we did manage to connect them to their shuttle though -- but i always felt that MCO was one of the most simple airports i have ever flown into or out of.

One Terminal, A side B Side clearly marked -- but so many people have issues there!

Oops!

Florida has another in-state toll system called E-pass which is honored at practically all locations that Sunpass is honored.

Out of state EZ-pass is not accepted.

Alternating sections of the curb outside the terminal are set aside for private cars, buses, shuttles, taxis, etc. You may not drive in and stop in, say, the taxi area, rather your party must be waiting at a private car area for you to stop and pick them up.

MCO has a "cell phone lot" south of the main terminal building. See http://www.orlandoairports.net/ops/parking.htm#cellphone for the location and details.

Arrive at the cell phone lot around the time flight supposed to land and wait in the cell phone lot (for free).

When your friend retrieves his bags from baggage claim, he should step out the door on the baggage claim level and call you with the "terminal" (side A or B) and the door number.

Drive to the arrival level for that terminal and look for the large numbers on the exterior of the terminal building corresponding to the door numbers. Pull up to the curb. Load your friend. You're on your way!

Such a "private curbside pick-up" is much faster and easier (and cheaper) than parking in short-term parking and having to find each other in the huge terminal building.
