McManus Family Vacation - GF Day 8

Saturday 8/3: I awoke to the sounds of Casey crying. She was sad because we were heading home today. A sure sign that our trip had been a success. At breakfast, we decided that Jim would take the kids down to the pool and I would finish the last minute packing. As soon as I was done, we switched off and Jim took care of checking us out and having the luggage stowed. We let the kids swim until noon and then it was time to change, have some lunch and head back to the airport.

Okay, so here was the big disappointment for me. We always end our trips by visiting DTD. For those others who do this, you know! Last minute shopping, snacks for the plane ride home.... This year I got out voted and everyone wanted to go to House of Blues for lunch. It just wasn't the same.

Observations and Reviews: I'm really surprised by the amount of time that we spent in MK. I guess it was because of staying at a monorail hotel, but we found ourselves there at some point almost everyday. I'm glad that we got to enjoy the GF so much. The kids loved the new pool area and we happily worked that into our itinerary at least once a day. Our stay at the GF was amazing. We were truly treated like guests and loved every minute of it. We saw some familiar CM faces and got to know some new ones. Decided that 7 days is not enough time and next trip, we'll plan on 10 days!

Thanks to the board for all their help and insight with planning my trip. It was perfect.

the final day is always the hardest...I know where casey is coming from....BUT my hubby and I loved House of Blues....my most favorite was shrimp Po boys.....delicious.....yummy......thanks so much for your reports.....they were great

Thanks for posting your trip report. I am glad you enjoyed yourselves so much! Hey I am a big kid at heart myself as I usually cry when we leave, too. I hope to stay at GF in Feb of 2003, so it was nice to hear that you enjoyed your whole stay there without any problems. Thanks for sharing.
