Hey Everyone,

When we were in WDW, we quickly realized the the McDonalds in the world was way overpriced compared to the regular ones outside the world area. I know that the Mcdonalds across from DLR doesn't have a dollar menu, but are their prices also inflated? Trying to plan for meals and McDonalds seems like a cheap bet.

Thanks!

Actually, they do have a dollar menu. It's hiding behind a refridgerator.. or it was.. they are in the middle of a refurb according to some recent pics by Darkbeer (on another DL fan web site).

Slightly higher in price than my local McDonald's (but all of them in CA are higher than in MN) , but not terribly inflated.
If you can, get one of thos McDonald treat books. They cost $1 and have coupons for free fries, free drink, free cone, etc. Came in handy when walking back and forth to the Hojo's to pick up a snack or drink.

woohoo.. dollar menu now visible!

We went there 3 times last year (yes, I'm slightly ashamed, but we were tired and night and the kids were hungry!). The prices were comparable to our local prices, but I live on an island in Alaska. EVERYTHING is more expensive here. So if you live somewhere normal ;) you are likely to find it more expensive. It was still cheaper than eating most other places and it was actually a pretty nice McDonalds. Refillable Ice-Teas....ah.

Hope you have a great trip. :)

I thought their prices were very similar to our local McDonalds.

They did have some items we don't have here in my area : The Angus Burger, and a large Parfait (to name a couple).

I think the Big Mac meal was around $6, which is close to what it is here.

When we ate there, I don't remember the prices being inflated. If they were higher than my local McDonalds, it wasn't by enough to make me notice.:)

prices are comparable but the menu selections are not as varied. I know they have all the popular stuff but there was some chicken thing I wanted that they didn't have. Don't remember what now, so I ended up with a double cheeseburger instead. LOL

We went there for breakfast one morning and then for dinner on the way back to the hotel one night and I remember being thankful that the prices were similar to the McD's we have here at home and thinking what a rip off IHOP was because the increase in price was disgusting! and the food and service was TERRIBLE! I wish I had done more research before I went!

thanks everyone! I know DH will be thrilled. Im not a huge fan of fast food, but i am a huge fan of cheap! since we're not staying across the street, i don't know how often we'll go here, but when its a choice between a $5 meal with fries and a drink or a $12 meal...without the side and drink, I think we DISers know what to do!

Thanks for the info and the pics!!!:thumbsup2

Yes, the prices are higher than they are at home, but the food there is WAY cheaper than in DL. We stopped by a couple of times for breakfast since it was on the way to DL from Hojos and just got it to go and ate it as we waited for the park to open. The prices were like .30-.40 more per item, not much more.

Oh and there is also a taco bell over the highway ( I think its on Ball ) that we hit a time or two, in the same little spot that also has starbucks and a gas station... :cool1:

oh yeah, avoid the IHOP at all costs. And that weird buffet place that is at the crosswalk (Capn kid??). It gave me the heebe jeebes.

Denny's is not over inflated price, hit or miss on service sometimes..busy busy! Good for late nights before going back to the hotel.

If you want GOOD food for a tiny bit more cost.. head to Mimi's. YUM! They do "take out" orders and bundle it up nicely with napkins, plastic silverware, and several selections from the bread basket.. mmmm carrot raisin nut bread!

I pick up a bowl of corn chowder and happily slurp with my tired feet tucked in bed, saving the carrot bread (and a pat of butter) for breakfast.:thumbsup2

Just go down a couple blocks to the local In-n-out. Alot better and cheaper than Mcdonalds. Probably more healthy as well in the long run.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

YUM!

That is one place I truly miss.

Ther's one near the character outlet.. cheap souvies and cheap lunch :thumbsup2 (we take the city bus if no car rented .. yes you will survive with the locals)

I never noticed the prices being higher than any of the other MickeyD's around here.

That's not much of a dollar menu. Unless the photo missed something, the only items on it are apple pies and cookies. Missing are small fries and soft drinks, sundaes, and chicken sandwiches. The double cheeseburger used to be on it, but was replaced by a "McDouble" at my nearest location.

Does anyone know how long it would take to walk from PP to this McDonalds?

I would hazard a guess that it would take about 12-15 minutes at a "normal" pace, without children, maybe twenty.

I wouldn't think it would be worth the walk, unless you were already in the park, and just left out the main entrance and then went back into the park, etc. Probalby about 10 minutes out of the park entrance.

I agree that it wouldn't make alot of sense to make this walk. (unless you're really jonesing for some McDs)....McDs is about as far from the DL / DCA front gate as the Paradise Pier is....but in the opposite direction. (6-8 min....+ another 7-9 min.)

& to the OP....if like us you're stopping in prior to MM or Gen. Adm. opening...be prepared for a 5-15 min. line & schedule accordingly. I would leave the room 10 min. ahead of the rest of the family & place the order & the McBreakfasts were ready when they rolled in 10 min. later. (we were staying at the Fairfield next door).
