McDonalds is disgusting

The McDonald's near my house is great but I rarely go there. they just remodeled it to look like a mountian lodge including center stone fireplace and all. If we're going to spend the money on food out, I want it to taste good and we usually go for steak or something. But I did stop at one on the way home from vacation when we had the dogs and the cars loaded to the top cuz we didn't have time to go sit down and eat in a real resteraunt.

You might want to adjust your title and original post then. It sounds like you are bashing McD's in general, not just the one you went to.

Also still curious on what kind of logic goes into still buying food for his step-son there given the description in his OP.

I haven't eaten food from McDonalds in about 4 years. Luckily my DS doesn't like it so we really never go. I have been interested in their Asian salad and keep thinking I should try it, but just haven't yet.

I really like the Asian salad. It's nice to be able to get something relatively healthy when I'm in a hurry. They sell the dressing that's on it in the grocery store. It's made by Newman's Own.

I'm with you, OP. We don't do McDonald's at all. I can't remember the last time I went there (as a youngster). Dh hasn't been to one since he was a teen. My son has never eaten there, and I have no plans to take him in the future. I did have a few people tell me what a horrible mother I was for not letting my child attend McDonald's birthday parties. I was still pregnant when they said this, and nobody I know would HAVE a McDonald's birthday party, anyway! It's definitely not the "in" thing here.:lmao:

They just remodeled the closest McDonalds to my house - it looks almost like a Starbucks, with high cocktail tables and dark wood. VERY upscale looking for a fast food place! The place is always clean as well.

I actually think the addition of McDonalds menu items such as their salads, wraps, etc over the past few years has made the menu a lot better as well. I often get a Fruit and Walnut salad when I am out and want something relatively healthy to eat.

Oh man, I am feeling honest tonight...I had DDs bday party at McDonalds!! The one by us is clean and has a nice indoor playground (no ball pit). The kids loved it and we have attended a few parties there too.

I dont think you are horrible though for not letting your son go there. I just think it is funny that although it is not the "in" thing here, it is acceptable to have a party there.

McDonalds has gone so down hill from where it started back in the 50's. I don't know why but I guess know days you cannot run a business without changing the way things work. I don't understand why quality has to slip though.:confused3

I haven't tried the Asian salad, but I just had the Southwestern salad with grilled chicken at our McDonald's tonight. I thought it was really good! I love the Newman's Own dressing. I really like the Fruit & Walnut salad as well, but now it is only served in a "snack size" instead of the bigger size that they used to have. I don't know when they changed that.

Our McDonald's has changed ownership within the last few years, and it has been remodeled. It looks very nice and is kept clean.

I dunno. Is the stepchild redheaded?

I really think the title to your thread is unfair. Maybe it should say that your particular McDonald's is disgusting. The ones near my home are not disgusting. In fact, they are very nice. We have some that look like upscale restaurants. Not only do they serve regular McDonald's food, they also have chefs who cook pasta, omletes and other food to order. Sorry, but I'm not big on generalizations.

I love Mcdonald's and every single one i've been to has never been anywhere near what you are talking about. All of the ones near me are super clean and run very well!

Me too. (except for the well run part, the one closest to my house seems to go through managers like crazy)

I have no problems with fast food. I think as long as it's not an everyday meal it is OK.

I went to someone's house in California once. The house was disgusting. This means that all houses in California are disgusting. Ewww.

(wink)
