McDonalds in Epcot, did you know this!!?

Epcot--Just before Canada when coming from Mexico.
MK--just a fry cart between Adventureland and Frontierland
AK--Donald's breakfastasaurus changes over to a very big McD's for lunch until closing
DTD-- Marketplace behind the Lego store
Plus the one near Blizzard Beach.

I had no idea about the one in AK! DTD I did know, of course, as well as the one near the All Stars resorts.

This really depresses me. McDonalds is the spawn of the devil. Once in a blue moon is fine but WAY too many people (especially kids) eat this stuff all the time. My neice & nephew are making their first trip to the World in Feb and I am scheduling them. I am keeping him away from McDonalds because he needs to eat REAL food. I love my sister but.......

Its late, need to get to bed and let myself calm down but WHY does Mickey D's have to go into EVERY park.

I agree, but think about it...Disney put them there....they are getting big bucks from McDonalds...

so the real culprit is Disney not Mcdonalds...they asked and Disney bit

Well, there actually is no "culprit". There's nothing wrong with having those outlets there. Some people like them. Those of us who don't can pass them by. No harm; no foul.

My DS will be thrilled! While we eat CS's around the world, he can have McDs.

Thanks OP!! That is awesome! I didn't see it when we went in July but I will be looking for it in January!

I was worried because of the new kids menu and DD5 penchant for not eating "gross food" (whatever she decides she doesn't like) but if there's a Mickey D's then I know she will eat something. Be it a cheeseburger or nuggets.

I know I'd rather spend one CS meal credit at McD's than on the nasty Disney kids meals!!

The reason you only saw DDP marked next to the drinks and fries as the DDP box logo indicates snacks.

I was thinking that, but wasn't sure 2angels, that the symbol was only on snack items. Thanks for clarifying that.

My dh discovered another McD's fry cart in Fantasyland. He said it's beside the icecream near Snow White's Scary Adventure.

Considering how so many people are finding the new kids menus to be very gross this is really a great thing!!! I would rather give my children MC D's over nasty cold chicken and soggy sweet potatos. JMHO

I guess I should explain myself better. I love the world because of it's unique restaurants and that there were no chains like Applebees, Benigans, etc.....
(well the exception being Rainforest).. I enjoyed not seeing a fast food restaurant until I returned home. It was like an escape.

To see it know kind of demeans the parks in a way.

It is similar to what they have done to the NJ shore. Up until 5 yrs ago it was all privately owned restaurants now all you see are chain restaurants.

It drives me crazy..

So as much as I enjoy a french fry from Mickey Dee's I prefer it not be in WDW or for that matter any entertainment park.
But this is just my opinion

This month's Atlantic Monthly magazine had a great article related to the subject of chains, which is somewhat related to this thread. This is some of what it discussed:
Virginia Postrel said:
Chains do more than bargain down prices from suppliers or divide fixed costs across a lot of units. They rapidly spread economic discovery—the scarce and costly knowledge of what retail concepts and operational innovations actually work.

Chains make a large range of choices available in more places. They increase local variety, even as they reduce the differences from place to place.

The contempt for chains represents a brand-obsessed view of place...
While not directly related to theme parks, the article does make good points about how we often impose expectations, in the interest of aesthetics, that don't necessarily serve us well.

Ok, with the new changes with the child/adult credit situation, what would this meal "cost" you, a child credit or an adult credit? I would love to get this for my ds, but I want it to count for his meal. There is no "kid's menu" here, so what do you think, kid's or adult credit?

After watching the documentary "Super Size" me about 12 months ago I have not so much as put a fry in my mouth much less give it to my child. I wont eat something that does not grow mold or decompose outside of the body; its not natural for food (especially bread, meat and fries) to take an extremely significant time to decompose even with added perservativies. I dont know what they put in the stuff but the fries stay golden yellow even after weeks!

I AGREE!!! I saw the same documentary, of course I've never liked fast food anyways, at least not since I worked at one as a teenager. When my manager told me to pick that burger up off the nasty, dirt covered floor and throw it back on the grill to kill any germs, I knew my days of eating at those places was OVER! I know they arent ALL like that, but I dont know which ones are, and which arent, so I just avoid ALL of them.
I also know I gained a LOT of weight at those places when I worked there, my face stayed greasy and I got zits, and the smell of that grease soaks into your clothes, skin, etc. You couldnt bathe it off, scrub it off, it was just NASTY.
When I left I lost the weight, my face cleared back up, and I didnt stink anymore. Just MY personal experiences.
My wife and son like fast food occasionally, Id rather go without.

LOL!!! I agree, believe me, but my kids would think they were in heaven if they got McDonalds while at Disney!

Now if they could just add a big screen tv like they have at the resort food courts, my dd would think she hit the trifecta!

Seriously, thanks for the tip. Getting the kids something special for lunch as we enter World Showcase might allow us adults the chance to actually enjoy some snacks around the world instead of fighting 2 hungry kids every step of the way. As I'm sure you know, according to section 3.2 of the "Kids' Code," the suggestion of trying unfamiliar foods is required to be met with disgust and horror. The level of disgust is directly proportional to their level of hunger. Therefore, if they have a nice, thick layer of McGrease coating their little stomachs, I might finally have a chance to try a kringla or pralineige. And they might even be willing to take a bite and chance actually liking the new and scary food.

THAT explains it!!!!! I was so confused! I remember eating at the McDonalds there when dd was tiny tiny tiny shortly after it opened, and then I couldnt' figure out where the McDonalds went when we went back! LOL

I have worked in MANY restaurants, in 4 different states, in all areas from server, to cook, to manager, to bartender. Let me assure you that things like that can happen anywhere from fast food to fine dining. I do understand that things like that are more likely to happen in a fast food because of (usually) lower skill level and lower pay. If you truly are worried about something like that, you might want to consider never eating in a restaurant ever!! :confused3

I see nothing wrong with giving kids some french fries if that will make them happy. Are the adults who are getting so worked up about it only eating the veggie plate for dinner with fruit for dessert??

You know a tablespoon of ranch has almost as much fat as a Big Mac.
