McDonalds going Low Carb?!

McDonalds is jumping on the low carb bandwagon.. they will be posting signs detailing their low carb options (according to the WB news at 10). Their choices are really just the regular offerings, minus the buns and hash browns as far as I can tell. Still it is a start!

Excellent! I'm glad to see that the fast food places are paying attention and beginning to offer low carb menu items.

I've been ordering that way for months, usually with no problem. Every once in a while I get someone who can't seem to comprehend no bread. Maybe this will make it a bit easier.

I have learned to keep plastic knives and forks in the car. Nothing like getting a bunless burger with no utensils.

I ordered a double whopper at Burger King the other day, without the bun. The kid working said "NO BUN?? How are they supposed to put it together??" He was so visibly shaken by my request, that I told him to just forget it, I would take the bun off myself.

Then I asked him if I was the only person he's ever had, asking for the burger without the bun. He said yes, and he looked at me like I was crazy. I told him I was on a low-carb diet, and he asked "a low-what diet?". nevermind.

I don't even ask for "no bun" anymore. And to keep the cheese from sticking to the bread, I order a cheeseburger with lettuce only, which acts like a barrier so it doesn't stick!

Hey! I haven't started my low carb but, have been watching out. I live in North Carolina and Hardee's(a fast food chain here) has a low carb burger that they wrap up in romaine lettuce so, then you don't need the bun. This is the first time I have seen anything like that from a fast food place.

You guys are rookies! I learned a long time ago how to push the bun back and just eat the burger..while driving!

I always just take the burger off of the bun. If you special order anything at our Wendy's, the whole order gets messed up. I don't even try anymore...
