McDonald's drive thru - are you really going to hand me that?

Just left the the McD drive thru. Ordered happy meal, chocolate milk, and large iced tea.

What would I do? If I had ordered those exact items, and the woman in the car only opened the main bag, (and not the actual Happy Meal Box), then I would have just taken the food, and not bothered to ask for new stuff.

A little side note: I'd be more concerned with the employees handling my food, then a stranger who had it for a few seconds. (I worked in fast food....trust me. They may have health/safety regulations, but those are not followed closely when you employee a bunch of teenagers who have little management overlooking!) :thumbsup2

Let me side with those who say "not a big deal". If the customer in front of you had opened and unwrapped the food (or tasted the fries like a PP commented on), I could see the problem.

Sorry, just don't get the "it's gross" comments. How is handling the outside of a cup (or bag) any different than pressing a door handle or pushing a grocery cart? Do any of you not eat pizza in a group setting? You don't know who's breathed on the pizza much less touched it to separate their piece?

I can appreciate the OP's problem with the employee lying. THAT would make me upset too.

I had no idea it was a health code violation, but it still wouldnt bother me. Every day we touch a million things that have germs on it.

I would be far more concerned about what the employee did to your drink once you argued and made her give you a knew one. I'm guessing you were safer with potential germs from the car in front of you. :scared1:

:scared1: That was my first thought too. I would have taken my chances with the original, and I'm a bit of a germaphobe myself.
