McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, etc

Are there any fast food restuarants such as McDonalds, Burger King,etc walking distance from Downtown Disney? I'm staying at the AoA, Cars in August. I'm not renting a car this time around and have a picky eater, 6 year old. I know the Disney bus takes you back and forth from Downtown Disney, so I thought maybe in that area there were some fast food places. I know there's a food mart in the AoA Resort, but just wanted other options. Any suggestions?

The McD's at DTD closed a bit back and a new place opened in its place.

There really isn't much in the way of non-Disney fast food on property. If you tell us what your picky eater likes to eat, maybe we can point you in the direction of acceptable Disney food.

It depends what you consider walking distance. There are all kinds of restaurants if you walk past the DTD hotels. Most people probably wouldn't bother walking that far with all the closer Disney options, but if you don't mind going for a 15 min walk there are alot of resturants just beyond WDW property. I'm not familiar with the street names, but we had to take a cab to Walgreens to get a prescription last time and I remember seeing about 50 different restaurants just off of property.

Most of what you can get at the fast food places you mention is easily available in most kids meals on property. Chicken nuggets, hot dogs, hamburgers, Mac & Cheese, fries, etc...
AAMOF, there are a lot of us who wish the kids meals were LESS like fast food! LOL!
Unless your children require the "label" of a certain place, you don't need to go trekking off site.

1) The closest fast-food-burger-joint is about 1-mile form DTD.
2) It is in the Crossroads Shopping Center.
3) If you REALLY need a fix, I guess it is walkable.

We had a very picky eater last year. There were plenty of choices on the child's menus ala McD's.

You didnt mention pizza but several pizza places in the area will deliver to the resorts also.

Thank you all for your input! Your right, most of the kids menu have what he eats..hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets..etc. As I mentioned, we will be going in Aug and with the heat, I don't intend on walking more than need be. The Parks will be more than enough.
