If you want burgers check out Beach's and Cream or for wraps, etc. the Artists Pallette at Saratoga Springs. Both are reasonable and much better than Mickey D's. You can still get your Mickey D fix at the 24 hr McDonalds at the Crossroads.
Finally I still think the McDonald's on the way to AK near Wide World of Sports is open.

If you call $8.99 for a chese burger reasonable
There is also the fact that the Disney guide lists the price as $15 per per person.
I am not sure what kind of budget most of the people on this board are on but that is way out of our price range compared to $6.65 for a meal at McDonalds.
I guess if they served Beer they would have more people from this board frequenting the establishment since that is what FW is all about to some
There is a Pollo Campero on the way to/from work; but, I've never stopped there. They aren't open in the morning and it's another 45 minutes home from there. Maybe I'll take a field trip this weekend.
Here is a link to their menu. The "bowls" look yummy.
Stopped by Pollo Campero on the way home from REI on Saturday. I ordered the "bowl" for $5.99 with drink. The base was a "spanish" rice. It was topped with pinto beans, pico de gallo, a cilantro/onion mixture and some room temperature grilled chicken chunks. I tried two sauces from the fixings bar, neither of which I cared for. I had hoped the bowl would be full of flavors; but, it was ordinary. While it was enough for me, I don't think a person with a big appetite would be satisfied.
My dining partner ordered the single fried chicken breast meal. It came with one side, choice of dinner roll or tortilla and a drink. She compared the chicken to KFC, just with different spices. Her mashed potatoes tasted and had the consistency home made. She added a side of cole slaw which she also thought tasted home made. She liked her meal better than I liked mine.
If/when I go back, I might try the yucca fries (made from the yucca plant) and the plantains.
As the Mom of a picky child (who apparently spared the rod , lol), I am glad to hear that it is closing.
I went in there last year thinking that I would get a quick hit of a cheap meal for my very well behaved autistic daughter and the rest of the family. The place was filthy and the food was even more gross than usual.
We got our stuff to go so that we could eat it on the bus back to the Fort since we were all so tired. I couldn't eat it. My daughter barely nibbled at it. We wound up throwing it away when we got back to the cabin. While it was cheap, it definitely was not a bargain. Earl of Sandwich is so much better.
Plus, why eat soggy food at MickeyD's when you can go straight for dessert at Girhedelli's???
Last March we did a spur of the moment trip to DD on our last nite of our trip, having no reservations and every resturant had long wait times we ended up at McDonalds, ironically that was our last meal in Disney with our son who passed away in July, I feel sad that it will no longer be there when we go back this coming November.....Never heard of the new resturant that is replaceing McDonalds
We're sorry to hear about the loss of your son. We also lost our Colton (DS33mo) at FW in Dec 2008, so our visits are now kinda bittersweet. But we do go back. With some reflective moments, we do enjoy our time there.

Couldn't you just bring your own food and prepare that if you want to save money? The price difference between a meal at a Disney area McDonald's and the next cheapest option is going to be negligible for most. I, for one, am glad to see them closing just so we start to see more unique food options at WDW (I know the replacement is still a chain, but it's not as prominent of a chain).
We allways eat at the MH but sometimes it is not possible to make the trip all the way back for lunch. That,s when we have to find something reasonable and try to stay within our budget.
With Beaches & Cream listed at $15 a person that,s over $60 for one meal
