Isn't recession a part of the business cycle? I know that the economy is a cycle, but I dunno where it's going.

Yes. If you study economics it's easier to understand. But the economy right now really isn't the President's fault, as much as people would LOVE to blame it all on him.

There's a commercial on a tv station in Atlanta that's on all the time.
It's like 'This is a public service announcement' and they're talking about how you can buy houses real cheap and stufff.

Even if you can buy those houses, people just walked right out of them. They're not in fit shape. These people my aunt and uncle know went to find a house in Florida, and most of them still had excrements still in the toilets.

So..when people are screaming 'OMG HE WANTS WAR" he knows what hes talking about, because this isnt a situation where we can use our words.

One of Sarah Palin's qualifications was 'being on the PTA'. And yes, the Republicans said that when they announced her. What the heck? PTA? That's just sad, and shows how they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for this woman.

McCain just screwed himself over with picking Palin as his VP...so many people are laughing at him now. It's so obvious he's desperate for votes, so he picks a female VP who has a Downs child, and hopes he'll get some sympathy votes. He's done.

Creationism is a primarily Christian belief. If you are going to have that, then you have to have other religions as well. I don't think that belongs in a science class, I think it would be better suited to a social studies class if it was going to be taught. It IS a part of history.

In my opinion, that would completely contradict the whole "separation of church and state" idea. That idea, I believe, is an important part of the religious freedom guaranteed to Americans by the First Amendment.
If creationism is taught in the classroom, that is basically teaching parts of Christianity to kids who's family could have totally different beliefs.

That's why I am for Obama in this election.
I was always for him, but after listening to his acceptance speech at the convention, he convinced me even more that he is the right man for the job.

OK here is my 2 cents (mind you I didn't real every single response, only skimmed)

I am an independent voter. Right now I plan on voting Obama, but my opinion can be swayed. I remember one of Obama's big flaws was his lack of knowledge about Foreign Policy....well his VP nominee clinched my vote. Biden knows A LOT about Foreign Policy, so that makes me like Obama more.

Obama has a strong plan for our Economy. He encourages tax cuts for the working class (unlike Bush's tax cuts for the WEALTHY...hmmmm). Obama plans on eliminating our need for Middle Eastern oil within 10 years, that is a beautiful goal and something I respect.

Some reasons why I probably won't vote McCain...

His age. I know age shouldn't be a big factor. However, if elected, he will probably be serving our country for the next 8 years. Had he picked a great VP nominee....maybe I would feel different. BUT, his VP (Palin) does not have the skills to run the country if he has an accident. His VP is week and looks like a plea for some female voters.

McCain has stated he will keeps troups in Iraq for over 100 years if necessary. Obviously an exaggeration, but he has the power to keep troups there and clearly has the will.

He made a statement about now even know the number of houses he owns. (I think the number is 7) Clearly he is wealthy, and probably basking in Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy. Do we really need another close-minded, doesn't-affect-me, republican president. NO its time for change.
