MB without invite

As anyone tested the bands without being invited? We have our bands, but so far have not been invited. Will I get there and we won't be able to use them?

I'm curious about this too. I did not receive an invitation to try out the Magic Bands. However, when I went on My Disney Experience I saw the option to "Customize Magic Bands", so I did. I was a bit surprised when they actually arrived today!
We're staying at Pop Century in 30 days, do you think we'll be able to use the Magic Bands with Fast Pass Plus and get our regular KTTW card to use with the old Fast Pass system?

I didn't get an email invitation to participate in FP+ until a day after I received my magic bands. As of I believe next week, all resorts will be online, so you should be fine.

Do we have to ask for KTTW cards when we get there or will they automatically give them to us to use as a backup since the Magic Bands are still in a "test phase"?

Everything I've read says people are still getting KTTW cards since it is still in testing. I'm planning on asking for them if they aren't given to us, I'm not too keen on wearing the MB, I thought it was a little uncomfortable when I tried it on.

I made a reservation yesterday for Art of Animation Resort in late November.

I immediately was able to customize my MagicBands as well as book FastPass+. There was no invite, I just immediately had access to it all within seconds of booking my stay.

The MagicBands should ship to me in 7 days.

I was told I would get MB on the phone, then went on MDE, customized it and got it within a couple days. The following week I got a letter in the mail inviting me to test. I think the bands ship when you customize, and the letters are just running behind.

This is exactly what happened for me, 2 days after the bands arrived I got the testing invite. Here we gooooo!

I never got an invitation. The MDE page changed one day and allowed me to do everything so I did it. Got the MBs, did FP+ stuff, enjoyed our trip. No invitation, ever.

We turned ours so the flatter RFID part was on the outside of our wristbones. Made it sit a lot better and was easier to tap on entry and FP+ poles.

What if you have a room only reservation and you're getting your tickets from UT? Do you still get magic bands?

Am I correct that magic bands are for the new reservation system for fastpasses?

We don't love wearing them either. DH's is hooked on a belt loop and mine attached to the strap of my bag. Those locations have proven pretty handy for rides, room charges & getting into room.
