With a full load, my front loading Maytag washer decided that it wasn't going to spin. This happened before. It was a lose connection. Why I would have another "lose" connection, who knows. Because of the electronics, I have a service contract with Maytag Service Plus. Today is Thursday. They have no repairman available until next Thursday. And all of this time, I thought the Magtag man was lonely. I guess not. I called a local appliance repair place that does work for Maytag Plus. They have availability tomorrow. All I have to do, according to them, is to phone Maytag and have them fax the info. THEY WON'T. The "job has been dispatched". I wouldn't mind paying for a visit and lose connection repair, however, if its not a lose wire and its a major part, I am stuck. Needless to say, I spent some time in the laundromat. Brought home wet towels, damp dried the rest and when the service contract is up, I may not renew or look for another company that actually has timely service.

Ugh, sorry about your trouble. I just started a thread about finding an extended warranty company. If you find a reliable one, please post.

Thanks and good luck,,,

They are "reliable" in that they will eventually show up. I want to find one that guarantees repair service in 48 hours. When you find one also, let me know.

All the Maytag repair people were busy with the dishwasher recall, until they ran out and had to back order the parts.

Maytag used to make quality products, but not any more. It's sad to see a good company destroy itself.

When we moved into our new house in 2004 my brand spanking new Maytag Top/Bottom dryer wouldn't start. I called the store we bought it from and said to call Maytag. Maytag could not get anyone to my home for 8 days (would have been 7 but 4th of July fell in that time). Mind you, I moved into the house with about 7 loads of laundry since who has time to do laundry when you are trying to pack!! Everynight I would do a load and spin it on max extract and send it home with MIL who was there for the week watching the baby and she dried it for me.
I crabbed every night about those stupid commercials of the bored Maytag guy!!!!!!!

Sorry about the Maytag Dawn. I know what you mean about service. We moved about 6 weeks ago and have had lots of dealings with service people.
Nearly every single one was a hassle. The people were all plenty nice, but incompetent. Good luck and try not to get too agitated.:lmao:

When my Maytag broke (halfway through a cycle), I called them up and told them what happened. The girl said, "Are you home now?" I said I was, it just happened.

"Would it be OK if he was there in 20 to 30 minutes?"

And he was here in 17 minutes.

I couldn't believe it and kept thinking I must have been dreaming. Never had such great service in my life.

I'm still knocking on wood about it. :)

The only time that ever happened to us was back in 1998 and DH was digging in the yard planting bushes after work. I was driving home like a mad woman to catch the season finale of "Friends." DH cuts right through the cable line! :faint: He stares at it in disbelief and looks at the road in disgust and a cable truck is driving down the street. He ran into the street, flagged it down, told the repairman what he had done and the guy got out and fixed it (for free, no less) and the cable was back on with 92 seconds to spare!!!!!!!!!!!!!
