My first attempt...so if I’m boring and rubbish please don’t be too harsh! :rotfl:

Cast

Me – (Rachel) Biggest Disney follower in the family. Loves everything Disney and favourites and Stitch and Tinker Bell.

Dad – (Dennis) Still crazy over everything Disney, hasn’t been for 12 years now, excited about going back. Loves Harry Potter too and is hoping the new land will be open.

Mum – (Jennifer) A Mickey Mouse fan. Loves him, most things she buys has the Fab 5 on it! Again, hasn’t been for 12 years. Is looking forward to seeing the Flower & Garden festival.

DBF – (Simon) 2nd trip to the World, favourite is Grumpy. Has a passion also for Toy Story’s Green Army man, chased them around DHS last trip! Roller coaster junkie also!

DB – (Christopher) Only little on his last trip to the World. Doesn’t remember much at all, will be like seeing it all over again 1st hand. Has vowed already that he’s not riding ToT!!

And here we are:

How it is so far....

We’ve had our trip booked since February 2009, it’s been a long time arriving, but well worth the wait. As I’ve mentioned above, both my parents and my brother haven’t been to WDW since 1998. There’s plenty they haven’t seen and done, so DBF and I are looking forward to showing them all the new rides and attractions that have been added, as we last went back in 2008.
We’re booked with Thomas Cook Signature flying with Virgin on the 10.30am flight from Manchester in May 2010. We’re there for 16 nights. We have pre-booked tickets for Disney, Universal, Discovery Cove and SeaWorld etc. We also have a rental car this time too, which my Dad has put me on the insurance for, so I’m going to give it a go at driving over there – very nervous! :scared1:

On arrival we’ll be checking into Disney’s All Star Sports. DBF & I loved it here last time, so we’re heading back there for some more over-the-top fun! I’ve requested Building 10 (Football) so I’m hopeful we’ll get placed there again.

The crazy part...

We arrive on a Thursday afternoon, as long as our flight is on time. As I mentioned, we’re there for 16 nights. Disney tickets last for 14 days, the problem: I can’t go to Disney on arrival! :faint: It’s going to be Saturday morning before I hit the Magic Kingdom! BUT, we do have other things planned, thankfully :goodvibes

Thursday evening’s plan is to head out to I-Drive to get any supplies we need and also try and keep awake by playing some Mini Golf. As of yet, we cannot decide between Pirate’s Cove and Tiki Island. (Any recommendations are welcome!) Then maybe hit Chuck-e-Cheese for some tea!

Friday, we’re booked in at Discovery Cove all day. DBF and I have done this previously and loved it. I’m hopeful that my family will feel the same.

Saturday, yes you’ve guessed it, an early breakfast with Lilo & Stitch at the Poly and then hop onto the monorail over to the MK! At this point, no one will be able to contain me; I’ll be bursting with happiness! :yay:

ADR’s...

We have already pre-booked some meals for whilst we’re there. We have a breakfast, as mentioned, with Lilo & Stich at the Poly, one over with Chef Mickey & Co at the Contemporary, an evening meal at Le Cellier in Epcot and the Fantasmic package eating at Hollywood & Vine.

Other bits...

We’re hoping to catch the space shuttle launch whilst there; it’s scheduled for May 14th. We’ll be keeping an eye on any changes, as we’d love to experience this again. DBF’s hoping to find some Affliction t-shirts whilst out there too. Oh and thanks to Claire (Pinky!) I’m now on the lookout for my very own Dooney & Burke Disney-themed bag! :lovestruc

Well I think that’s all for now folks, but I shall update with anything between now and our trip! Soooo excited!

Not boring or rubbish at all. A very good start if I may say so.

Sounds like your family are in for a good trip and ,as you said, because they haven't been there for so long it will be like everything is new.
Just one thought. As you have planned to go for a game of mini golf why not go and play one of the Disney ones. That way you could get your Disney fix a couple of days earlier :thumbsup2
having said that we have played both the ones you mentioned and enjoyed them each for their own reasons, but if I had to play one it would be Pirates Cove (mainly because its close to Bahama Breeze and Friendlys - 2 of our favourites. But then Tiki Island is just across the road from Dairy Queen. Oh decisions decisions)

Anyway - looking forward to seeing more of your plans and reading all about it when you get back

Thank-you for the nice comments :)

So we can play say, Winter Summerland without having to activate our Disney tickets? Cool, we'll certainly look into that :thumbsup2 Maybe something for the Friday evening after DC.

As long as you are paying and not using your Disney tickets then yes you can play anytime you want. :thumbsup2
