"Maybe We Should Go To Disney World Next Week" An Impromptu May DR *COMPLETE*

The taco al pastor looks so good! Right up my alley! Your dish from the smokehouse also caught my eye...I'm such a sucker for good soul food!

Mango pale ale??? Yummmm! You and I love our craft beers and mango sounds delish! How was that violet lemonade? I'm so intrigued by it. Did it taste like regular frozen lemonade?

I'm so glad to read you can get to so many booths in an evening, as we're going Nov 10th the last day of food and wine. Our plane arrives on he 9th at 4:30 ish but staying at WL and after getting to resort ect it seems like the 10th will be our only day. The soul food looks great to me as well as several others you enjoyed. Curious about the violet drink you had too so I'll be looking out for that one : ) As always enjoying your trip vicariously through your writings

Bad news, I'm afraid, I don't think they have the violet lemonade at the Food & Wine festival, I think it's only for Flower & Garden.

Be aware that there are far more booths at the Food & Wine Festival than Flower & Garden too so prepare to get your speed on ;)

The booth food looks scrumptious! My two Disney "bucket list" items...F & W and Flower & Garden....*le sigh* I will get there for those two events soon :goodvibes

Your pictures look wonderful and Trail's End breakfast has made it's way onto our 14-day Trip of Gluttony in June 2015. Thanks, girl :thumbsup2 :lmao: popcorn::

Awesome segment!!! Can't wait for the next one :3dglasses

That taco was amazing! They should add that one to the F&W menu. I love good bbq! There is a place about 30 minutes from me that makes THE BEST brisket sandwich EVER! Drool.

I need to find that beer here at home! We do love our craft beers. Have you had Harpoon's Big Squeeze yet? It is my new favorite! I guess I forgot to put my actual review of the lemonade. Oops. Gotta edit that. It was okay. I thought violet was the flavor, but I think it was only dyed violet. :confused3 It just tasted like regular lemonade to me.

Some of those were from 2 other days, but most of them were from that first night. You could still fit in quite a few booths at F&W though. And when you know you only have one day you're much more willing to really stuff yourself.

The lemonade was nothing special. Slightly disappointing. It tasted more like high fructose corn syrup than anything else.

I was thrilled to get to try the F&G booths this year! I never would have thought we would end up getting to do that this year. I hope they continue to add onto the F&G booths in the future.

Yay for Trail's End! It is ridiculously awesome! I hope you love it there too.

Our next trip is june 2015...I cant wait we are soooo going to do the food booths..

They only have food booths during the Flower and Garden Festival and the Food and Wine Festival... Neither is in June unfortunately.

Like Paula said, they won't have those same booths then, but there are certainly more than enough awesome snacks to grab around WS that are always there. You certainly won't leave Epcot hungry! :thumbsup2 I really wish they were set up all year. I know I would spend a lot of time at those booths, regardless of what time of year I was there.

Really enjoying your reviews. I really want to meet Anna and Elsa!
I really want to try the Mickey Kitchen sink but I think I would want PB sauce... wonder if I could add it for additional $$ DH is now yelling at me because he says I would eat 3 bites of the$23 sundae :confused3

Great review of the Flower & Garden booths, Jeri! :thumbsup2 There were so many things that I had wanted to try but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with my plans. On the two days that I planned to snack at the booths, the first was really hot (causing me to seek air conditioned dining ;) ) and on the second it was pouring down rain. :worried: I am determined though to do better at the F & W booths in October. ::yes::

Great flower n garden rundown. That taco and the duck looked awesome. Never had the fortune to do the festival but definitely want to give it a try sometime. How are the crowds compared to F&W?

Love the Flower & Garden booth update! The lemon cheesecake at Italy was one of my favorites from the F&G booths (I visited for a weekend in March and got to try some things, but didn't have time to write a review). The gnocchi dish was also good. :thumbsup2 I actually liked the F&G dishes even more than the F&W ones I tried in the fall, as many of them were lighter and more focused on fresh produce.

Wow you guys were able to sample a lot of the offerings!! That is a shame about the bacon cupcake, I saw people with it, but I just could not bring myself to try it. You had your own little food and wine festival going on!! Love it :goodvibes

I have not tried The Big Squeeze yet but I will add it to my "wish list" of beers that I need to try lol. :drinking1 I recently discovered that a local beer store sells the grapefruit beer that they served in Germany in Epcot so I need to get there STAT.

Everyone raves about this Violet Lemonade so I thought for sure it would be something special. It's kind of disappointing to know that it is just regular lemonade. Oh well. At least its purple. Purple lemonade is still cooler than yellow lemonade. :rotfl:

Hi there! Coming out of lurkdom to say I'm joining in!

My family and I left on the day you arrived - glad to hear the beautiful weather continued for your trip! We tried as many booths as we could (usually we were way too full), but our favorites were the frushi, Gnocchi, and popping bubble tea!

We only ended up doing 3 of the booths for F&G. I wasn't terribly dissapointed as going into it there wasn't a lot that appealed to me. My husband has already made it clear that in October we are doing more of the booths though.

We just added Trails End to our ADR's for next month because ur pics look so awesome!!! We tend to go offsite for breakfast quite a bit so on site will be a treat for us!! Loving your report so far!!

Thanks!:goodvibes

I want the peanut butter sauce too. I wonder if they would add it for some extra money. I'll have to investigate. It did just drop in price to $15.99, so that isn't too bad. That's a little more worth it if you have to try and eat it on your own.

popcorn:: joining in popcorn::

Thanks for joining in! :)

Thanks Barb! Too bad about the weather. It's not easy to do those booths in the rain or sweltering heat. The heat is what always slows us down at F&W too. We were lucky to have such amazing weather this trip. Hopefully the weather cooperates with you in October!

Great flower n garden rundown. That taco and the duck looked awesome. Never had the fortune to do the festival but definitely want to give it a try sometime. How are the crowds compared to F&W?

The taco and the duck were definitely my two favorites! The crowds were much lighter compared to F&W. We never really waited more than a minute or two in line. I think a lot of people don't even realize what the food booths are. Works for me! :thumbsup2

Love the Flower & Garden booth update! The lemon cheesecake at Italy was one of my favorites from the F&G booths (I visited for a weekend in March and got to try some things, but didn't have time to write a review). Rob really enjoyed the cheesecake too! He's a sucker for a good cheesecake. I don't know that I liked the options more than the F&W offerings, but like you said, I did like the focus on the fresh aspect. They incorporated fresh fruits or veggies into every dish. I can't wait to see F&W menus for this fall. I need to plot out my course of action for my one day there.

Wow you guys were able to sample a lot of the offerings!! That is a shame about the bacon cupcake, I saw people with it, but I just could not bring myself to try it. You had your own little food and wine festival going on!! Love it :goodvibes

I think that too many places are trying too hard to push this bacon in desserts fad. It really just doesn't work most of the time. Good concept, but not the best execution. We definitely did try to create our own F&W fest! It is beyond enjoyable to walk around WS sipping a beer and taking it all in.

I have not tried The Big Squeeze yet but I will add it to my "wish list" of beers that I need to try lol. :drinking1 I recently discovered that a local beer store sells the grapefruit beer that they served in Germany in Epcot so I need to get there STAT.

Oh man, I still can't find that grapefruit beer near me. I'm starting to think it's a myth.

:lmao: Purple lemonade is DEFINITELY cooler than yellow lemonade! You just have to enjoy the little things sometimes.

:wave2: Thanks for joining in! You do get full fast in Disney. It's hard to try everything you want because you're always trying to work off the last big meal. I never got around to trying the bubble tea. That sounded interesting though!

We only ended up doing 3 of the booths for F&G. I wasn't terribly dissapointed as going into it there wasn't a lot that appealed to me. My husband has already made it clear that in October we are doing more of the booths though.

Rob wasn't really into many of the food options. However, he's never met a beer or wine he didn't like. :lmao: I could spend most of my time at F&W when that is going on. There are too many booths! It felt like a lot to try at F&G, but F&W has more than double that amount of booths. It seems hard to believe!

We just added Trails End to our ADR's for next month because ur pics look so awesome!!! We tend to go offsite for breakfast quite a bit so on site will be a treat for us!! Loving your report so far!!

Thanks so much for reading along! So happy that you are trying Trail's End! I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do. That will be great to have an on-site breakfast. At least it's fairly inexpensive there. By Disney standards at least.

We had such an enjoyable time walking around WS enjoying F&G booths and then we did three or four rides and made our way out of Epcot as the crowds were gathering for Illuminations. A bus was waiting for us as we walked up to the stop for CBR, which worked out rather nicely. Once we were back at the resort we got off at the stop for Old Port Royale, because even though I ate all day, I was in the mood for a snack. :lmao:

For some reason I just really love the food court here. I stayed at CBR so many times when I was young and this place really brings back a lot of memories for me. I just love the feel of it here. I epically failed on getting pictures at the food court, but there is a long row of different food stations on the right, each with different options. At the end is their TS option, Shutters. On your left are the registers, drink stations and seating. At the opposite end of the building is the gift shop and arcade. I totally forgot to visit the gift shop while I was here. I'm so mad at myself for not going in there once during this trip.

Anyway, I looked over the options at each station and of course decided on the station with the longest and slowest moving line. It was totally worth it though.

Behold, Chilli Cheese Fries!

I carried my bounty back to the room and devoured them while we finally watched the previous night's episode of Game of Thrones on my laptop.

It was beyond enjoyable. This maybe the unhealthiest thing to eat on the planet, but it is so tasty. Our first full day at Disney and I'm already eating chilli cheese fries at 9:30 at night. Oh well, it's vacation, right?!?
