MAYbe we should go back to Disney World-A May 2012 PTR;6/7 Link to TR-Post#592; p. 40

WHat a fun trip! I was there earlier in the same month--I got out of there by the time those crowds picked up.

It was lots of fun! We knew the crowds would be there, but just tried to have a good attitude about why we were there! :)

How nice to be able to go for your daughters birthday.

We went for Christmas and New Year 2008 and it was amazing. We have been in June, July and August previously and I didn't find it as busy as I thought it would be. My biggest regret is that we didn't get to see the fireworks on NYE. We were staying offsite and my daughter was only 11 weeks old so we were too tired to be in the park all day.

The good thing is that it means we have to go again at that time of year in the future to see them!!:)

Definitely! :thumbsup2 Those are amazing! The fireworks at MK are perimeter fireworks, and they are amazing!

I wouldn't mind going again at that time either!

After celebrating a birthday in December, we were heading back to Disney three months later. We were going back for spring break. My daughter was part of the high school concert band at our school, and they were playing at Festival Disney.

For this trip, it was just the girls and me…Kevin could not take off work, and Reid was going to visit grandparents. My sister and her two youngest came with us too.

We spent five days at Disney, and stayed at POR.

We had breakfast at ‘Ohana-

And tried the Sci-Fi Diner for the first time.

My sister and I had not been to Disney World together since I was 18 and she was 15. Our kids had never been there together. The cousins had fun playing together in DW. :grouphug:

We went to Animation Academy for the first time and loved it! :)

Crowds were manageable, despite it being spring break. Easter was two weeks after our spring break.

NEXT: WE GET ONE MORE TRIP FROM THOSE ANNUAL PASSES!

Wow, those crowds were very mild for spring break. How fun to have a trip with cousins. :)

How cool that your DD got to play in Disney with her band! Sounds like it was great trip! Amy LOVES the Drawing Academy!!

i really like Sci Fi! The food isn't gourmet or anything but the atmosphere is SO NEAT!!! and the shakes are AMAZING!!!

and we LOVE animation stuido too. It's SO surprising to see what a non artist can make after taking the class! As in me - I'm a NON artist. LOL

I think I remember seeing some of those photos in your May 2010 PTR. I know the poster looks familiar. Love the Dopey drawing! That looks like so much fun! I think we're going to have to try the animation academy this time. :thumbsup2

WOW..........those crowds were outrageous . I think the only time we have ever ran into crowds like that was the 4th of July trip we took in 2009.

Elizabeth's cake was so pretty!!! We had one for Dallas at Sci-Fi in May 2009.

His birthday is actually in September, but he didn't want to wait until our September trip to have a cake. He wanted it when Amanda, Tyler and Matt were going to be with us.

Having a celebration is always so much fun at Disney!! Having a graduation celebration for Elizabeth will be so special!!

My sister and I had not been to Disney World together since I was 18 and she was 15. Our kids had never been there together. The cousins had fun playing together in DW. :grouphug:

Made me smile. I bet that was too much fun! :cool1:

Not having bad crowds during Spring Break time is a nice little gift! Plus, it's cool your DD got to preform at WDW, talk about a special Disney memory. :wizard:

We had been out to 3 the night before at MK, and we were in the Studios by 9 that morning, and never left for a break. I was afraid of it closing to capacity.

He actually woke up after the fireworks, and never believed us that he had slept through them! EvMH were at DHS that night until 3 a.m, so yep...We stayed out again! We didn't leave until a little after 2 that morning!

:worship::worship::worship:

Your spring break band trip with your daughters, sister and neice and nephew sounds like it was a lot of fun. What a great place to spend time away with family.

They were! I've been wondering how the crowds are this week.....We're on spring break, and a lot of kids from school have been down at Disney.

Definitely a cool experience! :thumbsup2 I remember how Amy loves the drawing class over at DHS. We enjoy it quite a bit too!

i really like Sci Fi! The food isn't gourmet or anything but the atmosphere is SO NEAT!!! and the shakes are AMAZING!!!

I agree about the quality of food at Sci-Fi---The atmosphere is the best part! :)

I'm really looking forward to Sci Fi this trip ! :cool1:

Like I just posted, the food is nothing to write home about, but the atmosphere is fun. Plus, it's a nice, dark, cool place to sit down and relax on a hot Florida day! :thumbsup2

Love the Dopey drawing! That looks like so much fun! I think we're going to have to try the animation academy this time. :thumbsup2

You haven't been yet? Then, you will definitely have to try it out for this trip. Your kids are both old enough that they'll enjoy it--I know you and Mike will! :)

The crowds in December at NYE were crazy, that's for sure! One year we were there on July 5, so I know those crowds are bad as well!

I like the chocolate cake you got for Dallas' birthday! Did it taste good?

Made me smile. I bet that was too much fun! :cool1:

It was! Fun times! :goodvibes

Just got back from a little trip with my same sister, her two younger kids, my girls, and our mom. We went to North Carolina to see the Biltmore home. Even during the car ride, we were laughing, talking about this Disney trip we took two years ago!

We couldn't complain about those crowds! Now, don't get me wrong....There were crowded times and places. It was just funny that morning over in FrontierLand---It was like, "Where did all the people go?"

Your spring break band trip with your daughters, sister and neice and nephew sounds like it was a lot of fun. What a great place to spend time away with family.

It was a fun trip! I think we may need to do that again in another year or so! :thumbsup2

Your Spring Break Band trip seems like such fun! How special you got to go with your sister, and your children and her children got to enjoy WDW together :wizard:.

I am going to check out that TR too :goodvibes

I'd love to join in...even though I'm 19 pages late to the party. :lmao:

We will be at WDW the same time you are. We are staying at Beach Club Villas for the first time. I can't wait! We've never stayed at any of the Epcot resorts before, so it will be so nice to walk to Epcot when we want.

I just wanted to comment on a few of your posts since I just finished reading them all.

First off, I'm listening to live365 at work right now and just as the Electric Water Parade music started, I scrolled over your pics. Too funny!

We are guilty of the multiple WDW trips in a year. Between May 2010 and Sept 2011 alone, we went four times. After the third time last February (surprise weekend trip that DH planned a day before we left), we made two big decisions: we were going to get APs and we bought DVC. Two of the best decsions we've made in a looong time. :thumbsup2

I miss the cookie making at Epcot. Our older DD loved doing it and I wish that our younger DD would have been able to try it. She loves helping to cook.

We loved Poly when we stayed there. We had a 40% off room only discount in 2010 and used it to book concierge there. Of course, then we decided to add a day at the beginning and Poly wasn't available so we tried the Contemporary. DH said that if we were doing the Contemporary for only one night, we were going to do it right and he booked a Magic Kingdom view, concierge room. Unfortunately, Poly was a little bit of a downer compared to being able to roll over in bed and look out the window to see the castle right there. :headache:

Can't wait to hear more about your plans!! We are really getting excited about our trip!!

The cake was good! It was a little too pricey for a cake IMO :lmao:. It was too big, and after eating on it for 3 days we ended up throwing some of it away. I still have the white chocolate Mickey in my freezer. Tyler says it is creepy to open the freezer and have Mickey staring at him...:lmao:.

We got a cake for Amanda and Tyler in 2008, but it was NASTY.

Looks like a fun Spring break trip! And it was nice that the cousins got to go together for the first time, and you had a trip with your sister! :cool1: I really need to go back to Sci Fi, I love that place!

I'm glad we got to go together--it was a lot of fun. :)

The same group + my mom just got back from a little trip to North Carolina to see the Biltmore Estate. Fun times!

.

I understand....Elizabeth's cake was somewhat pricey for a birthday cake, but hey, it was a big birthday!

We still have the chocolate "16" topper from her cake in our freezer too! Not sure what we're saving it for......:confused3

I really need to go back to Sci Fi, I love that place!

That was our first time at Sci Fi, but we enjoyed it! We're going back this trip taking Reid and my husband for their first time. I hope they like it!

I'd love to join in...even though I'm 19 pages late to the party. :lmao:

:welcome: Glad you're here!

That's great! :) You will love the Beach Club! We stayed there in May 2010, and stayed at Yacht Club in December 2009. That was our first time to stay in the Epcot area, and I was a little nervous, but shouldn't have been! It was great being able to walk over to Epcot, or take the boat to DHS. You'll love it! :thumbsup2

DVC would be wonderful! I've said that we should have bought it during one of our first trips back in 2001 or 2003. As many trips as we've made, it would have already paid for itself!

I miss the cookie making at Epcot. Our older DD loved doing it and I wish that our younger DD would have been able to try it. She loves helping to cook.

Ah! Someone who remembers the cookie cooking station in Epcot! :) How old are your daughters?

We've never stayed at Contemporary before, though I'd like to try it sometime! I'm sure it was wonderful waking up to the castle right outside your window!

I do love the Poly, though! It is my favorite of all our resorts we've ever stayed at. :cloud9: It's so relaxing, and I feel as if I'm somewhere far aways from home!

Can't wait to hear more about your plans!! We are really getting excited about our trip!!

We are getting excited too, even though we have a lot to do before then---like get our oldest daughter graduated from high school!

We can count down the days together! :thumbsup2
