Maybe no early entry at MNSSHP.

I was told by a cast member on the phone when purchasing tickets for the Christmas party that people were turned away this weekend and denied entry before 7pm at the Halloween party. She even made reference that she knew it said people had gotten in earlier on the 'disboards', but that the party officially starts at 7pm.

Wanted to share as this might affect folks plans.

I believe people have been getting in at 4. The call center has been saying that, but the park has been allowing ticket holders in at 4

During the MNSSHP where the podcast crew went to and reviewed it on the September 15th podcast they allowed people in at 4pm.
They also discussed this briefly.

The people at the call centers only know that the parties are 7:00 to midnight. They do not understand ticketing procedures. They only sell rooms and packages and tickets.

You said it better than I could have. I wouldn't have been that nice about how I referred to the call center people. They don't know squat the majority of the time.

I believe internal communication to CMs has been saying the party starts at 7:00. So, CMs have been relaying that information...7:00PM. However, people have been admitted at 4:00.

My personal thought is policy states 7:00PM, but CMs at the Magic Kingdom have been providing pixie dust to guests allowing them in at 4:00PM. :wizard: It's one of those things were Disney doesn't want guests to expect it, but appreciate it. Just my two cents.

The call center people are only as good as the information that Disney gives them. I would imagine they pull up a screen on their computer that has information about the party and they give out the information that is in front of them. I really don't understand why it's so hard to get a straight answer on this particular question, but that really is Disney's fault. If the information in front of them says the party is from 7pm to midnight that is what they tell people. Some of them will tell you you can get in at 4pm probably because they know this from first hand experience or because they were given different information for some reason.

If a call center person doesn't know squat that is almost entirely the fault of the company they are working for.

It may or may not be an official entry time for the party but they may sell less tickets if entry is not allowed a little earlier than 7:00. When we went a few years ago, we were told (not sure by who) that we could get in at 4:00 (had hoppers so it wouldn't have made a difference) and we did. If we only had the ticket to the party we would not have done it. Our kids were younger and we knew that if we could get a few rides out of the way, when the party began at 7:00 it wouldn't be a big deal if they didn't last much longer than the parade.

So, I think it's great that early entry is allowed. Disney just needs to be clear on when you can get in.

Ok. I am just amazed at how this issue keeps coming up.

Aren't 98% of people going to the parties already going to the parks that day anyways? Even if they did not let you in at 4 with your Party ticket, wouldn't most people just be able to get in with their regular tickets?

I do not go to a park the same day as hard ticketed events as the park closes early that night. For example, the park closes at 7pm to those that don't have a ticket to the event. I want as much time as I can get using a day of my ticket so don't want to have to leave early. In addition, the party gets over very late so we always sleep in and lounge around the pool that day. I would actually say the opposite, most people probably don't go to a park that day.

Yes, but it costs you a day on your MYW ticket. Many guests don't want to use a day; especially with a $55 hard ticket cost for the evening party.

Totally. I guess I only know the way I travel. I am from out of state. And stay at Disney for a week. And with the way the ticket prices are, going from 6 days to 7 days or 7 days to 8 days is only a couple bucks. So I always have tickets for every day that I am in Florida. So it wouldn't matter if I use on day to get in early, as I'd likely be in a park in the morning anyways.

But maybe my assumption is wrong and people get less days that they are in Florida.

OK honestly we need to stop expecting so much. If we bought a ticket for a movie or a something similar, and the time said 7:30 we might expect to get into the theater about minutes early, not three hours early. Think about how many of you would be mad if people showed up three hours earlier for a party you are hosting.

I am sorry, but the thought that it is your right to get into the party at 4 is completely wrong. Everyone is saying that Disney needs to provide the correct entrance time for the event, well they have its 7:00pm. IF you happen to show up and are allowed entry earlier then that is wonderful, but to expect it is completely out of line.

I think an earlier post said it best, if you get in a four it is just the cast members giving out pixie dust.

There are people who don't have park hoppers too. Maybe they go to Epcot the morning of the party and without a hopper if you really couldn't get in until 7pm they couldn't use their regular park ticket to get in any earlier. Plus there are locals who don't have annual passes or people staying off site that might just be coming to Disney for the party.

I agree with ADP. I also think that Disney is trying to manage expectations. If the call center tells people that they can arrive as early as 4 and that current practice changes, people will be peeved. They are going the safe route saying that the party starts at 7.

I say that if you are a guest who wants to arrive at 4 and try, go for it. Worst case scenario, they tell you to come back at 7 and you find something else to do for a few hours. Check out the monorail hotels or have a bite to eat. Let's remember that you sometimes have to go with the flow a little :)

IMHO, it's just poor guest relations not to be able to get a straight answer on this. It makes no sense. Especially for MNSSHP where many people get dressed up to attend. I wouldn't be too happy to be all dressed up in a costume and be told to come back in 3 hours. And alot of people make ADR's in the park so they can eat before the party or BBB appointments for their princesses to get made up before the party. I have yet to hear of anyone being turned away though between 4pm-7pm so it's really moot.

So I'm not at WDW, but I'm currently in my Good Neighbor Hotel at Disneyland. After seeing threads like this about MNSSHP and on the Disneyland board's about Mickey's Halloween party, I was surprised when the CM at the Disneyland desk at my hotel handed me a brochure for the party with this wording: "early access before the party begins at 4pm". So at least for the Westcoast version it's in print in their official brochure.

Good News! I was interested in hearing how DL was going to handle this. Especially since the parties haven't started there. Thanks!

Just re-read the brochure and the 4pm entry is for parties that are from 7pm-midnight. On the nights the party is from 6-11pm, it says entry begins at 3pm
