OK honestly we need to stop expecting so much. If we bought a ticket for a movie or a something similar, and the time said 7:30 we might expect to get into the theater about minutes early, not three hours early. Think about how many of you would be mad if people showed up three hours earlier for a party you are hosting.
I am sorry, but the thought that it is your right to get into the party at 4 is completely wrong. Everyone is saying that Disney needs to provide the correct entrance time for the event, well they have its 7:00pm. IF you happen to show up and are allowed entry earlier then that is wonderful, but to expect it is completely out of line.
I think an earlier post said it best, if you get in a four it is just the cast members giving out pixie dust.
I am not at all certain that the jumping off point for this thread was "expectations". Rather, it was "practice vs. theory". The OP was issuing a warning that past practices may not guarantee future performance. No one here is jumping up and down demanding their right to be let in early. They simply want an update on what is actually being done on the ground as opposed to in the cloud (i.e., call center).
As to whether or not one should burn a MYW day on the day of the hard ticket event, I suppose that depends entirely on how many days you put on your pass. As we know, once you get above a certain number of days, the additional days cost next to nothng. So if you view it as burning one of your "next to nothing" days, then it's no big deal. But if you are only there three days, for example, then you are probably better off doing something else from 8:00-4:00. I've done it both ways and can tell you that 8:00 a.m. to midnight (it is actually closer to 1:00 a.m.) is a long time to be in the MK. I prefer to spend my day at a pool, renting a watercraft, and eating a nice lunch at a signature restaurant before heading over to MNSSHP where good food and relaxation are not on the agenda.
