Maybe, Kinda Sorta, I Don't Know If I AM Going to Run in February

Via Napoli - I see how you are have some Zeppolis without me...I still need to learn to curse in Italian!!!::yes:: that is how I am ;) Seriously though, I have never had them and figure I should give 'em a try. Plus, this seems like a good place for an oop meal.
Grand Floridian Cafe- Loved breakfast here... I can not remember your report of it. What did you have that you liked so much? Course, I guess it doesn't matter since we will be having dinner rather than breakfast.

1900 PF- Not my favorite place, but with 3 of you maybe you wont get put in the back hall... When we were there in September, it was a favorite despite our seating location. I can't wait to get back to have some lobster eggs benedict.

Ohana - YUMMY...lapu lapu for me please I have never had one of these so I just may have to try one.

Pepper Market - Tink always shows great food from there...I believe it is one of Anakins favs... I really like Pepper Market. This will be my third time eating there for lunch. Very good selection of food

Beaches and Cream - We have never been there either. sink??? Maybe. I am not a huge fan of sharing from the same dish but as long as we can pull from it as a serving container rather than a dish we all eat out of, I am fine.

I added some comments to your comments ;)

Via Napoli -We have not done; but Andy and Des did and loved it I hear such good things, but going there for a full meal seems almost a waste of credits to me.

Grand Floridian Cafe- Never been; but now that I've gotten Mark to go and see the Christmas decorations at GF, I'm hoping to convince him to go there for a meal I hope you can get him there too. I think I wouldn't want to stay there, but I do like to visit.

BOG - We loved our dinner there and hope to try lunch next trip I kinda wish that we could get a dinner ADR, but then again... it would be a ts credit and I think I like the menu for lunch better.
WGPE- have done dinner and breakfast and enjoyed bothI keep saying that I am going to go for breakfast some time but it is always about the lunch or dinner. I do love that salmon, but maybe this next time I will try something different.
Pepper Market- You know it is now a buffet, don't you? We had the breakfast buffet and then ate the regular dinner...very good Yup, I think that is what I like about it. It is a cs credit and there is so much food. Not to mention the food isn't too bad. In fact, I think it is comparable to a lot of the buffets on property.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! :goodvibes

Okay, thoughts on your dining choices ........
Via Napoli ..... closest to "real Italian" I ever got in the US! :thumbsup2 I think we are planning on just splitting a pizza. Still a good choice?
Maya Grill ..... been several times and loved it every time :thumbsup2I rarely hear much about this one. Maybe because it is at a resort rather than in the parks? Good to hear you loved it though :thumbsup2
The Wave ..... don't know if you are planning on B, L or D, but we have been to all of them and were always VERY satisfied. Breakfast has the only buffet I would go to! :rotfl2: Very good! :thumbsup2
If you go for lunch or dinner, save room for dessert ..... it's awesome Planning to go for dinner. I think it looks to have some good choices for a meal the night before the phm.
Grand Floridian Cafe ..... been to all three meals as well and never disappointed. Try the chocolate fondue for dessert at dinner. :thumbsup2 you seem to have insight into many of these! Thanks for the tips!! chocolate fondue for dessert? YUM!

Kouzzina ..... only been for dinner and have always enjoyed it. Different to the usual Disney fare :thumbsup2 I went there by myself for breakfast in September after the ToT race. OMG! It was amazing. I think it will be my post race breakfast from here on out. The salt, the protein with just enough carbs. PERFECT!
1900 Pf ..... not our favourite ;)And here I was so proud because the one thing I am looking forward to most I thought you would approve of ;) I have read mixed reviews of this place though. In september is was very yummy, but watch it will be horrid in February.
Ohana ..... we used to go every year, but have felt very rushed the last few times we went. The service we got last December was atrocious. But this was the one restaurant Steve requested. Even though we had to track down a waiter, the food was still very impressive

BOG ..... will go for the first time in February. MamaPotts was nice enough to make reservations for us. A hard ADR to get. I wasn't sure I was even going to be able to go (and still have some small doubts) when booking opened up. A friend booked dinner, but sadly that friend no longer will speak to me so... we won't be having dinner together.
WPE ..... guess you know what I have to say about that one. :rotfl2: Fellow Austrian! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I know :rotfl: Seriously though, this is a must every trip. I some time have to do breakfast...but everything else is so yummy. I know some people prefer EoS, but for me WPE wins!
Pepper Market ..... we have not been since it became a buffet, but would be happy to return. It had recently become a buffet when we went last december, and we LOVED it. I then had it as a pre race lunch on the last trip and it was perfect. You should really try it.

And a DISmeet at B&C ..... oh, how I wish it were me. ;) Oh, it IS me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone care for the Kitchen Sink? :rotfl2: Don't feel pressured, there are lots of yummy ice-cream treats and we can have some savoury food as well. :thumbsup2
:rotfl: Sooo excited!!! Funny how we never seem to have a trip planned at the same time. I am so happy that this time we do. We need to figure out when will work. I think our dates overlap, but are not exactly the same, right? And the kitchen sink will work if we can get little plates to dish into. Then again, someone always seem to have some sort of orange thing that has me anxious to try. ;) I am easy though...what ever works for everyone will be fine. (except the plate thing...I guess I am kinda weird about that one.)

Merry Christmas!!!

Since it would seem as no one wants to play my little game ;) I guess I will go ahead and end the suspense.

None of us have been to the following ts restaurants;
Via Napoli Never ate here
Maya Grill Never ate here
The Wave Never ate here
Grand Floridian Cafe I like it here.

I am the only one to have been to Kouzinna. Never ate here

Steve has never been to 1900 PF. Ate here many times but not much of a fan

We have all been to Ohana. Ate here many times, I like it but don't love it.

As far as counter service goes, we would like to try and go to the following;
BOG Yes!! Onetreehill tried to eat here on her vacation and the restaurant closed at 2pm.
WGPE Haven't eaten here in years, but I liked it.
Pepper Market You know we like it here. And I know you are a pro at getting here, lol. Man, it took you forever last trip!!

Looks like a dismeet will bring us to Beaches and Cream. Not sure when though. We have never been there either.

Beaches and cream!! YUM! We ate there on Christmas Eve. The menu has changed. I liked the changes.

I was asked to do another write up for The Adult Side of Disney about the menu changes.

None of us have been to the following ts restaurants;
Via Napoli Never ate here
Maya Grill Never ate here
The Wave Never ate here

Isn't it funny how there are so many restaurants and we get into a pattern of where we go? Then we miss out? I am hoping that these three will not make me regret choosing one of our tried and true.
Grand Floridian Cafe I like it here.

This one too is makes me hope I don't regret it.

Kouzinna. Never ate here

I want to try dinner here some day too, but since breakfast works well for me post race... figure I will have to wait on it

1900 PF. Ate here many times but not much of a fan

I think it was just a couple things that made me want to go back. Strawberry soup and lobster eggs benedict...YUM

We have all been to Ohana. Ate here many times, I like it but don't love it.

I like it, but don't love it. Steve really liked it and so we need to do at least one thing he will like

As far as counter service goes, we would like to try and go to the following;
BOG Yes!! Onetreehill tried to eat here on her vacation and the restaurant closed at 2pm.

I will have to remember...eat before 2pm

WGPE Haven't eaten here in years, but I liked it.

This is a must do for me...
Pepper Market You know we like it here. And I know you are a pro at getting here, lol. Man, it took you forever last trip!!

I know you like it...as do i :goodvibes That first trip there, yes took FOREVER! Then in September it took a while too. I think travel from one resort to another is always tricky...and CSR seems to be one that is particularly hard to travel to.

Beaches and Cream.
and cream!! YUM! We ate there on Christmas Eve. The menu has changed. I liked the changes.

I was asked to do another write up for The Adult Side of Disney about the menu changes.

Have there been a lot of menu changes? I noticed your picture of the "kids need to eat from the kids menu" sign. Do you think Zoe will have a hard time ordering even though I paid for her to be an adult?

Hope you are having a very Merry MERRY Christmas!

So I received a text from Michelle to give me a heads up that Pepper Market will no longer be a buffet as of January 1.:sad:

Now does this really change things. Probably not. However, if the new dv discount that just was released makes a different resort a better deal... who knows, maybe not having that one factor sitting on the scale for CSR would make me rethink. Given that we are just a couple months out though, who knows if we could even switch.

So I need to call to see what the discount would do to my package. I did try yesterday, but was on hold for 40 minutes before finally hanging up. I know, 40 minutes?! However, I had my phone just sitting with me so it wasn't like it was all that bad. When I decided I needed to proceed with other activities... I just hung up. So I still need to call.

Maybe I will do that tomorrow, but between work and another run day (this training is really ramping up. I run more days than I don't now) I just don't know if I will have time.

I was wondering if you got through and saved any $$$.

I booked a room for May with the dv, but I thought the rate was still pretty high for a value $116 weekend and $96 weekday.

Since it would seem as no one wants to play my little game ;) I guess I will go ahead and end the suspense.

None of us have been to the following ts restaurants;
Via Napoli - had lunch here april 2011 - was good!
Maya Grill - never eaten here
The Wave - never eaten here
Grand Floridian Cafe - I had lunch here back in 2005 think it was good (Megan was doing the Alice Tea Party)

I am the only one to have been to Kouzinna. - never eaten here

Steve has never been to 1900 PF. - have had lots of breakfasts and dinners here...love the characters, food meh! prefer breakfast though

We have all been to Ohana. - ate here april 2011 dinner - was okay, too much food for just us two

As far as counter service goes, we would like to try and go to the following;
BOG - going to try both lunch and dinner in 2013
WGPE - keep wanting to try
Pepper Market - ate lunch back in 2002 so not a current report, was okay

Looks like a dismeet will bring us to Beaches and Cream. Not sure when though. We have never been there either.

had lunch at B & C back in 2008 and really liked it!

good luck on figuring out your ADR's!

Today I accomplished my longest run EVER. Even when preparing for the ToT 10miler, I did not take my miles up this high. (almost..but not quite) I got 7.75 miles in. I am pretty proud of my pace - 10:15/mile. I didn't stop to walk once.

Last night I was so nervous about it. I am using a training program and what was scheduled for today was going to mean somewhere between 7 and 8 miles of running. It started to snow hard last night. I was sure I would wake to find a ton of snow. Add in that Zoe came down with strep throat and I am just waiting to catch it from her....and I was just so apprehensive.

I woke to find NO snow :cool1: It was a rainy mist though..so I anticipated getting at least a bit wet.

I ate some oatmeal, did my stretching and donned my favorite jacket and some gloves and out I went.

Despite the rain during the first 30 minutes or so, it was a beautiful run. At one point I was running fairly close to the tree line. I noticed that something odd was moving next to me. Just as I looked over a head popped up and a very shocked deer looked up at me in much the same way I looked at her. As if to say "oh my, I didn't notice you there". We had to have been only a few feet from each other. There was a second deer just a bit further down the road, but she jumped into the bushes more and all I saw was her rear as I ran past. The first deer just went back to eating. :rotfl:

Often times I see a heard of elk when I am out running, but not today. I actually prefer the deer as they are much smaller and far less scary. I have never come as close to the elk as I did the deer today. The closest was when they were on the move and were on a path to intersect me. That had me a bit nervous cause I wasn't sure what they would do if they were running as they crossed my path.

Now with this run behind me, I see that in the coming weeks I will be running a bit more with the start of each training week. Next week should take me up over 8 miles :faint: This program ends with 126 minutes of running... 7 weeks from now. That will only give me about a week before the phm. I think I may have to cut the training program short since I will need to taper the last couple weeks.

Happy Holidays!!!!

great job with your running schedule! cool to see the deer! hope Zoe is feeling better!

I was wondering if you got through and saved any $$$.

I haven't even tried to call back. I really need to.

I booked a room for May with the dv, but I thought the rate was still pretty high for a value $116 weekend and $96 weekday.

I think all the rates went up recently. Seems like everything is higher. :sad2:
great job with your running schedule! cool to see the deer! hope Zoe is feeling better!

Thanks :goodvibes

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you as well!

A little late, .........

And a Happy one to you!

Joining in!!

I'm so proud of you for sticking to the running! :thumbsup2 I really need to get back to it and plan to do that this week.

I would still like to the PHM one year, it just won't be this year.

I like all the TS restaurants you have planned.

Can't wait to hear how the rest of the planning comes along!

Glad you found my PTR too. Although..with just 50 days away and no airfare and Steve barely able to get out of bed... not sure how well the trip is coming together.

Regardless of the trip though, I am still running. Ran 8.4 miles today! I am still amazed that I can push myself a bit further and reach new distances. I will be sore tomorrow!!!

Just had to officially share. Today was my furthest distance ever. 8.4 miles! I suspect I may need a bit more cushion in my shoes cause I am a bit sore now. However, I did it!

The day started with a friend texting me she did a 5k run in 13 degree weather! Can you believe that? That is very cold! I could tell the sun was shinning so I looked at my phone to see the current temp. "23 degrees" Ok... I told myself " I can't be a wimp. If she could do 13 then I certainly could do 23 and that 23 is bound to be a bit warmer by the time I got out."

It was GORGEOUS outside! Blue skies. I was bundled. About 2 miles in... I had to remove the gloves. About 4 miles I had to unzip the neck of my jacket. By 6 miles my head band was off. By 7 I had my jacket nearly all the way unzipped. There was still ice on the roadway and in puddles, so I know it was cold. I get so warm when I run! I am going to have to invest in some throw aways for the race. I have read that this is quite normal... people bring a blanket to the prerace corals..and then leave it. They toss clothing along the way. I am going to have to get some things I like... that I am ok tossing...cause it would seem no matter how cold it is, I will get overheated.

In the end, I ran 8.4 miles. The heard of elk was out. They were pretty far off when I passed them, but that didn't stop people from parking in the road to watch them. This of course made it so I had to run between them. Oh what fun. Also making it more fun was the fact that some had their windows down and made comments as I ran by them. ::yes:: you are funny. I make you feel tired.

During my long runs like this I travel along a windy road that has no shoulder. I hate it for one reason - cars. I swear people shouldn't drive so fast, but some do and when I am rounding a corner I HATE being run off the road because some driver wasn't paying attention. It is a beautiful place to run though...but I have to stay on guard since every now and again I have some driver who nearly clips me. Today was one of those days... rounded a corner and a car didn't move away from the side of the road so I had to jump into the bramble. Oh well... it was brief and I was fine...and it didn't affect my pace.

Next weeks run should take me close to 9 miles.... NINE?! I have several runs between then and now to keep me going though....

Oh...and for it being a beautiful january 1st, I would have thought there would be more runners out. NOT a SINGLE one besides me. Where are those resolution runners?

Hope everyone has a great start to the new year!!

Went back and got caught up. We have eaten at Maya, GFC and Wave. I think you will like them all although the service at GFC has been craptastic the last couple times we've been there.

We had the best service ever at Maya and were very happy with the food.

Wave food was awesome and we're going back this trip!

Kouzzina is my #2 breakfast place next to Kona.

Can't wait to hear more.

Glad I could help motivated you get get out and run...really the only time I was COLD was waiting for the race to start.

Halfway the hat came off and so did the gloves, plus the fleece unzipped...

In the end, I ran 8.4 miles.

WOW...I am so impressed You go girl!

This scares me for you running...too many times I have read in the newspaper or seen on the news people hurt or killed running/biking...

I'm glad your running is going well. Your timing sounds great.

Like Tammie said, please be careful on that road. My friend's husband bike rides long distance and he HAS been hit twice and taken down by a dog once.

Congrats on your run! You're doing an awesome job! :thumbsup2

Please be careful on those roads! :goodvibes
