We have planned on taking our daughter to WL for 3 nights Sept 16-19. It will be her 3rd birthday on the 18th. I have been so excited about this trip but last week my DH mentioned he may have a company-wide meeting sometime that week that he cannot miss. He has no idea what day the meeting is - and won't until much closer. I will be so disappointed if we can't go - any suggestions to make the waiting easier?

If it were me, I would want DH to push for more info at work. Has he been approved for vacation for that week? Can they force him to come in on approved time off. My DH's work place has mandatory meetings all the time, but you don't HAVE to be there if it's your day off or anything. And no way would they want to pay the gas bill for him to drive back to Iowa from WDW to be at the meeting. Also, I would think if they knew what was going on, they may be able to schedule the meeting around is trip so it won't be an issue. Sometimes bosses tend to forget that someone is scheduled to be gone. I know DH's boss has had to re-schedule some special events when he found out DH wasn't going to be there to handle them (no one else seems capable!). If your guy is anything like mine he tends to take what info he is given and not ask for more. If he can push a little without getting into trouble (we don't want him losing his job over this!), then I would ask him to please, for your peace of mind, just go to his boss and remind him that you have a mini vacation for your DD's Bday scheduled for that week and could they try to plan this meeting around that, or at least give him a date so if you need to you can shift your plans around a little. Let us know how it turns out!!

I know how you feel...DH and I are going Sept 21-29 paid in full and approved...every year where I work the manager's have a retreat in September for additional training...we haven't been told the dates yet, and I am so worried that they are going to make it during my vacation....it's just a sit and wait game! :rolleyes1

Hopefully they will give him the information you need soon! If you can change it to before or after the meeting then all is not lost. If worst comes to worst, a girl's only trip would still be fun!

Last year, my dh couldn't get off from work to go to WDW with us. So, I went with just my 2 youngest children (5 & 7). We had a blast! If your dh can't make it, consider going with just your child. If you were going to drive, but don't want to drive without dh, SW still has some amazing rates for next month.
