We could go May 25-June 3 or we could go anytime in July and save about $400 because it would be value season. Is there any difference? Opinions and thoughts welcome!! It never occured to me that value season would start right after the 4th!!

That is my thought too, but why is July considered "value season".

Because it is very hot and crowded. I'd still rather to be hot and crowded at Disney World than stay home or be anywhere else but having done 2 May trips, one at the begeinning of May and one in the middle and also having done a July trip I would pick May any day. The Flower and Garden Festival going on in Epcot is gorgeous.

I believe you are incorrect about July being value. That is summer and it is regular season.

Value
1/1-2/15
8/27-10/4
11/26-12/19

Regular
4/23-8/26
10/5-11/25

Peak
2/16-4/22

Holiday
12/20 - 12/31

I got that info from mousesavers and when I priced out the two trips it was cheaper in July.

Value Season Jan 1-Feb 11, Jul 4 - Oct. 1, Nov 2 - Dec 17
Regular Season April 18 - Jul 3, Oct 2 - Nov 1
Peak Season Feb 12 - Apr. 17
Holiday Season Dec. 18 -31

that's 2005 schedule....days differ by a few each year...I'd pick May...it's a lot cooler than July and less crowded....either one you pick though you can't go wrong....it's the dis!

Yeah, this is a new 'value season' this year probably because of the past few summers' hurricanes...

We have been there the week of May 22 and the week of July 5. I would definitely choose May over July if I had a choice. The temps were not so hot to be miserable and the crowds were much more manageable. While we were there in July is was 95 degree days and the crowds ....:crowded: The more popular rides like Tower of Tower , RRCoaster had 2 hour standby lines. Fastpasses were given out by midday for Test Track, Peter Pan, Winnie-the Pooh. So if you have the choice, choose May.

May 2001-All Star Sports
July 2003-CSR
Nov/Dec 2005-Wilderness Lodge :hourglass 33 DAYS !!

Our trip was May 26-June 3rd. We followed Tour Guide Mike's touring plans and the longest wait we had was 17 minutes, for a non-fast pass attraction. There were lots of people in the parks, but the crowds didn't prevent us from doing anything we wanted to do. As for the weather...not too hot, but it did rain all or part of 6 days.

May, hands down with no doubt. Much better weather (less rainy) then summer but still very hot. Less crowds (school is still in) and F&G at Epcot. Everyone should see the F&G at least once in their life. It really is great.

July is value season at the Deluxe resorts.

I believe July is regular season at the Moderates and Value resorts.

Crowds will be lighter in May. I don't think that the weather will be that much different, it will still be hot and humid! Most things should be open by late May (meaning there shouldn't be many rehabs going on then). Park hours will probably be shorter than July. You will have the Flower and Garden Festival going on in Epcot.

I would probably pick May over July.

Thanks to all for the great info. We stick with our original May dates. So if we get to experience Flower and Garden @ Epcot AND Gay Day, I think we will come out of the experience pretty well rounded :)
