May the Force Be with Us PTR. UPDATED Plans 3/1

Love the lenses! That is a super zoom lens!

What stuff did you can? Looks so yummy!

Santa Fe sounds awesome! Especially your massage :)

Did you see the new Skipper Canteen menu? Looks very exciting. No ADRs yet though, so we'll have to wait and see. I'm just happy to see new dining at MK. Hopefully we will be able to try it in Feb/March!

Yay for booking the dessert party! I'm sure it's gonna be epic. Too bad we'll be missing each other by a week!

I am so in love with the new camera and lenses, especially the 24-70mm. I haven't had to use a flash with it yet, even in poor light, indoors. Wait until I post the Walt Disney Museum photos. I didn't use a tripod or flash for any of them. I told DH that if we get a divorce, I get the new camera and lenses:)

What stuff did you can? Looks so yummy!

Peach jam (using agave nectar instead of sugar), some with cinnamon and some with amaretto, pear jam with red wine, spice cranberries, brandied cranberries, and cantaloupe with mint

The massage was great. The whole spa was awesome and beautiful.

I did. I have been stalking for it almost everyday. I really want to try it even more now. I think the dishes look really good and interesting for MK. Those souvenir mugs are just screaming for a tasty adult beverage though.

I know. It would have been nice to meet you guys. At least we all get to go to the party. I think the only person that might be there when we are is @yulilin3, who runs the SW thread. However, that's kind of like the holy grail of DIS meets IMHO:)

@soniam you are too funny...when I hear Holy Grail all I can think of is the World showcase Players "Grail, Grail, Grail, huh"
I can't wait to meet you and your family

Just found your PTR I'm joining in to see all your pre trip fun!

Hopefully, I will be posting soon about our trip weekend before last to San Francisco for The Polish Wedding! and the Walt Disney Family Museum. Then, we head to Germany on Friday. It just feels like go, go, go lately and then eventually go to WDW in March:jumping3:

Rumor has it that Skipper Canteen will open tomorrow. So, for I don't know how many days straight now, I will check in when I wake up to see if ADRs are ready yet. I guess it could be worse; I am usually up by 5am CST:( for work and school. On a good note, I was able to book Lilo's Playhouse for DS for our date night finally. We gave him the choice between the kid's club and the babysitter. I think he just wants to play video games at the kid's club;)

I am totally dragging it. I am sitting in the apartment in Nuremburg, Germany, with the heat off and the patio door open, trying to stay awake for my lost luggage to be delivered. Luckily, it was only one of the three bags, but it was the bag that had my toiletries:( So no shower since yesterday morning before the flight. DH took DS out to the Christmas market to burn off energy and stay awake. We just arrived here this morning. We had a really tight connection between Frankfurt and here, which is where the luggage got lost (no surprise thereo_O). Security wanted to swab my camera, camera bag, lenses, and my waistband:confused3 We almost didn't make it. For some reason, Lufthansa only allowed about an hour to deplane an Airbus 380, with several hundred of my new closest friends, go through passport control, and then through customs. I was typing up some of my wedding and Disney Family Museum while on the flight. I think I am too tired to do a good job right now, especially compressing and resizing the photos. I will wait until later.

Just thought I heard someone in the hall. The apartment owner had our luggage:jumping1: Now maybe I can get some baked goods and some hot mulled wind and fall asleep:) Hope everyone has been having a great Star Wars Weekend (not plural) so far:) No spoilers please.

Just booked Hard Rock Hotel with an annual passholder rate for the Universal part of the trip. It was a good deal, and now I am a Universal annual passholder too:jumping3:

I just found out that the main pool at POR will be under refurb until 3/4. We will be arriving 3/14, so I am worried that the refurb might go late. DS would really like to swim in the main pool. We also got hit by the refurb at Poly, and I just don't want to deal with that again. So, as a backup, I have booked Caribbean Beach too. Since my reservations are room only, I have a while before I have to cancel. I need to make a decision though. We have never stayed at Caribbean Beach, but it looks to be almost as convenient as POR. It was also slightly cheaper. Although, this was for a water/pool view; whereas, we have a preferred room at POR. We haven't stayed in a preferred room at POR, so it's probably not a huge disappointment. I looked at Coronado Springs, but the room was more expensive since it was business class/club level. Club level at WDW never opens early enough for us to take advantage in the morning, which is when we need it most, since we eat breakfast in the room/on the go. So, I didn't see paying extra for something we wouldn't use. The pools look nice there though. I hate this refurb stuff. They just start it so late without much notice. Just when I thought everything but FP+ had been decided too:(

I can't see it going too late if at all this isn't a full pool redo like the poly was. It's starting in January.

We are staying at CBR very soon. And there are pool refurbishments going on during our stay. I love CBR, and ds especially loves digging in the sand. It's a huge resort, but we love it! There is a thead in the resorts forum dedicated to CBR.

At least at POR you can always use the theme pool at FQ. And the boat to DTD is definitely an advantage to staying at POR.

It looks like the pool reburbs at CBR will be done by March, so that's good for us. I don't think we will mind the size. I know everyone says that POR is huge, but it felt fine to us and we didn't have a preferred room. I am not a huge fan of the pool at POFQ. DS wouldn't bother walking over there; he would just use the small pool near our building instead of the main pools. However, I know that he would really prefer to use the big pool. CBR looks nice and convenient, especially since we will be driving. However, we love the feel of POR and the boat to DTD/DS. I think I will wait a little and let the idea settle.

Either way you choose, they are both great resorts.

There are some age restrictions on some of the theme pool area at CBR. My son is too old for Some of the kiddie stuff. But can enjoy the main pool and slide. We didn't make it to the theme pool during SWW so even if it's freezing this time, we're going to check it out.

Have you ever seen Yee Haw Bob's show at POR? We really enjoy it. Such a fun time. Just don't show up late or... well, you'll see.

DS is too tall for the kiddie stuff at CBR too, but I think he would like the main pool and slide.

No we missed Yee Haw Bob last time. I really wanted to try to make it this time. If we are at POR, then we will definitely try.

YeeHaw Bob is a must!

I did our magic bands a while ago. I would like to get DS a special Star Wars one at the parks, if they have some cool ones left. I have a Cheshire cat slider, and DS has an R2D2 one. I might have to steal his R2D2 slider for my MB:) We also have some cool MB skins with Chopper from Star Wars Rebels courtesy of @OhioStateBuckeye and BF. Can't wait to put those on.

Me - Blue/R2D2
DH - Blue/Han Solo
DS - Orange/BB-8

We also just booked a vacation for the Grand Canyon in August. Since the WDW trip is shorter than our original June plans, we decided to do a 4 day trip to the Grand Canyon. It was difficult to find lodging in the park at the South Rim with 2 beds. I had to look at almost everyday for each hotel:scared: We did find something though in Maswik, which is not on the main drag but is still in the village. It has AC too:) Southwest doesn't have flights yet for August, so we only have the hotel. None of us have ever been, so this will be a great trip. If I can stop taking current trips and planning new ones, then maybe I could do my reports on our recent trips to San Francisco, the Disney Family Museum, and Germany:rolleyes:

We officially switched from Port Orleans Riverside to Caribbean Beach. DS loved the pool at CBR, so I canceled POR. It looks like a nice resort, and the pool looks nice. The room at POR was preferred, which we have never had. The room at CBR is water/pool view, which will be nice too. It was also slightly cheaper.

 Hi!! I just found your PTR. I'm going in March as well. We will be there the 8th-16th, but we are not going to any of the parks you are doing on the days you go to them.. We tend to stay away from the EMH's though.
