Hello all, despite the fact that I'm going to WDW in a little over a month, reservations are still easily available for Brown Derby. Our res is currently at the Sci Fi but apparently the food leaves a lot to be desired. Since, we have decided to spend the entire day at DS, and thus want to have a nicer lunch.

Brown Derby has always been on my list, especially because of the grapefruit cake! What do you think? Should I switch?

BTW, other restaurants at DS are out of the question. I can't have tomatoes = no Melrose's, and I just ate at 50s last time.

Thanks!

We've been to both Sci-Fi and Brown Derby for lunch, and I would highly highly recommend the switch to Brown Derby!

We've been to Sci-Fi more than once, and we (including our 3 boys) agreed it's just fun to try once. But we all enjoyed Brown Derby and my husband and I loved the grapefruit cake! We had a table right next to the window and it was a nice, relaxing break from the park, and the food was great. (Sci-Fi is fun, but not so much a break from the park!)

Next time, we're going to Brown Derby for dinner - it's my new favorite restaurant at WDW!

I would switch, unless it's an issue of using 1 credit vs 2 on the dining plan. If that's not a problem, BD is a relaxing place to have a meal. The Cobb salad is so good, and I had a really good steak there last time. My friend, who isn't crazy about grapefruit even had the cake and like it.

Brown Derby is one of my absolute faves! Now that's what I call a Cobb Salad! DD5 is crazy over the "Hidden Treasures" dessert...

We have had lunch at SciFi and dinner at Brown Derby. I think for lunch SciFi is fine. I consider it more of a burger and fries place. The atmosphere is fun. We really enjoyed dinner at Brown Derby, the food and service were both excellent, but comparing the two is apples and oranges, Brown derby is more of a sit down full service restaurant.

I would switch to Brown Derby, the food is very good. Much better than Sci Fi.
