available yet (park hours, special events, etc…), but can I assume that the hours will be similar to what is available now (April 12)? What I mean is…say MK on a Wednesday in April has Extended evening hours. Does that likely mean Wednesdays in May will have extended evening hours? I love planning my trips, I don’t want to wait weeks to figure out what days/parks, lol.

Also, is there a way to figure out if there will be a special event first week in May?

Lastly, I won’t be able to make Park reservations until the calendar is out for the first week in May, correct?

Thank you!!!!

You do not need to wait until park hours are out to be able to make your park reservations. You can do that now.

Its reasonable to assume park hours will be similar to the mid-April hours, but I wouldn't count on it. Plus, keep in mind that Disney often adds a little extra time to the theme park hours after they are initially posted. So even when you first see those May hours in a few weeks, check back again a week or so before your trip and make sure they are still the same

Hours can change even after being announced. If you look at hours that are currently published, it will give you an idea of how they can change and vary.

That makes it difficult to book park reservations well in advance, but then I think unless there are evening events at MK, it’s a good idea to avoid that park on Mondays and Friday...and Epcot during the weekend at any time? That’s my plan, anyway. I know it’s early, but planning my trip makes the time fly.

thank you!

I will, thanks! Worst comes to worst, if I make park reservations and then the hours turn out not to work out in my favor, I can always switch them..

Not really, IMO. You can make your reservations as soon as you purchase park tickets and then change them later if a slight difference in park hours prompts you to modify your plans. I have always been able to change my park reservations, even as late as the week before a scheduled trip (admittedly, I don't visit on holiday weekends)

Thanks! My trip in November was done on short notice, so I didn’t have that issue. Since I can’t make ADRs now, my time will now be spent planning my park days.

I am also going in May. I searched for May 2022 park hours to get an idea. Lots of the Disney blogs post them so you can see what was done last year and use that as a baseline. Comparing to April is tricky because it's still Spring break time.

That’s a good idea - and true about April!

When in May are you going?

The week of the 21st so before Memorial Day. I am sure they won't be exactly the same, but it's usually just an hour added when it does change.

I second checking hours and EEH hours beforehand. Last year we went in Mid May and they switched MK EEH to a different night. So, EPCOT and MK had back to back EEH. I think MK EEH were from 10-1AM. EPCOT was the usual EEH.

oh, fun ! Yeah, i don’t think there are any parties like during Novemberm when I was last there, so other than maybe some hours changing, it doesn’t seem like there will be anything to cause me to change plans

I obsessively plan my vacations, so with all this time on my hands, I will definitely keep checking and very likely rescheduling, lol

The only thing they may have is After Hours, but it does not drastically affect closing times like the Halloween and Christmas parties do. At most it would change MK from an 11p to a 10p closing and in Jan / Feb they added an hour in the morning to make up for it (8a opening). HS After Hours does not start until 9:30p so it has no affect on it's hours either.

Currently neither MK or HS has any parties scheduled past the end of March / April.
