Thanks for the birthday wishes, Angela! Our flight out of Orange County airport is at 10:05am, so we'll be gone. But I'm sure you and DH will be having a great time on his birthday while it takes a whole day of flying and layovers to get home! :rotfl2:

I'm just curious...have any of you actually spotted anyone else with a Mickey sticker on? If so, did you go up and say hi? I tried to watch for them when I was at WDW but never saw any.

Hi everyone!
I've been reading the forum for a little while now, but this thread has brought me out of hiding...

We're booking into the PP for 19-23 May

If you see a family of 5 (mum, dad, 2 teenage girls, 1 nearly teenage boy) with Aussie accents - that'll be us :cool2: :cloud9: princess: princess: pirate:

Regards Jenn

Welcome and congrats on "coming out". Will this be your first visit to DL?

lololol. Might as well be! Last time my DH and I were at Disneyland it was 1987... We had just gotten engaged (in Hawaii) and then visited Disneyland. I've been dreaming of getting back ever since, but just hadn't made it - although we have done: safari in South Africa, beach in the Caribbean, and Santorini in Greece over the years...

I'm getting sooo excited now that I can hardly sleep (already!). I phoned Vacation Planning this morning (had to get up at 5am our time to get them during open hours over there) and booked all our treats and restaurant bookings...

See you all there!
Regards Jenn (DH Tony, kids: Melissa (15yrs - and I've organised a signed photo of Goofy to be waiting for her saying he "can't wait to meet her ;-)), Rachael (14yrs), Gregory (12yrs a week before we get there).

Happy Birthday to your daughter! princess: :cake: Is her birthday during your trip?

It will be my son's 2nd birthday on the 12th! I hope it doesn't get too busy at the park.

We took our older daughter for her first trip at 2 years of age and then returned for her 4th birthday just this past Sept. Couldn't pass up the kids fly free deal this year, especially since they extended the special -- so we're headed back. Should have upgraded our hoppers last Sept!

It seems like we'll be at the parks around the same time Princess@heart!

I'm excited for me...excited for you and everybody else that's going!! :cool1:

I see the list of DIS members going in May is growing, We will be looking for those lime green mickey heads. I sure hope the local HD has some for us.. See ya all there !!!!!

This may seem like total DIS blasphemy, but almost everytime I go to HD, they are out of all the lime green Mickey heads, not just alien green. So I picked up a pink one, went to Michael's and bought a sheet of lime green poster board. I then traced and cut out a bunch of Mickey heads myself. I put on it "DISboards.com" and "princess@heart", laminated them, punched a hole in one ear  (sorry Mick!), and put some pretty ribbon through it to tie it to my day bag and luggage. Actually, the ones for our luggage just say "Phelps".

Sooo... my LGMHs are not Alien Green and they don't have the paint chip backing to them.

Wow! What a nice long vacation. I suppose, however, if I was spending that much on airfare and that much time on a plane, I'd be on vacation as long as I could, too! :lmao:

I wonder if we'll be on planes about the same amount of time? It will take us about 6 1/2 hours of flying time, 8 hours in all. I know it basically takes about 24 hours total travel time (including layovers) to get from here to Sydney.

Since we are travelling with our 3 DDs (5, 4 and 11 months) and my mum, we figured it would be better to have some semi quiet days. We are also going to Knotts Berry Farm, Sea World San Diego and of course - shopping!
DH and I have been to DL twice (before children), so it will be interesting to see how different this trip is.
I made priority seating reservations for Minnie's Breakfast on Mother's Day, so that should be fun!

We are coming from Melbourne and have a 3 1/2 hour flight to Auckland (NZ), 2 hour stopover there and then 11h 55m flight to LAX. Thankfully the 12 hour leg is at nighttime - hopefully the kids will sleep a large portion of it *fingers crossed*

melbarkwith ,

Wow, I can't even imagine my two DS'S flying that long, They get bored after one hour of flight time. Nice that you are flying at night so they will get some sleep. Hope you have a wonderful safe trip.

That's cool! I tried to convince DH to take the red-eye back home so we can just sleep on the plane and have an extra day at the parks, but he refused saying he couldn't take an extra day off from work to recoup. I think he could, but this is a fairly new job for him.

But since he won't take the red-eye, we leave Orange County at 10am and get home at 10pm. :sad2: That includes the time difference and 2 layovers. Had we taken the red-eye, it would have been a small layover in Altanta at about 5am instead of a layover in Salt Lake City and layover in Cincinati, but barely long enough to change planes!

I can't imagine a flight that long. Luckily for me, ours is just under 2 hours. I don't really like to fly. Hope you all get some sleep.

we will be there May 6 - 10th. The train will be working on Sunday. When we were there in Feb it was closed.
