Right now our reservations or for June 18th through 26th. It has now worked out we could go the last week in May (week before memorial day) which is when I originally wanted to go. I checked the Website and there are spots available that week at Fort Wilderness. My question is crowd wise would it be worth the hassel of changing reservations and rearranging work schedules to go that week.

We've gone to Disney during that week..and it was beautiful! The May weather is really lovely. We have vacationed in Disney many times in August, as that was when my husband could get the time. Last 2 trips have been in May...and I love it! You don't have the summer heat.
While we did stay at the WL..(have yet to bring our trailer to FW) we did rent bikes and go through the campground on both trips. I found it delightful. I know many years ago we stayed in the cabins in August, and weren't very happy with it. I'd love to be able to bring our trailer in May, it seems so much more comfortable, and enjoying the campground amenities more pleasureable than the August heat. I'm not sure about June, although we know someone who went to the campground the last week of June ...and they said it was pretty hot and humid. Given the chance to go in May..I'd take it.

As a Florida resident and frequent visitor to FW. I would chose May over June any time I could. The weather is usually beautiful. Not too humid and the chance for rain is much less.

The parks are not crowed and neither is the campground.

May is my favorite time of year to go to the World. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Although I don't think you can beat Disney at Christmas as far as decorations and Christmas magic, from a weather standpoint, I agree mid May is nicer. We have gone not only at Christmas twice, but also around Mother's Day in mid-May 2003 and for a couple of weeks around July 4th 2004. May was warm but not overly hot and we had one afternoon of rain. Compare that to the really hot days in June/July and rain nearly every afternoon/evening.

December we experienced some days that were nearly as cold as what we left in NY, just no blizzard! LOL

I would choose the week in May in a heartbeat. We are actually going that same week!! LOL. I researched crowd trends last year when we were deciding and the crowds pick up after the first week in June. So if you have the chance to go earlier, then I would!

I do dread being there over Mem day wknd but since we have APs we will just take it easy and come and go as we please.

We will be somewhere in a full hook up. Decided not to take the dog.
