We are trying to plan and budget for our next trip to WDW. It will be our toddler daughter's first trip :) We will be buying AP's for the first time, thanks to this site, we have realized how much better we can do for ourselves instead of always buying packages. Anyhow, does anyone know if we will have a better chance of getting a great AP rate in May or in July? I believe June is out as it is peak season. We don't really want to go in August or afterwards. So if anyone knows which month will get us better discounts, we appreciate it. Also, when would these rates come out?

Actually, June is regular season, as is May. Beginning July 4, most of the deluxes go into value season, but the value and moderate resorts stay in regular season until late August.

As for getting a good deal, you will probably be able to get a good deal in either May or July. If you're staying at a deluxe resort, you'll probably get the better deal in July (after July 4).

Also, just a couple of other things to consider before making your decision:
May has slightly less hot weather and less crowds, but the park hours are more limited, and fireworks are more limited.
July has long park hours and fireworks every night, but will be more crowded, and more hot and humid.

Good luck with your planning!

This doesn't really have anything to do with the cost of the room, but I will say that the weather was almost perfect this past May. We were there the week before Memorial Day and the weather was in the mid 70's, which if you know anything about Florida weather it can be blazing hot. Also it did not rain anytime we were there and we stayed for 8 days. It was even a bit chilly at night and we wore jeans and jackets. I think if you want to avoid the heat, go in May. Hope this helps!!!:)

We've never been in July, but have gone to WDW in May twice. Once the first week of May, and once the 3rd week of May and both times have been able to get an AP discount. To me, it's a great time to go since it isn't quite as hot and the Flower and Garden Festval is going on at Epcot which is very pretty. I can't remember exactly when the AP rates came out for May last year but I think it was sometime in February?

we were at wdw on july 4 and it was HOT! just know the parks are very very busy that day. we park hopped in pursuit of the july 4 th pins and all the parks were crowded.:p
