We are going to Disney in 3 weeks. DH is an attorney and has a trial that starts this Monday. But there is a slight chance due to overbooking at the court house that it may get rescheduled for 2 weeks later.
That would be the week we leave for Disney. Trying not to panic since we really won't know until Monday what is happening. He is hoping that it doesn't get moved or if it does they don't do it that week (he has a vacation notice on file with the court but they can disregard that if they want.)
So trying not to panic but to think of what we can/will do if the trial gets moved. We don't have trip insurance so cancelling is not an option. Can we change the dates of our reservation without a penalty? (Would probably go in January or February instead. But I really want to go when the Christmas decorations are up.) Can I change it so that my mom or brother comes in his place? (I would then also have to change the airline ticket. We are flying Southwest. I don't know their policy on this either.) There is also a slight possibility that the kids and I could go ahead and go and he can join us the next day. (We leave on Thursday and the trial hopefully would end on Friday.)
