Disney is our life :surfweb::wizard:

If we keep at this rate we'll have to start a new thread as they automatically lock at 250 pages.

I discuss with a colleague about our holidays, and his first reaction was ‘a cruise, it’s for old people!’
I understand his reaction because, even if it is not only for old people, there is no really family oriented cruise boat here in Europe, but I arrive to change his mind.

Only two weeks before our departure and we have not yet begin to prepare our luggage. :lmao:

Totally freaking out over my luggage situation. I just went to the Ryanair website and found out that they only allow 15kg per bag. That is only 33 lbs per bag:eek::scared1:

My suitcase weighs 1/2 that!!!!! They also charge 20Euro per kilo if you go over the 15kg. Guess I will be taking less and washing more. So glad I check, I would've stuff my suitcase full to try and use only one suitcase, but now I'll pack two suitcases lightly. Only problem is bringing my FEs, I don't know how I'm going to get all of them in my luggage and still have room and weight leftover to bring my clothes.

EVERYONE WISH ME LUCK. I'm going to pack this weekend and bring it all to work so I can weigh it.

I did see on the cruise website that an address was listed for the port. Does anyone know if we can mail something to ourselves at the port?

Cindy

I have officially notified the concierge of the finals. Jeff, could you add Kehonuamemano (1) and Amtrak 23 (2) to the list for the wine tasting. PLEASE everyone check this list and let me know if you are not on it. It gets kind of hard to keep track when one of my lists has DIS board names but the list I give to the concierge has real names but I think I have it all straight.

Done!

Stateroom Crawl: - Note we do not yet have a brave DISer volunteer for the Cat 10 stateroom. What the heck are these "steamer trunks" I keep reading about?

4-24-10 Voyage Navigator Online - Don't know if you guys noticed this but they've posted this HERE. You have to scroll down towards the bottom. You can see the shows they have planned. It's a bit weird that they only have the formal and 1 semi-formal night and their itinerary is different than ours. I'm glad we will indeed get to see "Walt Disney - The Dream Goes On" given the rave reviews it got on the EBTA cruise. :)

I've been "jonesing" over each new video, blog, whatever on the DIS main page and on cruise critic. Surprised at how short the ones on cruise critic are.
Also, if anyone is interested I'll be canceling a 12:30 pedicure appointment at the spa on the first sea day because it will conflict with the DIS wine tasting.
I was surprised to see so little availability left when I went to look at moving the date/time. I"ll wait to cancel until Saturday evening.
Looks like we have one time zone change while sailing? Can anyone confirm?

:lmao:I have been watching for page 200 also. :lmao: Really I have no life. In fact I was thinking the other night, 'What am I going to do after the cruise?' :lmao:

I am glad you got your ipad and all is well. I love your wife for what she did! I would have done the same to my DH!!:rotfl: Ain't love grand. :rotfl:

Jeff I think I have a cat. 10 room #2030- if it is I would be willing to volunteer our room.

I've got a 12 day vacation that I've been planning since the beginning of March to WDW. We will be there in September. Then I have no idea what I will do to keep myself occupied????:confused3:confused3

Maybe a day trip or two to DLPR will give my Disney fix:rotfl2:

I think you're right.

My research showed Tunisia has no daylight savings time (summer time) in 2010 so it is one hour behind all of the other ports.

Whee!!! :yay::yay::yay: 2 weeks from now, I'll be in Barcelona, trying desperately to stay awake so that I don't have horrid jetlag, and so that I can see some of Barcelona!!!!! 2 weeks from tomorrow, I'll be meeting you fine folks! :flower3: I can HARDLY WAIT!!!!!

Well, I've gotten my normal pre-vacation malady. (Something *always* shows up. My doctor always knows when I'm going on vacation!) Somehow, I've managed to irritate my tmj. Jaw clicks noisily. Fortunately, it's not painful, just annoying as hell... I'm hoping the Aleve helps. Fingers & toes crossed! It's better than the plantar fasciitis I always seem to get before I go to WDW! (Knock wood!)

Sayhello

You gotta love this cruise we are on page 200 and my parent's 12 night Baltic cruise only a month later has only 30 pages! They have about 30-40 people on their meets, that is going to be one empty cruise!

I heart you guys!:grouphug:

We will just miss each other - we'll be at WDW in OCT. :yay:

We've been in Barcelona a few days now, and have hit almost all of the main sights we initially intended to see, and I wanted to offer a few tips from our perspective.

If you've only got time to see one thing here, make it the Sagrada Familia church. I've been looking forward to seeing it for at least 10 years, and it far exceeded my expectations. I'd rank it as my second favorite church in the world (after St. Peter's in Rome). Danny thinks it might be his all-time favorite.

If you're familiar with that curch, you know that it's still under construction, and has been for about 120 years now. If I remember right, the adult ticket was 14 euro. You can take an elevator up into the bell towers in both of the facades (2.5 euro each). I think this would be fun for kids and adults, since there's a lot of twisty narrow staircases and amazing views one you get into the towers. If you only have time for one elevator, the Nativity facade might be the best one, since you get to walk across a bridge on the roof from one pair of towers to the other. The interior of the church is almost completely closed off, since they're in the process of removing all the scaffolding, the worker I talked to their said in hopefully 4 weeks it would be open again (so maybe when the cruise returns!). You can go inside, but it's a fairly small area. The basement is mostly open, and has a large historical display with models, sketches, and a movie. You also get a look into one of the workshops - when I was there, two people were working on some small plaster models of a lizard and some columns. In all, we spent about 5 hours there, including 2 half hour waits for the elevators and 20 minutes at the movie.

We visited the Casa Batllo, but felt this was overpriced (17.80 Euro), especially since you only get to see a portion of the house. For this reason we walked by La Pedrera and looked into the courtyard from the gift shop but didn't go inside.

Park Guell (free) might be a fun place to visit with kids. It's got some neat places to explore, like a big echoy hypostyle hall, the fountain with the famous, mosaiced Drac the dragon lizard, and a couple cave-like tunnels. It also seemed to have the best street performers in town (a didj guy, an akido-like sword martial artist who I sparred with, and a good guitarist). There's a museum in the park which you can visit in a combo ticket with the Sagrada Familia (5 euro on its own, or 2 euro in the combo ticket), but I'd only recommend that if you're into seeing Gaudi's furniture designs.

We saw that Barcelona has a couple of those double decker hop-on/hop-off tour buses, and there were discounts at some places for people on the bus, so that might be a good way to get around if you want to hit (or at least see) all the main sights.

Barcelona has a great metro system - it's fast, clean and pretty cheap. You can get a 10 ride pass that you can share with multiple people that brings the cost down to 0.78 euro per ride. There are also options for 1 or multi-day passes. Each stop has a map of the area and the metro exits, so it's easy to find your way. The cars themselves have maps with lights for each stop so you know exactly where you are and which stop you're approaching. The stations have digital displays that tell when the next train is arriving, and the longest wait I've had so far was 4 minutes, which was just after we missed a train.

If I've got time, I'll scope out the grocery and wine stores near the port (unless someone has already done this for one of the earlier sailings?)

Almost to 10 posts...

We're going to be there in Oct. too. Can't wait! We're also going in July, too. I love it there!

When will you be there in OCT?

We will be there from Oct 21 - 24. All the time we have been to WDW, but never for the Halloween Party.

We will also be on the Disney Dream and WDW in Oct 2011.

Are anniversary in Oct 18 so I try to plan vacations during that time.
