 at least Sodoku uses logic

But I think revenue maybe the key. Not only room, but maybe other revenue (Palo reservations, Spa treatments, Excursions, etc) How may of the people that got upgrades book stuff online?

I booked a cat 11 for myself and my child, who I had to pay for as an adult. We have at least 1 Disney excursion in each port as well as spa treatments and we received a cat 11 room.

I booked Palo dinner and a hand massage. No online excursions. *However*, I did book the ABD add-on; serious revenue there. So maybe you all benefited from my ABD connections? :confused3

Sayhello

Sleigh,

Did you book through DCL or someone else?

OK new theory. It goes by total revenue of the reservation. Several of you got great upgrades for 2 and 3 rooms. Our reservation was for 2 rooms and we were upgraded. The person with a 1 room GTY for level 10 might have been less revenue than 4 people in two rooms at level 12. Maybe. Any single room with no linking of reservations get upgraded to level 8 or higher?

Maybe I should stick to Sodoku it makes more sense.

Or life time customer value? Bringing a 11 months old on our first criuse. Think about all the potential revenue stream that they may get? Also, I booked all Disney excursion and max out on th nursery hours?

Through DCL. It also would have been our 4th cruise in in a little over a year, with 2 more before January 2011.

If I were you, I'd call DCL and tell them you've read on the DIS boards (they know all about the DIS) that Cat 12 GTY guests were being upgraded and that it doesn't seem fair that you paid more for a higher category and didn't get upgraded. What have you got to lose?

I also notice we don't have you on the Roll Call. Would you like to be added? :)

I did call and they said that it was not true that people would not be upgraded from a 12 to 6. After going back and forth with them, I decided to cancel this cruise as well as the other ones that were booked.

Yeah I think that we are thinking about the "how" probably more than the DCL workers assigning the rooms. ;)

By the way... still waiting for a room #... at this point I am just ready to get it over with so I can concentrate on something else for awhile.:thumbsup2 Whatever will be will be!

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. :sad1:

Just checked and we still haven't received a room assignment yet.

We activated this ressie last July transferred it to the Med sailing on 12-24. We've sailed Disney 3 times before, cruised 10 times total and also have a cabin on the Dream next May(actually three because were taking family.)
I have two spa reservations, 4 DCL excursions booked and transfers with them. We booked directly with DCL. Last name starts with "T" & have a week booked at the Poly in August. Thought I'd throw that into the mix!!!

Congrats to all on the pixie dust - hoping we gave an assignment by tomorrow night. The suspense is killing me.

Not sure about the revenue theory either.
We booked a cat 11 gty cast rate
5 excursions
3 palos
in January
and got room 2639 cat 11 :rotfl2:

Oh well, party in the bottom of the boat! :woohoo:

Congrats to all who got upgrades!!! So happy for all you all!! Still waiting to hear on mine. I booked late in February through a TA.

Still waiting for our room assignments:rolleyes1. Think I'd better get to bed for now and wake up early to look  Anne

:yay::yay:We got adjoining rooms #6114 (us) & #6112 (friends). We were hoping for a porthole or at least a split bath but never dreamed of a CAT 6!!

Well at least we can say with threw the dice... :confused3

We booked a CAT 10 GTY and got room 2545 CAT 10, at least we can say we tried to play the GTY game...

Sorry you didn't get an upgrade. For what it's worth, this is our 4th DCL cruise and we've always booked CAT 10 and always gotten CAT 10. This is our first time booking CAT 12 and our first upgrade ever.

Last cruise someone told me it was by order of booking date or paid in full date. I do not know if that is true.

We booked November 28 and paid in full in late January.

Did anyone receive an upgrade that did not book direct with Disney? Trying to determine if they start with those they didn't have to pay commission on. Dartboard still the best theory sor far.

We booked with Dreams Unlimited as well and got an upgrade.

I've heard first time cruisers have better chance of an upgrade. We linked our reservations with our friends, who has never cruised with DCL (or any other cruise line) before. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Still waiting here. I'll throw in some info to help with your theories :cool1: (I'll post my stateroom # when I get it):
Last name begins with "T"
Booked (& paid in full) 1/30/10 through Delta cruises
First time on DCL
Booked 2 DCL excursions for 2 people each, no spa or Palo res. yet.

Congrats to all those who've been upgraded & good luck to those still waiting!

Katie

We're still waiting too. Booked cat 11 onboard May 2009, downgraded to cat 12 gty on 18 Nov 2009. 2 excursions booked, 1 spa appointment and Palo dinner.

2nd time cruiser with DCL (and have 2 further cruises booked in the Dream)

The only logic to room assignments is that there is no logic.

Congrats on all the upgrades. v pleased for you all.

Hurry up dcl, i want mine now.

BTW - please bear with me updating roll call and FE list with room nos i'm on holiday this week so logging in when i get chance.

Jane
