Wow, its getting brutal over on the EBTA meet thread. I'm thinking they might mutiny by the 3rd sea day! I'm glad we all get along so well. :hippie:

Hmmmmm... Guess I need to jump over & check out the action.

I was gonna make some smart remark about us just faking we got along, but actually, we really do get along, so I don't want to jinx it! :rotfl:

Does anyone have tips on the best way to get to London centre from the airport? I checked a few websites for taxi and transfers and the rates seem to be all over the place from 75 to 150 GBP for 7 people.

I don't know if its the best but it is the cheapest and the scariest. We are doing 4 days in England precruise and we will take the Tube to downtown on the Picadilly line. We have done it once before and it was an eye opener. The only fuller trains were in Paris which was totally nuts. Shouldn't be hard to get on but train gets really full and trying to figure how to get out at the same stop is very difficult. Have to make friends and then hope you can all get out.

We are getting the 48 hour London Pass with travel so price of the Tube @ 6 pounds I think is included. Along with our admission to Hampton Court, Tower of London, London Bridge experience, Churchill war rooms, and the Thames river cruise. Will have to add the London Eye separately.

Of course we picked a hotel within a 100 meters or so of one of the Picadilly stops to make it easier.

So is anyone else on the May 13th 6:35pm flight to Barcelona from Philly? We change planes from Orlando and have a 1 hour layover. We are dying for a Shorti!!!! or soft pretzels!!! or Tastykakes!!!! There's a tip in it for you and I will worship the ground you walk on. :worship:

I am flying out of Philly at 4:35 and have a layover in Frankfurt before I make it to BCN at 9:50. I chose that because it was the least expensive shortest flight home from Paris.

It was ONE YEAR AGO today that my family booked this cruise! :cool1::wizard::yay:

We were on the 7-night Western and during our day in Cozumel, we booked onboard with Kylie on the 4th deck. At the time, this cruise seemed SO far away and I can't believe it's only 2 months away!

Ya!!!!! I'm SOOO excited for the Med Crusie. I can't believe how close it's getting. Remember when Dad did iChat and told me!? lol
:dance3:

Does anyone know if the gym is open on days when we are docked at the ports? I was looking on the website and could only find hours for days at sea. Certainly it's open on the other days too???

I'm pretty sure it's open every day...I don't know why it wouldn't be.

I added the barcelona transfer links to the web page in case there are others looking for that info. Also added a couple of links on the cruise ports. And cruisin momo provided the cutest pic of the DGD for the roll call. Check it out if you haven't already.

That's just silly. Someone gets their nose bent out of shape because they post something incorrect about the Palo dress code and others correct them? :rolleyes1

Changing subjects, if any or all of you solo ladies or anyone else out there would like to link up with us on the late seating dinner, let me know. We'd be happy to sit with fellow DIS'ers. :)

sarahgirl and jedijill & I were thinking about linking... personally, I'd love to link with you guys, too. Don't know how they'd feel about it; I'm sure they'll chime in!

Nine weeks from right now our group will be 1/3 of the way across the Atlantic, reading final Barcelona plans and catching up on the movies we pre loaded on our netbook. The girls will probably finish one movie before falling asleep and we'll be in Spain before they know it. Castilian tapes are coming along pretty well so I really hope to be able to at least understand somewhat when people are speaking to me in Barcelona.

Thanks for the info. When you took the train last time, did you have much luggage? Did you have little ones in tote? We're spending two days there precruise with another family, so it'll be 4 adults and 3 children. With bags and little ones (2, 6 & 7), I'm not sure if we can manage the train. It sure is a great savings though!

STLUCIELADY, I believe we are on your flight. We fly out of Orlando on U.S. Airways at 2:58 and then out of Philly at 6:30 on Thursday, May 13 arriving in Barcelona at 8:35 a.m.. You and I are the two ladies doing this whole trip with 1 carry-on! Look forward to meeting you. We live in Clermont, Florida.

I'm in! I already know that Jeff drinks wine so I won't feel like the lone wino at the table. :)

No kids, we left them home. We had 1 large suitcase each and it was stressful. People just keep coming till the trains are packed. Of course it was morning and there were plenty of commuters. I'd probably still try it but have a family conference before hand make sure 2 adults are off first and 2 off last with kids in between. It is pretty neat and you will want to use the tube while in town.

But, but I'm already spending 4 excursion tours with him in the same car!! If we spend any more time together we might start picking on each other like the EBTA people are doing. :lmao: It's fine with me :-) .

How many of you guys are bringing laptops or netbooks with you? I am thinking about purchasing a cheap netbook for the trip to store my photos in, but just dont know yet.
