We are not interested in the wine tasting....sorry. We would like to join a group dining in Palo, but i do not know if it is too late. I have tried to make a reservation but they seem all full.

We are still undecided about Tunis. We are not sure if we should go on our own by train or if we should hire a private guide? Can anyone tell me his plans?

Unfortunately, the group Palo brunches are full. The only tour provider I've been able to find in Tunisia is tunisiadiscoveries.com but I cannot find any recommendations for them; hence, I haven't booked with them. I have found a number of trip reports from guests that simply hire a taxi to take them around. The advise is to NOT hire one around the pier and they are very high and predatory. We're playing it safe and doing our one and only Disney cruise line tour here (4x4 Jeep excursion).

I've been trying for week to get a reservation for a brunch but no luck so far:confused3.

So If you can tell me when you will cancel your brunch, I will stay on the computer and hopefully I will get lucky. Of course, for me it is better after work since we are not allowed to go on the internet at work

Our family is riding the train to town in the morning and then taking the #4 tram over to the Bardo museum. I think we will skip the Souk (marketplace).
Reverse the trip have lunch on the boat. Afternoon take the train up to Sidi bau Said and look around. I want to stop by the North African american cemetary on way back but probably will run out of time. Take train back to ship.

A little leary of taking taxi's in Africa after our last ones in Alexandria and Izmir. I don't want to end up in some taxi drivers relatives shop again. No more leather factories, rug shops, coffee houses or berber carpet stores for me.

Thanks again to you and Susan for doing this. Could we have 2 more name cards please, as we will be having castaway lanyards for the first time, and it would be nice to keep both of them after.

Absolutely. I'm cranking up the Xyron laminator again tonight! :3dglasses

Here is the list by DIS name and quantity of lanyards. Check to make sure we're right and haven't left anybody off that's sent ebony (Jan) or me a request. We're now out of the black lanyards but I can make any number of the name cards/badges that can be put into your Castaway Club lanyards. I've also got 3 extra Castaway Club lanyards that I'll bring.

If you would like to stay in Valletta, a visit to St John's Co-Cathedral is a must. I also suggest a visit to the Upper Barakka Gardens from where you can see beautiful views of the three cities (Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea)and the entrance to the Grand Harbour.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you! We will definitely check out the Upper Gardens. How about food? Anything we should try while in the city? We will probably eat lunch there.

Is it possible or likely that we will be able to book a Palo brunch once we get onboard? I haven't seen an open spot since I first logged into the DCL website.

We logged in on the day everything was made available and only got Dinner. Will try to get brunch and high tea on board.

Welcome to our group :welcome:

Karen,

They cost me $1 each to make. If you'd like to donate to my lanyard fund, you can do so using paypal (jlspence@hiwaay.net) or you can donate when you pick up the lanyards on 5/15 (Embarkation Day).

Cool I am pleased that we can pay you on board, as I havent got an active paypal account at the moment.

Well I don't speak French so I am not certain. I am going by this website and Google translator. http://www.revesdecimes.fr/
The last page is the operating hours and when I type it in Google translator it says that from May 3 to June 18 it is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 6:00. Several months ago I tried to contact by e-mail but got no response. Of course they weren't operating at that time of the year and I e-mailed in English. If any of our French speaking cruisers could confirm that would be great. Lots of great pictures on their website and a few videos on youtube but again all in French and from 2007 and 2008 so can't guarantee it is open.

Two cruise operators are selling excursions from Ajaccio to somewhere so one must still exist. I figure our choices are a few Napoleon sites, mountains or beaches. Living in Hawaii we can go to the beach 365 days a year so mountains it is.

Here is the translation my husband sent over:

Parcours Aventure (Adventure Park)
From April 17 to May 2nd open every day from 10 am to 6 pm

From May 3rd to June 18 all Saturdays, Sundays and holidays 10 am to 6pm etc

Canyon
From April to October

Via Ferrata

All year long

Randonnee pedestre
All year long

Randonnee Raquette
Depending on Snow

So it sounds like its a go. Let me know if you need anything else translated from French.

We are doing the Blue Grotto excursion in the morning and then plan on going back to the ship for lunch and then head back into the city for a little more sightseeing... From where the ship docks, do you know if we can walk to St. John's Co-Cathedral or is a taxi needed? Just trying to figure out the layout so we know how far of a walk it might be!

Thanks and welcome to our group! :grouphug:

Looking at the map HERE it looks like it's just a few hundred meters.

I have a favour to ask if someone (or a couple of people) from the US will be willing to help me out.

Would someone be able to pick up a couple of bags of candy for me? :hippie:

There is a couple of candy brands in the US that Heath and I love but we don't have them over here in the UK. Our stocks are dwindling and i don't think i'll be making it to the US this year myself (although i'm still hoping for a fall trip to WDW).

Of course i'll pay for the cost of the candy and throw in a drink or equivalent little treat for your trouble. :wizard:

TIA

If anyone interested in a private tour villefranche please PM me. We may have a max of four slots available.

I am still looking into several companies but below is basically what we are looking at

4 hour Tour from Villefranche

Eze
Nickmamed the “eagle’s neast” of the côte d’azur perched on a rocky shelf 1200 feet above sea level. Charming medieval village : cobbled stones, artists and artisans shop.
Possibility to walk up to the exotic garden laid out in the ruins of the former castle and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Côte d’Azur or maybe enjoy a short guided tour at Fragonard perfume factory and learn about perfume process...

Monaco visit the old city which is called the “rock” discover the Cathedral, the Prince’s palace’square, maybe get a chance to see the changing of the guard (11:55am) ..

Monte-Carlo and its Glamour atmosphere : the Gran Casino, the Hôtel de Paris.surrounded by fascinating prestigious cars... then the harbour, where the Grand Prix motor race is held each year...

Nice
Picture stop at the Mont Boron built on a balcony overlooking Nice and with a fabulous panoramic view of the town...

What time would you get back to the Magic? We may be interested, but need to be back and on the Magic by no later than 5pm so we can get ready for our Palo reservations at 6pm.

Thanks Cindy

Perhaps one of the many experienced cruisers can help with this question?

I have read that everything can be charged to your KTTW card whilst on the ship but is it possible to pay in $?

Ben has been saving his Birthday money etc.. to buy Disney goodies whilst on the Cruise but obviously will not have charging privelages on his KTTW card as he is only 7.

Will he be able to pay for his purchases in cash?

We have independantly booked a Dolphin Swim for 1pm whilst visiting Malta
(It was much cheaper than the DCL excursion and I am told that it is easy to get there by bus)

Do you have any idea how long the actual Dolphin swim lasts and if there is enough to do at the park if we were to arrive at approx 10am?

I have tried to ask the questions by e-mail but cannot seem to get an answer

Any help you could offer would be much appreciated!

Short answer is No.

Onboard the ship everything is done via the KTTW card (except for tips). The stores and bars don't take any cash.

Your choices seem to be either DS is given charging privileges (if this is even possible for a 7 yr old) or you have to charge it to your KTTW and then have him pay you the cash for his goodies.

I might be able to help you out. What do you need?

I'm looking for the blue packs of both Jolly Ranchers and Lifesavers.

The Jolly Ranchers have Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, Grape, Apple and another favour or two.

The Lifesavers are the blue packet of individually wrapped mints.

I don't mind which size pack - but the bigger the better :lmao:

Huge Thanks if you are able to help. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for sending an e-mail. It appears there are at least 3 adventure parks on Corsica and I wonder if they are all operating. We had consdered the train but they appear to be to infrequent which is why we went the car route. We are willing to go to either park if we find 8 people and can make a reservation. I think the park in Vero also had a group discount if we had 10 people I think. Saved a euro or 2 per person.

I had no reaction to my mail. Then I have decided to contact them by phone (00334.95.21.89.01). They have confirmed that the adventure park of Vero will be opened on 23rd of May. In their publicity, they say that they are the largest on Corsica.
