ITA! Having stayed at both levels, we will never pay the extra for a moderate again over a value. I just don't see the reason to. They are way too spread out. The first time we were at POR, it rained and I mean POURED rain all week we were there. So, going to the main building was horrible, as of course we were about as far as we could get from it.

Good mind set, wish I had it. I don't care for the value resorts at all. It just appears to be so congested and closed in. I know the rooms are not that much bigger, maybe it's the lack of tranquility at the value resort that the décor and theming that the moderate provide. I need that restful ambiance, especially at POFQ after a long day in the park.

We stayed POFQ last year and found it to be wonderful. Can't compare to Value though, haven't done that - I'm a very picky person about hotel rooms, and I don't know if I'll every be able to do Value. Maybe.... Pop but, DH & I agree pretty much that the room is pretty important. Also POFQ is one of the smaller resorts on property. It's not spread out at all.

Have to agree with you. Wanted to try out a new place that's why we have reservations at CSR. Loved the BWV 2 bedroom the year we were able to get 40% off a value season rate split between my parent and us. The values are really noisy too. They probably are not any more noisy then the moderate but because my sences are overloaded it appears to be. My husband gave a fast thumbs down to the value resorts when I showed him the pictures of the resorts and their rooms, even Pop, which is the only one that I would consider.

I'm another who only needs a bed and a shower...so values are great for us!! We spend so much time at the parks and such, we are only at the room to sleep (maybe catch a quick swim before bed). I think if you spend a week or more at Disney and are doing the "relaxing" thing, you will spend more time in your room/at resort, therefore, the mods are more your speed. To each his own!! :rolleyes1 While keeping tabs on this thread, reading thru the posts, am I to understand certain resorts have waterbeds???? Uh-oh, that could be trouble...we sleep in a waterbed at home, making other beds on vacations rather uncomfortable for me/us. Now you have my attention :listen: ........What resorts have waterbeds???

Bubba's Mom, I believe the poster was referring to a water view, not a water bed.

DARN!!!!! :headache: (thanks anyway....but ya gotta admit, it IS a good idea... )

:wave2: Just woundering if you book a room(lets say AK) and you are not a AP member, when the codes for AP does come out can you buy the AP and then apply the codes? Or do you have to be a AP first and then, use the codes? I know the is general public discount codes but it sounds like Annual Passholders get the first heads up on the codes.

phoned to day still no codes

Hurry up please

You only have to have your AP to check in not to make ressie's. I have a voucher which we will activate once we get there.

We felt this way too and thought we couldn't stay anywhere else but AKL. With our short weekend trip last month, we stayed value since it was a value kinda weekend. We were pleasantly surprised that we had no issues with it and now know that if going to Disney sooner and more often means staying value...we are all for it. Really didn't think we would be. Same with cruising, we HAVE to have a balcony cabin, never stayed inside, don't think we could. But maybe we can!

still waiting on ap rates here. I called ms with dvc membership to add on my extra day with 25% off. still waiting. . . .at least i have my back up plan ready!!

I am growing so very old waiting for these codes. It's a good thing Disney makes us young again. I'm really gonna need it.

I've been watching this thread every day hoping....

Hopefully soon Disney will end the wait and we'll all be happy.

someone call today and see what they say

Feb. 17th is one week from today... and that was one date that was mentioned as a possible release day

I called and book our 12 days!! He said the codes will not be out till March. Thats what I remember from last year. I remember it being real close to Easter.

I am so positive that I now need your help in deciding between AK or WL? I currently have a reservation at CSR at the rack rate of $149.00 per night for 9 nights. Really would like to pay no more then $104.00 per night and I would be willing to change resorts to POR or POFQ, Really would have to think long and hard about CBR but would jump on it if I got a rate of $94.00 per night. I just would really like to be prepared in case I am given the option of a discount room at AK or WL for less then or equal to what I have already booked at CSR. I really don’t find the rooms in either that appealing; they look dark and somewhat drab to me. I would book a standard view so the animals will not be a factor. I originally thought that I would prefer the WL because of the location, boat ride to MK right? If the discounted rate difference is only $19.00 between a moderate and those two I think it would be a no brainer. I think I have heard that you can occasionally get those two for $123.00, if so and the moderate is only $94.00 my decision gets a little harder. I know it is only $29.00 a night more but I don’t know if the $261.00 will be worth it.

Why do you not stay at both
that is what we are thinking of doing if we get a good discount mod POR half the stay and the AK/ WL second half

waiting waiting waiting :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :hourglass

My husband would kill me if we moved resorts. Once we get set up, fridge stocked, cooler stocked, hamper for dirty laundry in place he doesn't want to mess with packing it all up. I wouldn't mind it though and the next trip when it is the daughter and I we will probably do that.

I think that I have decided on sticking with a moderate, you have the coffee pot and fridge now in the room at no additional charge, they don't have that at AK or WL yet do that?

I'll have to keep that in mind! Maybe one day. We are going to try WL this trip. Our honeymoon was my DH's first cruise. Not only did we have a balcony, we essentially had a mini-suite (Cat 9A on Carnival). We've been thinking about a cruise and trying to afford it by thinking about an inside cabin! I think I could do it because it'd be worth it just to be on a cruise!
