The Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy are SHIPS. A boat goes on a ship, like those yellow things on deck 4.

Thank you. I feel better now.

Being one cruise short of the Grand Slam Plus club, I recall fondly our trip in 1991 on the Big Red Ship.

Wait. So a ship is a big boat? ;) How MUCH bigger? Now the English teacher in me is getting all worked up.
Anyway, I think Big Red Ship is kinda' catchy!

So for example a destroyer is a boat cause ot can be put on a ship and moved around (that is how the USS Cole was transfered home after the bombing) it is technically a torpedo boat but is often called a warship or ship because of its size.

Normal rule of thumb is if it can fit on a ship and be transported around its a boat.

More importantly, what about the "Love Boat"!

Are you telling me TV was wrong?!

Or that there is a ship big enough to hold the "Love Boat"?

ah, memories...

So then the Wonder and Magic are boats since the Dream and Fantasy ships are bigger?

(runs and hides under a large vessel)

I was intrigued by this an after some digging (nearly 2 hours!!! lol!)
it seems the Royal Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London deems that "What is the definition of a boat versus a ship?
The Historic Ships Committee have designated a vessel below 40 tons and 40 ft in length as a boat. However, submarines and fishing vessels are always known as boats whatever their size."

And the Big Red Boat II was under 40 tons 32,753 tons, so she was actually a boat! Not a ship after all!! :lmao::rotfl2:
