May Fun, Fun, Fun at the Boardwalk - Updated P.5 Going Home - The End

So pretty, Clare! Were you on the same floor as the lounge? There are 2 club level floors right? Do you see any disadvantage to either floor? Is one more desirable than the other?

Yes, my rooms was the 2nd room on the left as you entered the club level :)

The club level floor is actually the 4th floor, when you come out of the lifts you walk half way down the hallway and where it branches right it becomes the InnKeepers club, at the entry there's a desk manned between 7 am and 10 pm, then you have a door which is accessible by your room key, that's the hallway in the photo, this has standard club level rooms and a few deluxe club level rooms and also the lounge. There are also some deluxe club level rooms on the 3rd floor, but they are not in a separate key access area, they are on a 'normal' floor, but your room key will be able to get you on the 4th floor club level to access the lounge. I personally would prefer to be on the 4th floor, it's nearest the lounge and the CMs and I also like to be in a separate area, but that's just one of my little quirks lol However, the deluxe club level rooms on the 3rd floor have larger balconies than those on the 4th floor.

Also, the garden suites are accessible via the gardens only, so it's quite a hike to the 4th floor.

hmm Now I am confused. When we stayed last year I could have sworn we were the first room in and that was the Deluxe suite- then the one next door was the even fancier swankier one? Do I have my rooms mixed up? We were right after you opened the glass door. I think? Maybe not? I'm hoping our room is in the same location this year I would be disappointed to be downstairs I think?

Love the latest update :thumbsup2 Thanks for including so many pictures and details. It's helping us prepare (and look forward to) our trip in a few weeks! :goodvibes

We're trying to figure out the coffee situation and were wondering if the room had a microwave. I didn't think so, but we'll be in a deluxe room so I thought maybe there would be?

Thanks, and keep up the great report :) :)

Enjoying your report. I was in AK on that same Friday but I think you might have already left when we got there. That was our last full day. We started at MGM (did Toy Story Mania 3 times & Backlot tour), got to AK about 12ish-got fast pass for Safari then had lunch, got fast pass for Everest then did Safari-then the gorilla walk then the tiger walk. Funny thing is we saw 5 tigers that day. More than I ever have. One of them was swimming-quite a site!

Then we went back to our resort AKL for a swim-it was SO hot that day. Then dinner at Narcoosees at GF. Then we went to MK for Wishes. A whirlwind day for our last full day.

That's right, first on the left once through the glass door was the deluxe room, then 'my' standard room, next to my room was another standard room, then next to that was the Steeplechase suite - if you look at pictures of the Boardwalk there's 2 standard rooms above Spoodles, with covered balconies, next to those 2 rooms you can see the huge balcony of the Steeplechase suite.

Ah thanks! That makes sense! We went into that Steeplechase suite just to look when they were cleaning it(pre redo) and it was swanky then I can't imagine it now.

Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying your TR. We r going back home to BWV in just under 8 wks and I'm getting so excited.:cool1:

Sounds like a fantastic last day - and with 5 tigers too!

I love looking at other people's pictures so wanted to include as many as I could with my own reports. I'm not sure if you can request a microwave, might be worth asking when you arrive, or perhaps beforehand with the IPO?

I would love to stay in that suite, maybe one day if I won the lottery ;)

Thanks - it's a great feeling leading up to a holiday isn't it :woohoo:

I just loved the view from my room, first thing I did each morning was open the curtains, swing open the door and listen to the music playing down below on the Boardwalk.

Another quick breakfast in the club lounge and we caught the boat to Hollywood Studios, which like Magic Kingdom the day before appeared quiet.

First stop was the Great Movie Ride, it's a tradition that we always have to do this ride first. There was no line at all so straight on. I was meeting some CM friends for an early lunch so I said my goodbyes to Mum & Dad who were staying on in the park - apparently they then did Star Tours 3 times in a row (Mum loves this ride!) with no wait, the Muppets twice in a row (Dad loves this show!), again with no wait, and generally ambled around the park at their own pace for the rest of the day.

I was meeting my friends at Animal Kingdom Villas (Kidani Village) as Brandy now works there. I arrived before them (on purpose) so took a few photos, the villas are gorgeous, the only thing for me is they're a bit out of the way, but they really are very nice.

John and Brandy arrived at 12 and we went to Sanaa for lunch, it had only been open for 12 days so was still in it's 'teething' phase, but we had a fabulous meal with no issues at all. There are floor to ceiling windows around the restaurant and we were lucky enough to be sat next to one where we could see the animals outside.

We had a great meal, here's some food pictures - it's on my definite must do to return.

Potato and pea samosas with mango chutney - absolutely delicious!

Club sandwich (with turkey bacon instead of 'normal' bacon), served with a side of chickpea/cucumber/tomato salad

Tandoori chicken wrapped in naan bread with minted greens, tomato and cucumber yoghurt raita

As I only get to see them once a year we had some 'serious' chat time before saying our goodbyes, me heading back to the Boardwalk and they both having to work.

What I love about the Boardwalk are the little touches, these flower pots are on the outside patio.

I had some 'chill' time, i.e. an afternoon sleep, before going to the lounge with my parents to see what today's offerings were - chicken kebabs in a cider sauce and steak kebabs in a spicy rub from Big River Grill. We all tried one each and all agreed they were delicious. The food offerings at the Boardwalk seemed to be much better than those offered during an earlier stay at the Yacht Club.

Late afternoon the heavens opened, and boy did they open! It rained for hours and hours - we were having a 'family' meal tonight our plan of getting the bus to the MK and then the boat to the GF where we were having dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe (one of our favourites). didn't materialise - we caught a taxi! We had a great meal but it was still raining by the time we'd finished so we caught another taxi back to the Boardwalk where we made a quick stop at the Bellevue Lounge to catch some friends, and then up to the lounge for some chocolate covered strawberries and another drink (or 2), before calling it a night.

I loved these lights above the sinks - see the Mickey heads.

Turndown each night - a cute little card and some taffy

I'm really enjoying reading your report. I wanted to ask about the chances of a Standard room and Deluxe room on CL being near or next to each other. We have one of each booked for our first night at Disney at the BWI, and our oldest 4 children (20,18,16,15)will be in the standard room. The CM was quite certain they'd be able to get us near each other(within a room or two away) but definitely on the same floor. Does that seem like it should be possible from your knowledge of the floors and rooms?

Thanks:-)

Clare, thank you so much for your TR. I enjoyed the reading. Only a few more days until my visit.

Were the GF Muffins any good? I and two of my children have food issues and Disney does great job to accommodate.

I was in room 4253, on one side of my room was another standard room and on the other was a deluxe room (I can't remember the numbers I'm afraid) :)

OMG, you lucky thing! :goodvibes

The GF muffins are excellent, I've also had GF muffins at the GF and the YC and the BW muffins really are the best. A word of warning though - they are huge! I could only eat half of one. I had a different one each day, chocolate chip, blueberry or cranberry, all were very good.

Me too! This is the 3rd time I checked today for an update...;)

I'm sorry guys, I'm having trouble with photobucket - I had to reload the photos yesterday which took for ever. I'll get onto it again later today when I get home from work (about 3pm US time).
