MAY Countdown!! This is it, folks

We changed out plans from February to May 8-14th staying at the Grand Californian villas.

Anyone know what time the park will close on the 11th for Grad night? Thinking about taking the kids to one of the dinner shows?

may 27-31st staying desert inn 4 adults one kid
Added!!! welcome!

Just booked HoJo for May 27-June 1. I splurged and got the theme park view. It's in bldg one which seemed like the only negative was perhaps a bit noisy and no microwave. For a view of the magic, I decided to risk the noise. And I don't care about the microwave. From Ohio our family's first trip to DL.

Excited! A million things to figure out between now & then!
Welcome!!! added you as well. Yes the noise also worries me, but I booked a kids suite, also in bldg 1 but facing the hway :sad2:

We just booked HoJo for May 19-24. :woohoo:

add us please.
With pleasure!! :thumbsup2 Your dates are on!!

We are going May 11-17 staying at the carousel inn! :cool1: Its me and my boyfriends first trip away and I convinced him he would love Disney! To be honest he didn't take much persuading, so its my grand master plan to make him love it as much as I do so we can keep coming back! :lmao: First time in May for me, looking forward to low crowds *fingers crossed*!
:cheer2: we'll keep our fingers crossed!! Also 1st time for us in May (DL, done WDW in May before) so hopefully will be less crowded than our 1st visit.

Actually, there's information here on the DIS. I put the link in Post #15, which you can access from Post #1.:thumbsup2
I've already checked, but no hours are post yet, I even went to the Grad Nites website.
But it does seem that it's an all day event.

I think grad nites are in the evening.

Hi there! Tentatively planning for April 30-May 3! We don't have anything booked or tickets bought, but we are definitely planning on it!

Which Goofy's ride are you all talking about? Goofy's Sky School? If so, I'm not sad about that one being down (not that I can ride it anyway since I'm pregnant, lol).

For now, we're planning to stay at the Quality Inn & Suites.

Hi all -- as you can tell from my ticker, we'll be doing a Wild West road trip this summer and DH has agreed that if we're going to be that close, we just have to stop for a quick trip at DL. :thumbsup2 That said, I'm not sure what day(s) we will be there, but I'm guessing May 29-30.

This will be a 1st trip for our whole family and though I wish we had longer to spend, I know that we'll just relax, do what we can, and save anything we don't do for another vacation!

I read somewhere that Grad Nites used to be in the evening, but now they have access all day...
Yes, it's Goofy's Sky School, I so wanted to ride it because I love Goofy :lovestruc but it will not open until Summer...

Wow what a trip!! Sounds pretty exciting!! :cheer2:

BTW, Added both of you in Post # 1

After a 2-year hiatus, we're going back! :cool1:
May 5-10, staying at the Paradise Pier

Thank you for all the information about the goings-on in May - has anyone been during a past AIDS Walk at DLR (since there's going to be one during our visit)? Do they essentially shut down the parks until the event is over, or can guests still access the parks like normal and certain areas are off-limits?

Are you sure soaringirl? I know you said it was one of skiingfast's posts and she (he?) is quite reliable for information, but could you point me to where you saw the post?

I have checked some of the other Disney fan sites and there has been no mention of Goof's Sky School being down for refurb in May. I have seen one other instance of old information not being updated on the Dis info pages (everyone does their best but it is a lot of data to have to keep track of!) and its possible that "not open until Summer" is referring to last spring when MM was being transformed to Goofy's Sky School.

I rode it when it was Mullholland Madness and didn't like the way the track was built. Was not a favorite of mine  and it doesn't look like they changed the track, so even if I could ride it, I don't think I would! lol :faint:

Thanks for asking about this. I will be there at that time too and was wondering about the same thing, so looked up the schedule for the AIDs walk in Orange County this year. It starts at 6:30 AM and the walk ends at 9:30 with closing ceremonies at 11:00. It covers the parking structure, DL, DCA, and DD although not sure in what order. I suspect MM will be cancelled that day. Further delayed opening ??? Anyone who has been there during a time there was a morning walk-a-thon please chime in on what DL has done in the past with the schedule.

Ok just booked it so now it feels official. We will be there from May28th to June 1st (first and last day are travel days so 3 days in the parks). We are staying at the Desert Palms.

You might be right! I thought it was open in Summer 2011, then I read on a skiinfast post, so I checked Disneyland's website: here's the link.

And now I'm thinking I read an older post of skiinfast :scared1: since I can't find his post anymore!!!!

I just saw another thread confirming that it is open right now. Maybe the info was old after all.

our stay is from May 24th - 27th in the Grand Villa of VGC!! Yeah!!!! so excited!!

I did some more investigation and found a link that says that it WILL be closed April 9th-June 1st. (I haven't made enough posts to have links yet, or else I would post it here. ) I don't know why it would possibly need such a long refurb when it JUST opened last year. Doesn't make much sense. :sad2: Maybe they didn't finish it the way it was supposed to be and now they have to get it up to specs before everybody shows up for Carsland. I was looking forward to it too.

Oops! so I wasn't in the Twilight Zone???? I did ask in another post and they say it is open. :confused3 We need more info!!!

It is listed here, but I could not find it anywhere else:
