May change week of trip - how's late October?

DH just mentioned that he saw US's Halloween Horror Nights episode on the Travel Channel and thought it would be cool to do WDW & US for Halloween. We have previously been over Thanksgiving and planned on doing so again in 2004, but may now consider the last week of October instead.

What are your thoughts on October? What's the weather, how are crowds, what are the room rates (is it still Value Season?)?
I'll be doing a search momentarily (provided it's working) to find more details on my own, but appeciate your insight. :

I've never toured WDW in October so I'm just going to bump this back to page one for you. I'm sure some of our veterans will have some great advice.
