May 9, 2012: 5 Night Bahamas Cruise on Disney Magic

Oh Kelly that stinks! I am so not a camper!!!! Actually I would probably make really good TV for a camping reality show

I feel for ya! I am not a camper either, and the only time I did go "camping" was in my parents 30' motor home 3 years ago when we met them at WDW Wilderness Campground and stayed for a week. That was so much fun!! Leave it to Disney to make camping amazingly fun! But again, I wasn't in a tent like the people next to us when it was pouring down rain in the afternoon. I was doing a load of laundry and making myself a sandwich while watching TV! My way of camping.
However!! I do have an unforgettable moment in my life that will forever be the Day The Magic Died. While my DH and the kids were out doing great Disney stuff my Darling Mother decided to do our laundry. As we were returning back to the campground, my husband starts laughing hysterically. And then he asks, "Are those your UNDERWEAR hanging on the clothes line????" OMG mortified what did I do..... I grabbed my camera and took a picture and made a digital scrapbook page titled The Day the Magic Died. Mothers........

LOVE IT!

I went and seen Titanic yesterday. I know probably not the best movie to see before we cruise. But I love that film. Me and hubby went and seen as we do not get out much do to his work schedule. I thought it was beautifully done. It was better than most 3D films. But I would of probably went and watched again if it was just 2D.

Ya but that was like 100 yrs ago and since then only 1 other ship partially sunk... bring on my cruise! LOL

All this talk of camping has me itching to get our tent out, hop on the road, and find a place to get us staked up for the weekend! I'm weird, I know! Then again, we also enjoy watching "Poseidon Adventure" right before going on a cruise, and have been known to bring the DVD with and watch it while sailing the seas. I'm always certain if anything happens to us, I will easily find Gene Hackman to lead

I was going to ask earlier if anyone had any fun plans!

We are just hanging out since DH can't travel anywhere (3 people TDY and 2 on leave already) Having an egg hunt and brunch/dinner feast here at home on Sunday. That's about it.

My DH is a pastor so holidays are BUSY for us! We have 2 Good Friday service and 3 services on Easter. We will be celebrating w/my fam on Sat

PS - without giving away the whole surprise, I do want to let everyone know to not bother bringing a beach ball if you're on the FE list. I'll make sure we deliver our goodies on the 1st or 2nd day. Don't worry, you'll still be surprised. I just didn't want everyone to waste any precious luggage space.

I guess I really dont fit in with this crowd. . . we absolutely LOVE camping!! We started in a tent, moved to a pop-up camper, and are now in a travel trailer. We love everything about it! Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Tetons, Rocky Mountain, I could go on and on! We typically go for at least one two week trip every summer. No tv, phone, computer, internet, just some great family time!! Hiking, campfires, lake days, sight seeing. . . .heaven! ALL of our vacation time goes to either camping or Disney! Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

Nope.. leave the group! KIDDING! I've gone camping a few times with HUGE groups.. like 50+ people and honestly it really is a blast! We stayed in those itty bitty cabins on stilts If it were my choice... I would book us all at the hotel. Thankfully there was a Starbucks near by so we could make a run a bring some 'Bucks to camp.

Well Im actually having a crappy day here. My apt didn't go as well as I would like. Basically, the infection destroyed my foot So he gave me another cortisone injection. He used like an x-ray though so he could inject into the exact joints needed. He said I can do as many as I need. He isnt worried about the injections hurting the area because I will need another surgery in the future reguardless. Im hoping this injection lasts longer than the last 1 did. Then he sent me to get fitted for a brace. My new stupid insurance wont cover it. So there's $379. Sorry Im a downer. I know it could be so much worse, it still stinks though. When is that vacation????? 30 days and we'll be in WDW! Lord I need it!

So sorry to hear about your foot Christina. That sounds horrible (and painful!). I hope it's not too bad for the trip. **fingers crossed**

I too have insurance fun ahead of me - got a letter yesterday from the hospital where I had my vein surgery done in January. They still haven't received their $17,000 from Cigna and were hoping I could contact them to help. I'm really looking forward to that call... Gotta love insurance companies...

Yellowestone, Yosemit, Grand Tetons..... That sounds awesome! Let me introduce you to Iowa style camping. Some mosquito haven site off of the Mississippi river no toilet in the 70's, so no toilet means you get real familiar with the GROUND! I know TMI right??!! Or another GEM of a location like a small lake just big enough to pull 50 campers up to, pop a lawn chair drink some beers and chill out to Lynyard Skynyrd! Did I mention I was 9! Great fun for kids. Yea, I'm scarred for life.

Don't get me wrong ... I love camping, backpacking, etc. The middle of summer in Missouri just isn't good for anything except for swimming & something indoors. It gets well over 100 degrees with 100% humidity here. Don't know how you Floridians do it. Otherwise, send me out in the wild!! It's the hubby (who is a die-hard military vet) whose butt's gone soft. Not mine. Well, it has but not in that way.

I'm soooo sorry about your foot!! At least you have some fun stuff to distract you for a while. I really hope it gets better soon.

Re: the FE - I just shared a tinsy bit about ours only b/c I don't want folks to have to lug 1 around if they didn't have to. The rest is the surprise. With that said, I hate holding back secrets too.

So a couple nights ago (during the day in the USA), DH got a message on FB from his aunt asking where he was. A few hours before that his granny had gotten a phone call from someone who sounded like DH saying that he had driven down to Mexico with some buddies and was in jail and needed her to wire him $2500. Granny thought it sounded like DH and just about wired the money! At least she call his aunt first, who talked her down. His aunt happened to be at the doctor's office at the time and used one of their computers to get some phone numbers for the State Department and called some of them and all of the people they talked to said it was probably a scam. Then DH's aunt remembered that she had seen him post a couple hours before on FB and it said he was in Taiwan! DH called Granny and told her to call him next time to see where he was (we have a US phone number family can call) and she said she didn't want to get a hold of me in case I didn't know (in case I didn't know my husband had flown 24 hours to Mexico from Taiwan??). She also told DH that she hadn't been sure if Mexico was closer to her or us! Poor Granny. After Granny got calmed down, she asked DH if I was in bed asleep. (All of this is going on at midnight our time). DH told her yes and she said she had some things she had been wanting to talk to him about and proceeded to tell him to tell his in-laws no and not to go on the cruise. She's afraid the girls will fall off the boat. My parents aren't going and it was all our idea! After DH told her it was a Disney cruise, then she said that that was alright then! Disney has lots of activities for kids (that will keep them from falling off)! LOL! She called last night after I was in bed to make sure DH was still in Taiwan!

My diet is not going well. It seems no matter how hard I try it stays the same or goes up. I guess I will be stuck wearing a one piece. I have been exercises 3-4 times a week and nothing. Maybe it is the lack of sleep. I do not eat fried foods, fatty foods, etc... My weakness is stuff like gummy worms and Twizzlers.

I have to get started on my FE stuff. I have one of my projects partially started and I bought one of the items for it it the other day.

Still no cruise documents. I guess that is because TA (TA is local and as a location in town that I pick up the documents from) (glad last trip booked with them booked my own on other trips) decided to take an extended weekend.

Taking a break from school work today will start on it tomorrow Maybe I will get to sleep before 4:00am beside the neighbors dog is barking giving me a headache. I do not mind dogs but his barking is excessive.

I'm so with you. My mom came in last night w/ 2 freshly baked pound cakes (she's a chef trainer) and I just had to make my pecan pie. I'm sure the whole 2 pounds I'v lost in the past 2 months will be found by the end of this week.


On a good note - our cruise docs have arrived!!! Yippee!!

My DH always checks and sorts the mail. Today when he came home I rushed over and he tried to give me a kiss but I was too distracted and snatched the mail out of his hands. He said, "What is in there that you are so excited about?" And I spotted the envelope and SQUEALED and then proceeded to dance around singing, "Our cruise documents, it's really real!" And then I opened it and got all teary eyed. I am blaming it on the hormones. Yes, he then got his welcome home kiss.

All the dieters out there, I had great luck using myfitnesspal.com (they have phone apps as well). DH has lost 15 pounds in 3 months just by being more aware of how many calories things have and exercising a little bit more. I was losing 1-2 pounds a week using it... then I got pregnant.

However, you can all feel better knowing I gained FIVE POUNDS in Vegas. I think I've shed at least one of them this week but... yipes.

I also think I have my FE stuff mostly around, but I need to put it together and do the (very few) little handmade bits. I feel so behind.

I went to the ER Thursday night with horrible stomach pains. I have an ulcer and I am on antibiotics and a lactose free diet for the next week. Just hoping it gets cleared up before the cruise. I am feeling better this morning, so that is a good sign.

Thought I'd pop in really quick and say a quick hi I just finished making Tiramisu for tomorrow. My WHOLE family celebrated Easter today and then my sister is having a low key lunch after church at her house. We are also celebrating my BIL's Bday. My tiramisu is his favorite. Im exhausted tho. Thanks I checked it out is really cool. I enterd my excercises and food in for the last three days and today it gave me a warning I was not consuming enough calories My problem is carbs and sometime calories. The last three days my fat was under the goal amount for the day.
