I'm looking at booking a trip to DLP in May 2016 (I know forward planning) and I know that May 8th is WWII Victory Day (la fête de la victoire, le jour de la liberation) a public holiday in France, but was wondering what happens when the 8th falls on a Sunday?

Do they move the Public Holiday to the Monday? or is it left on the 8th May regardless of the day of the week. Here in the UK if a public holiday date falls on a Saturday or Sunday they move the public holiday to a Monday, so was wondering if France does the same.

No sadly :worried:

It is always on the day it falls on so if it falls a day when you are off already that's just hard luck.

It's especially annoying when it's Christmas day or New Years day or the 1st of May which is supposed to be the workers day off

Thank you - well that's a shame they don't move the Public Holiday due to weekends. Well at least I know now that the park will be quite on my arrival day of the 9th May.

If its ok to ask here - any idea when to expect these dates to be released?
I'm also forward planning for May 2016. It'll be my 30th birthday that May and DLP is where I'd like to be :goodvibes

I booked my May 2016 trip yesterday, and the booking window on the UK site is open up to 31 Sept 2016 with a 2 nights, 2 days free offer running.

How did I miss that!? Thanks Jonjo. Time to have the chat with my husband :goodvibes

Time to have 'The Chat' sounds ominous. Is that when you tell him these are the dates we are going in 2016 and can I have your bank card please to pay the deposit :rotfl2:
