May 8th sold out and we were upgraded...whoohooo...cabins in the 2000's????

We just retruned from the Wonder, and were 2600 loved it. it is on the noisy list but we heard nothing . enjoy you upgrade

I was 2518 on my last cruise. It's on the noisy list. The room wasn't even remotely noisy. I suppose the logic is it's noisy because it's under a bar. In fact, it's under the new sports bar which is definitely not noisy, so there was no issue.

I booked a similar room (2514 or 2516 - I can't recall exactly) a couple doors up the hall for my next cruise.

Frankly, I think the noisy list needs revising and causes folks unecessary worry.

I've never even seen a noisy "list"...? Where can I find out specific information on a particular cabin being noisy?!!?

We already recieved our documents & no upgrade for 5/13....... how did you find out about your upgrades? Did you call DCL or did they call you? Well, maybe it's better that we didn't get an upgrade because then the next time we go & don't get an upgrade we'd be dissapointed(if you couldn't figure it out that's me trying to make myself feel better about not getting one, OF COURSE I WANT ONE!!! ) Ok, maybe next time, congrats to all of you who DID get them, you should come work with me, I'm a gymnastics teacher so you really CAN to cartwheels at work!!

Princess49--Don't feel too badly about upgrades! They are VERY RARE most of the time and I think it's just pure luck who gets upgraded and who doesnt. We've been on probably 18 cruises (not all dcl) and this upgrade is the first one EVER! I am excited about the balcony for the porthole price but I'm nervous about getting sick being so far forward so it may not be such a great upgrade!!!

Don't fret...just being on the cruise is awesome!!

Anyhow...I called the TA for my docs and they called the cruise line to find out that they had actually BEEN mailed last week to the TA. It was then she said I should have them in about anohter week and the good news about my upgrade.
If you have a cabin assignment you will not be upgraded. Only the GTY (guaranteed) cabins have room for upgrade without costing extra. This is so they can resell the lower priced ones if the higher category cabins do not sell all out...as the lower (obviously) are easier to sell.
You will have a great cruise anyway.

We got our upgrade and had cabin numbers assigned to us the day we put in our deposit! We booked our trip 215+ days early, picked the rooms left in the Cat 8's which were 6024/6026 connectings and were satisfied. Then we got an email saying we had been comp upgraded to 8504/8506 just last Thursday. I think people who book GTY probably get upgraded more but there are some who have specific rooms booked and get upgraded...it's just upgrades seem to be very rare.

We had a great room in 2504 in the front of the ship. It was a longer room then other cat. 9's. Our cabin steward told us that 2004 and 2002 are also bigger cat. 9 rooms. It was very quiet up front. I loved it and wouldn't hesitate to do it again! Have fun!!

Congrats on the upgrade.

Just returned from the 7 night Eastern. We have been in 6500's for the past two years and this time we booked 2110 for May 2005. I've read elsewhere on the boards that rooms in this location are great! Not too far from the laundry, elevators etc. 2110 is under Promenade Lounge which is pretty mellow in the evening. The pothole was very attractive for us. 6500's are inside rooms with no clues as to whether it's day or night.

GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was filling out my cruise documents that came about 2 weeks ago & as you can tell from my previous post I was a LITTLE sad about not getting an upgrade. Well I went to look on DCL website just to be sure & RIGHT THERE IN BLACK IN WHITE WAS OUR UPGRADE!!!! YIPEE!!!! Here I thought all hope was lost because we recieved our room assignment but NO!!! I am going to do some EXTRA cartwheels tomorrow, some for you AND me!!!!!

I was sitting at my computer today looking at the window when a UPS truck pulls up in front of my house! I knew exactly what he was bringing and my DD5 and I opened the door and basically gobbled up our documents! Boy did that driver leave cracking up! {I'll never forget that moment, staring out the window and up comes a UPS truck with my cruise docs}


We have a decent 10:30 am flight out of LAX for Friday 5/7, two rooms at the MCO Hyatt. I'm happy with that. Even better, a departing time of 1:30 pm - last year it was 6:00 pm and we had to get a day room at the MCO Hyatt!

This means tomorrow I get to call the limo service and Shirley for our baskets!

I'm so excited!

I'm still waiting for our May 8th docs...they should be here today or tomorrow according to Disney!

OMG it's contagious. So nice to share the happiness with all of you.
I have 2000, the very first cabin in the front of the ship. I have heard good and bad things about this cabin, but how can a cruise be bad? And let me tell you I AM a sleeper so I won't have a problem with the noise.
I am so happy for all of you. I will be picturing those cartwheels alllllll day!! LOL

Congrats on your upgrade too Hydster I was told that wasn't a possibility. That is awesome!!!

PizzieDuster - We'll be right there at the Hyatt with you on the 7th. We get in about 3:30 PM. It's getting close now. We were coming back from MCCO on the 15th at 11:35 but lo and behold American Airlines changed our flight time to 8:58 AM yesterday morning. I called and they were very nice in swithcing it to a 2:00 PM flight (might have actually worked out better as it is non-stop now as before we had a layover in Texas. Now we want to take our time getting off the ship (last person off maybe?). See everyone soon and again congrats to everyone who got upgrades. - Mike

Congrats!!!We were upgraded to 2006 and 2008 last Sept., excellent loacation and not noisy at all. Loved the view from the porthole. Enjoy it! From reading these boards it is very rare and no rhyme or reason to the upgrade.
