May 8th 2008 cruise

Maybe I'll see you around WL Disdee! I'm pretty much all packed today except for what I can't put in until tomorrow. Our flight leaves at 10:20 and we arrive at 12:45. I'll be down at the bar at WL tomorrow night at 7, so if you're around stop by! :goodvibes

So I guess this is goodbye for now, until we meet on Thursday!
I have piles of clothes ready to be packed, but I won't be doing that until Wednesday.
We are only 2 1/2 hours away from Port Canaveral, so we'll leave early in the morning on Thursday.
To everyone heading to WDW, have fun!
See you on the ship ...
Rose :)

See you all real soon. We leave Wednesday evening, but trust me... We will be one of the first on that glorious ship!

WWWAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Its over! But wasn't it great??!! Such good weather, food and fun! Didn't book onboard, but definetly trying to decide when to rebook. How was everyone else's trip!

It was great, but I'm extremely sunburned! :scared1: Can't wait to go again! I met some great DISer's on the cruise and being able to witness Rose (degrapevine) karaoke was a blast! She was great! Those that I got to meet, you were great!! So Carrie Lynn, when are we booking a cruise?? ;)

We just got back this morning, after an early morning cancelled flight! We were able to stave off complete depression by going to Epcot for Mother's Day, but waking up at 3:30 this morning for nothing really hurt!

We had a great trip! I hope all of you did as well. We ran into Denise on the elevator, but didn't see anyone else... The weather was great but a little hot at times. After doing three 3 nighters and one 4 nighter we are ready to move on to the 7 nighter. We wanted to book onboard, but it just didn't work out. Hopefully we are looking at going in November with my inlaws.

This was our first time staying on Deck 1, and it was so quiet... It was a little too far from everything for me...

I forgot to add that the airlines lost my main piece of luggage last night! :scared1: I got back to the airport and didn't see it. Turns out that it was placed on the wrong flight and went to Columbus, OH, instead of Birmingham! Fortunately they delivered it to my house at 8:30 this morning. :thumbsup2

We stayed on Deck 6, forward, and loved it! The kids club very close by, and my mom is a smoker so it was a quick trip to Deck 9. The smoking area was quite literally right above us. Oh, and for those not sure about an inside stateroom, we had a Cat. 11 sideways one and it was great!

Hi, all!
The cruise was awesome, but WAY too short and over WAY too fast!
So, after a 4 Night back in Dec. of 2006 and this 3 Night, we took the plunge and booked a 7 Night Eastern to Tortola next August. The date worked out great for us, since it's the week right before school starts for our kids, but towards the end of summer, so it's not so $$$$.
We got 2 connecting Cat 10's again, just a few doors down from our rooms this time. With the 10% discount it was $5800 for the 5 of us, with $200 in stateroom credits per room. We will transfer to Dreams Unlimited next week to get their additional stateroom credits, though.
I had a great time meeting everyone on the FE exchanges (never got to see those cute twins, though!) and I apologize to everyone for the long trip to our room down on Deck 1 ... It took until Saturday morning for me to finally figure out to NOT take the Aft elevators down to Deck 1 - At least I have that figured out for the next cruise!
Michelle, thanks for your kind words about my singing - I'm just glad I got there early and sang first (much less of a crowd).
My kids loved checking the FE for goodies whenever we headed back to the room and my DD is busy stickering everything in sight!
The exchange was really fun ... Guess I need to check into a DIS Meet for our next cruise (only 17 months away!).
Oh, and we rode the new Toy Story ride at MGM yesterday - LOTS of fun! If you are headed to WDW in June or afterwards, be sure to ride it!
Thanks again for a great DIS Meet group and maybe we'll meet again some day!
Rose :)

You were great, Rose! Didn't you love the girl that sang the Celine Dione song? :lmao: ;) hehe

I tried my luck at bingo the last night with Capntavis and his wife, but I lost. :( I was only one away too, for the $800 jackpot! :scared1:

I finally met the cute twins after we disembarked. They were next to us while we were waiting on our ride...........adorable!!

I can't wait to go on another Disney cruise! I'm already thinking about another. :cloud9:

I loved all of the FE gifts! Thanks everyone! Oh, and whoever did the bags with the postcards, pen, and cash.............genius, absolutely genius!!! :lmao: Why couldn't I have thought of that?!?! :thumbsup2

Rose- on the last day I finally figured out how to get to your room! :rotfl2: I let Carrie Lynn know how to do it that day, so she shouldn't have had trouble. :goodvibes

It was great, but I'm extremely sunburned! :scared1: Can't wait to go again! I met some great DISer's on the cruise and being able to witness Rose (degrapevine) karaoke was a blast! She was great! Those that I got to meet, you were great!! So Carrie Lynn, when are we booking a cruise?? ;)

I will have more information after my meeting on Wed.. :cool1: :cool1:

I had so much fun and it was great to meet everyone.. It was so much fun doing the FE and next time I am so going to have to get a real one instead of just a bag..

Oh is anyone doing a Trip report???

Actually Carrie Lynn, your bag worked out great! Let me know how things go on Wednesday! Is that the day of your interview? If so, where does it take place? Hey, you can add me as your friend on myspace (as can anyone else who would like to). Just go to www.myspace.com/mdhkitten

Oh, and for those not sure about an inside stateroom, we had a Cat. 11 sideways one and it was great!

I think we were in a sideways cat 10, and there was very little room for the port a crib. It really crowded us in. We have stayed in Cat 11's before with zero problems.

That stinks CastawayJP! :( I can see how it would be crowded with a Pak-n-Play in there. For us, it was really great, but it was just me, my mom, and my 3 year old dd. Plus, the steamer trunk that isn't normally in the 11's or 12's was a super bonus. I walked by some regular 11's and 12's that were being cleaned and from what I could see, the sideways room seemed much more spacious.

Hey everyone!

Is anyone else as sad to be home as I am? LOL I'm so ready for a 7 night. This one just wasn't long enough. This was my first DCL but I've been on 4 and 7 night cruises before and am so ready to take a DCL 7 night. We didn't book onboard. I need a little longer to convince DH that we can swing it.;)

We were in a Cat 9 and it was great, but I would gladly lower my Cat for a longer cruise! I'll have to keep those sideways Cat 11 cabins in mind.

It was greating meeting some of you and I'm sorry I missed the rest of you.

All of the FE gifts were great! It was a lot of fun for all of us. Thanks everyone!!

I was wondering if our McRae family was the McRAe Family that was announced as the first family allowed to board?

We're baaaack! We arrived in Atlantic City around 10:15 last night. We had a really great time and I'm so glad to have met several of my Dis friends! The FE gifts were a lot of fun, even for us 50-somethings. My DH was checking out those pockets every time we went back to the cabin. Rose, the CD was a great idea...we love it. Our rental car had a CD player, so we popped it in on our ride back to WDW.

We took about 500 pics this trip, so when DH uploads them, I'll post the link to our Smugmug page. I'll also do a little trip report on my journal sometime in the next week or so (the link is in my signature).

We're planning on doing an Alaska cruise sometime in the next couple of years, so we probably won't be doing a Disney Cruise again till we have some grand-kids, but we're really glad we did it. We're such huge Disney fans so it was special and just what the Dr. ordered.

Thanks for adding to the fun of our trip!

Hi guys!! We are back too (Late last night)... and YES... IT WAS US THAT WAS AWARDED THE DREAM!!!!

:O)
It was such a surprise to be presented the "first to board" dream... and a nice treat to get our pics with Mickey and Minnie at the docks! We were shocked!

The cruise was great... we loved every minute (Although I got burnt!)

Side note regarding Pack and Plays... we had 2 positioned in front of the couch (We removed the table) and had them going lengthwise... they both fit (category 6) and allowed us to pass by them to get to the veranda. It worked well for us, we were worried!!!

We were lucky enough to meet a few of you, sorry we couldnt make it to any of the meet-ups... the twins definately ruled our schedule!

Thanks again to everyone for making it such a memorable trip!
We will be definately sailing Disney again... just waiting to hear what 2010 holds!

I miss everyone.. It just isn't as fun on here

Me too! :( When will you officially be in Orlando? I've got a flight booked at the end of June to go down there to visit, so maybe we'll have to meet up! :goodvibes
