~May 7, 2011~ 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Magic!

I have my FE door hanger and not sure how I can do this

Dianatlol - So sorry to hear about your job loss. Of course you can do "this". You bring your FE door hanger, hang it on your door and let your DISfriends spread a little pixie dust. pixiedust:
Your cabin is on the FINAL FE Delivery List that has already been sent out. Most people have finished their shopping and/or making of gifts. If I tried to change that list now, the crew would mutiny.pirate:

Not exactly how I expected today to go. I was fired. I knew I had been training my replacement, no one would admit it, but I knew. I do not even have my FE stuff yet. I was going to order Friday, and didnt get a chance. Now what do I do??
I have my FE door hanger and not sure how I can do this

I'm so sorry to hear that....but still think about vacation and enjoy it....and about FE....yes, bring your FE hanger and smile when we leave our gifts for you and your family.....

Dianatlol...So sorry to hear about your job. That sort of happened to me a few years ago. My boss pretty much gave me 30 days to find a new job. It was retail and based on January's numbers....give me a break. It was totally unwarranted and I found out she had the same conversation with all the other managers. She said to just stay, but yet I was also "hiring" new assistant managers. (my replacement??) Yea right!!! Anyhow, we had a trip to Atlanta to see my brother planned AND our first Disney Cruise. I worried and worried, but had some bonus money (hmm...how did I get bonus money if I sucked so bad...??? lol) saved up. It was REALLY REALLY nice to get away and very rejuvenating. I went back to work for a couple more weeks, but in the meantime had been getting my real estate license. /So I left on my own. All ended up working out perfectly as we started a family a few years later.

I'm so sorry.

I knew I had been training my replacement, no one would admit it, but I knew.

Did you at least get a chance to give him/her some misinformation before you left? It's petty, childish and vindictive, I know but it probably could make you feel a bit better knowing the new guy's going to be doing it wrong. :rolleyes1

Oh I'm so sorry! What horrible news to get right before your trip. (What a jerky boss!)

However, we DISers stick together. Your FE goes up and we fill it because you could surely use a little extra cheer on your trip. :thumbsup2 We will all have giant smiles because we know you will be extra happy to get them.

Greetings from chilly central Canada (it SNOWED last Friday night !?!?!?!?!).

I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon and thinking of sunny skies and warm sand and the great big smiles we're all bringing for Dianatlol.

Dianatlol: I am very sorry to hear about your job loss. Seeing it coming doesn't really make it any better when it happens. It sounds like you prepared yourself the best that you could once you saw that freight train rolling towards you.

I do hope that your vacation will help you to re-charge your battery. I vote that you will discard your stress on the dock. You will find another job. You will find a job that you enjoy. You will spend many, many,.... many years working and just a few special weeks on vacation with the ones you love (and some crazy new friends you make along the way) so I hope that you enjoy your holiday. I hope that you can take all of the positive energy being sent your way, and the pixie dust that I'm sure will come, and enjoy your vacation.

Cheers,

Wow! They sure are stinkers.:sad2:
:rolleyes:I could use another word but this is a Disney related site.
I'm so sorry this has happened to you.

Is everyone almost ready?!?!

I ginally narrowed down my St Maarten beaches with some help from the Dis :goodvibes That was the only thing I was super worried about.... I'm not sure which we'll choose once we're there - but it's good to at least have it narrowed down and know where to go/what to do!

Once question. Is anyone staying/ has stayed at the Hyatt at the airport? That process is making me a little nervous. I think I get it, but the morning of the cruise is a little confusing to me.

I did online registration and printed out the 'signature card' and the 'room charges' page. Do I need anything else besides my passport?

I always think we are organised but we always, always seem to end up rushing about at the last minute.. Anyway kids cases are packed, DW and myself should be packed this weekend. FE box packed, concerned it is to heavy for a case!!!

Still sorting a couple of things for Mother's day on the Sunday. Still sorting what to do at St Maarten. Oh, and we have 10 days to plan at Disney before the cruise!! Its all fun fun fun, but busy busy busy... 6 days and counting.

We won't start packing until the Thursday before the cruise.
We have tried everything on and purchased new things. So packing will be fast and easy!

I haven't posted since the 4th page in this thread. How things have changed for us. My wife will no longer be attending. We are expecting our third child in July and she just missed the cutoff. So that leaves myself and my daughter 6 and son 9 still going. She insisted I go because of the kids but I still have my reservations. I know this will be held against me. How couldn't it be. I know she does truly want me to take them though. My mind is crazy right now trying to plan a trip I know little about since I'm a first timer and because I'm starting over with having a baby and buying furniture and moving bedrooms around.

If I have passports, do I need birth certs. and the rest or is the passport all I need?

This is a pirate and princess or just pirate party?

How much for this tux rental and do they have it for the young boys? Money is limited due to the baby.

What time does the bus for the boat come to DVC properties?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I'm packing stuff today and gathering our stuff

Thanks

Nope. I've got stuff in piles and I've got at least one more run to CVS. Our schedule's so crazy I'll be packing that Thursday night before we get in the car early Friday to drive to FL. The good news though, is that at least according to all my lists, it shouldn't be too ridiculous.

Rusafee - at the end of the day, all you need are those papers and your passports. As long as you have those, you'll be fine.

Has anyone here prepaid their tips before? I like bringing cash but honestly at this point, that's just one more errand I'll unlikely have time for. I've read all you need to do is call DCL but wanted to double check with you guys first.

Also, totally a random long shot question but does anyone else here crossfit? I was trying to come up with a few workouts for the cruise. Figured if I had a buddy it might be easier.

Hi! Welcome back! Sorry about your wife :guilty: That sucks. She's a better person than I am... I would be SO disappointed if my DH was going on this cruise and I wasn't.

Maybe bring her back a small piece of jewelry from St Maarten and it'll be all good :thumbsup2

I'm not a professional, since this is our 1st cruise - so I'm no help.

I just wanted to say HI and welcome back! :cool1:

I pre-paid my tips for the same reason... I just wanted it taken care of before hand. My TA did all that for me, but I would guess it's probably as easy as just calling Disney and giving them your credit card info.

I don't use crossfit, but I am trying to lose weight before the trip (down 24 lbs!!). I also want to try and maintain all of the hard work I've done so far by working out in the gym with my DH in the mornings. If they don't offer classes that I am interested in (or at all) I will probably do my usual circuit training - 20 minute interval on the elliptical, and then sets of mt climbers, 8 count body builders, abs (hopefully they have the balls that you can sit and do abs on)and jump rope. You are welcome to join us if you want! :goodvibes

*** ETA: Just looked up what crossfit is :scared1: Looks intense. You may do better without me

With that being said, it looks like something that I want to aspire to get to. Right now my workouts consist of

M - 45 min Zumba/45 min Steps & Reps class
T - Off day
W - 1 hour Spinning class
Th - 1 hour Zumba/20 minutes interval training on elliptical
F - The circuits I mentioned above - Elliptical, jump rope, abs, mtn climbers, squats, etc etc
S - 1 hour Zumba
Sun - Off

Awww.. your going to make me cry!!!!

I think I will cry each time I look at FE's!!! You all are so sweet

Well we are sorta packed.... There are piles of clothes to go through! LOL We are staying at the Hilton the day before, our MIL Is paying for that and a Limo service to pick us up. She is trying to make it really special now that I lost my job, heck I am just grateful I can go! You all are being so sweet... I was going to have a hard time relaxing if I was still working, I just knew I was training my replacement, she even denied it, but I knew she knew too. Sad part is I was good! The agents loved me and do not like this new girl who has no personality what so ever! Oh well their loss

Thats right...their lost......and you just get packed on time and think about vacation.

We are flying to MCO a night before cruise and taking rental car to Cape Canaveral. We booked our room at Country Inns & Suites for overnight. The on 6th my DH will take me and kids and luggage to the terminal. We will then return car to Budget and meet as at the terminal.

Welcome back dljhowie. Congratulations on a new baby and sorry that your DW can't join you guys. But I think you will be just fine. There is a lot of first time cruisers on this meet so we are trying to help each other as much as we can. I also think that passports and cruising papers are enough, well thats what we are taking with us.

I can't tell you about tux rental or DVC, sorry. I'm sure you can find some answers on DIS board.

Now I'm going back to rest a little, went to dentist this morning to fix one tooth so it will not start to hurt before or on cruise, but I ended up loosing it and now numbing medication is wearing off.....

Congrats on the weight loss. It's a tough road and 24 pounds is amazing. I actually may join you guys if you don't mind. I want to go each morning on the sea days and knowing that someone else is there waiting for me should be enough to get me up and motivated. This cruise falls at the end of a physical fitness cycle for my work which means I have to be on a scale the Monday I return from the cruise and taking the fitness test two weeks later. :scared1: Bad timing on my part but I don't need any setbacks either.

Crossfit isn't nearly as insane as it looks. Based on what you seem to do regularly you're not far off. It's the olympic lifting is what looks so hard. I assure you, I'm not nearly as hardcore as the folks on the websites.
