May 6, 2006 - 7 nite Western - Anyone Crusing?

Are all you guys packing jackets and jeans ? I have never been to the carribean in the spring . Will it be cool? I thought I would wear jeans down and then I would have them if we got a cold day but I don't really want to pack jackets for everyone.

Sharon,
I always pack at least a sweater because it does get chilly on the ship at night. Both outside with the wind blowing and in some of the venues...like the dining rooms and the theater! For the kids you may want to pack light jackets in case we get a squall in GC or Coz. It can rain pretty quickly and then leave. In May it is typically very warm though. As for jeans, I would say yes to that as well for the same reasons.

I'm debating the same thing about the jeans. I'll probably just pack zip hoodie sweatshirts for everyone instead of a jacket. Actually we'll all be wearing our cold-weather clothes for our trip down to FL. It will be chilly here at 4:00am when we leave. :cold: I'm sure DH will have to take (probably wear) at least 1 pair of jeans, I'm doing capris.

Thanks Lisa. And Jillane just reminded me that we will leaving VERY early in the a.m. also and it will be cold here so I think we will wear jeans and a light jacket so that we have them. Hopefully we won't need them though. :sunny: :wizard: for all sun and warm weather from 05/05-13

We cruised the westerdn carib last march and it was so warm..hope its even better this spring

I always forget the light jacket/sweater and every cruise I always wish I had one. Usually end up buying one for each of us on the ship. I will remember this time!

jcfowler (Chris): I made the chocolate souffle with vanilla sauce last night for dessert. SO YUMMY - very easy too. If it tastes even 1/2 that good on the boat, I will be in heaven. Even my 3 kids loved it. When I told them they serve that in the "adults only" restaurant, they cried out in unison "NO FAIR". I think we'll be having a pre-cruise party with the chocolate souffle at least 3 more times before the cruise! :thumbsup2 Thank goodness I'm working out 90 minutes a day!

Mine turned out to be a chocolate pizza!! (The new sign in our kitchen now reads "Try and Eat It" instead of "Come & Get It"!) :upsidedow

Ain't it great to be an "adult"? Woooo Whooooo! Nah Nah Ne Boo Boo to all your young squirts!! :clown: We're adults and you're NOT!! Hahahahahaha!

I'm going to start working out ----- tomorrow, or the next day. (I'd procrastinate but I never can seem to find the time to do so!) :confused3

Just got an identical response from Disney as to whether or not Cozumel is in our future. They essentially gave me a definite maybe. BIG DEAL! I may just stay on the ship and pout - - eating chocolate souffles!! I wonder if you can get souffles by room service?? I'll let you know as soon as I get to my stateroom!!!! IMMEDIATELY!! :bitelip:

Have a great "humpday" everybody! 38 days and counting!!! Oh boy :^)~

Chris :bounce:

LOL Chris! Was it still good though????

Ok, I need serious help. I just consumed the last 2 (leftover from last night) chocolate souffle's for lunch. I ate them both in like 5 minutes - with a nice cup of coffee! That means I've eaten 3 of them in less than 24 hours. I need help! :sad2:

I did my packing list last night. I'll post it if I get a chance, although it is long!

It was good for me, but as a result of DW's opinion I am thinking about opening a restaurant named "Tomaine Tavern"! Catchey, huh?

Forget the "get help" mindset - there IS no help. We're all addicted. It's an evil plot (for adults only!) and I fully intend on giving them up COMPLETELY AND PERMANENTLY - in about 50 years. Who said guys don't have will power?? (Don't answer that - purely a rhetorical question!?! :teeth: )

Alas, I must announce the "passing" of another chocolate bunny:^( Rite Aid has this sale - 2 for 1 and......well, enough of the grieving. Life goes on! :rolleyes2 (Burp! Excuse me!!!!!!!) :teeth:

Have a great week ya'll, or you guys, or youse guys, or whatever! We be "packing" (suitcases!) Don't forget your Pirate Outfits! "Ye be warned!" pirate:

Bye!

Chris :jester:

Those souffles sound so good....but I better wait until the cruise to try them. I'm afraid if I make them at home I will not want to share! :rolleyes1

jillane88, glad to hear that your try at the souffles came out good, sorry to hear about your pizza jcfowler.

Yes me and Sharon are Yankees and we live just the next town over from each other. Small world. I don't have a warm winter haven, yet. Have to get the kids thru school and college first. :thumbsup2

I ordered the book that is coming out from the show Lost. I'm really into the show and saw in TV Guide that they are coming out with a book called "Bad Twin" from the manuscript that Hurley was reading that he found in the luggage a few new episodes back. It is due out on May 2nd so I hope to get it in time to pack it!

I have to order clothes for myself from Disney Catalog. I'm gonna get the capri set with Mickey and flowers on it. Navy blue bottom with white top. I think I'm gonna wear that the day we depart so I can get away with it for dinner too. We have early seating for dinner. Need to get capris for myself too. Waiting for the size to go down. One more would be great. Gotta hold off on shopping for me as long as I can. I will be starting DD's stuff in the next week or so. DH really just needs shorts and a bathing suit. He has tops galore and plenty of Dockers for dinner, plus his new suit. I tend to be the pauper in the family. :confused3

Disney just e-mailed me and said it was possible for you to take all that luggage, however, they will have to make arrangements for the "Wonder" to go along with us to carry just the baggage!

Hey Gina! I just wanted you to know I once knew a "normal" yankee - - or at least he seemed normal when he was on his meds! Too bad about the geographical birth defect, but you can't help where you're born!! (Everyone on my planet is just like me, or so says my DW. She says the saucer deliberately LEFT ME, but I say it was an accident! Sniff, sniff!) :yoda:

As to the pizza, it makes a wonderful frisbee, and you don't have to worry about the dog swallowing it. He runs to the water bowl after each catch. I wonder why????? :earseek: Hmmmmmm????

Later!

Chris :teleport:

jillane: those souffles sound good! I am so trying to lose about 10 lbs before the cruise that I don't dare make anything like that! It's bad enough we have birthdays around here nearly every day! Today is a friend's and she wants to go to this really nice resteraunt for lunch...groan...there goes my diet! :)

Yay! 38 days to go!!!

I am so ready to go now!! I even found a place for my doggies to stay where they will be spoiled. And no, Chris, it isn't a chinese resteraunt. :) :lmao: :stir:
