May 5th 2007 Western Magic CINCO DIS MAYO!

Tracy, I am not sure about Disney's policy, but on the other cruises we took, you were able to cancel up to 24 hours before.
::yes:: We are under two months now!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

ok we decided not to do the dolphin thing as its too much for 4 of us..so we will probably just do the walk around a bit.. dh did say ok to the paradise beach so add us to that one..:thumbsup2 where was that at again?? :rotfl2: really need to write these things down now..:lmao: you all wanna go to the beach at the same time?? :beach: ok off to write some info down been pretty bad lately about my note keeping for our plans..:confused3

ok another question..this is in regards to the character breakfast.. what time frame do they schedule you for this? is it at a fairly decent early morning time frame or late morning?? And is it at a specific time or just on time frame on a specific morning?

I just realized, I have not been keeping notes on some plans either!:rotfl: Paradise Beach is on the same day as the Pirate night, (which I now have a most excellant pirate wench costume, I might add! Thanks Ebay!) So I was thinking about us going to the beach early so we can come back to the ship and have a good rest since it is such a late night. Most nights Madison is in bed by 8pm, so these late nights could be tough on all of us. I have already been sort of drumming it into her, how there might be some days we will need to nap so we can have tons of fun later. I am so sure that Papa will be more than obliging to be her nap buddy!:lmao:
We have several count downs going on here.....how many days til we leave?....how many days til Madison's birthday?......how many days til swimming lessons start?:hourglass I see numbers all over the place....:crazy2:

I know....can you believe it? It really hit me just his past weekend!!!!! I have to still book our hotel for the night before....but not worried about that...I don't really care where we wind up staying. We won't be there for that long anyway!!!!

well off to get some of my auditing done and catch up on some planning..whoohooo:banana: :bored: party:

Tracey,
Pirate night is Weds. We are in Coz on Weds.
The teen might surprise you, last cruise my 16 year old put on the bandana they give you and an eye patch! pirate: He actually designed an awesome Black Pearl shirt to wear this time!

Last time I actually wore the black and white shirt I have to Animators (which was on Pirate night) with a color shirt under it, so when the colors changed, so did I. Dorky, but the servers loved it! :)

I have been emailing a "picture of the day" to my son to get him psyched up for the cruise. Then every morning he comes up and says (58 days...or whatever the countdown for the day is). I don't think I have to get him too much more excited! :thumbsup2
Lisa

I think the Character breakfast was the first sea day after you had your first dinner in Animators Palate. Ours was at 9:45am.

that would be great if the character breakfast is on a sea day. would make life alot easier for my planning too.

Lisa..yep i realized that when i started to write down dates and such..i was only off a day :rotfl2: got the correct port of call with it anyways i impressed myself with that much memory :lmao:

time will tell of the 15 yr old.. i did get him the pirate patch and all at halloween time and will pack that stuff. i'll probably end up just getting a couple nice t-shirts for those two since dh is picky.

i did get down what we have planned so far and when. right now depending on when the 15 yr old gets done with state testing on may 3rd we may be able to leave early enough to stop halfway and sleep instead of leaving late and driving overnite. hoping they schedule him fairly early that day.

Kim in Florida, I'm glad your back. Kaitlyn is absolutely adorable with her car. She has a lot to be proud of (as do you)

Tracy, Glad you're going to join us at Paradise Beach. I would love to be there with a group. The more the merrier. I will warn everyone though that I have checked out the website and I have a serious plan that must be carried out that day. It involves something with an umbrella in it :rolleyes1 I drink maybe once or twice a year. And if I survive tax season, I deserve to have a few, so they are being budgeted in. :rotfl2:

Can we get a quick count of how many of us are going?

I called today and rented a convertible for KW. I figure with our late arrival it's gonna be hot and there is no way ds will walk to the southernmost point. It's not bad $39/4 hours and they pick you up at the port and they provide carseats for ds.

I've started working out again :yay:

I hope everyone is doing well. Tomorrow morning at 7:30 approx I'll have a new nephew. They estimate that he will way 9 1/2 lbs :scared1: so they are taking him c-section. His name is going to be Landon.

DD got strep this week and now dh has it. This really stinks since it will delay when they can go see the new baby.

Karen, where did you rent the car from? That might be a really good idea. We were planning on the beach in Cozumel, that is :dance3: of us!
Madison is wearing her pirate dress and dancing as I sit here.:lmao: She made me put music on for her.
And congrats on the new nephew!!!:flower3:
Karen

Karen, I believe it is Tropicar, Inc. You can probably google it. The Kia sportages are already rented for the day.

Thats funny about Madison. How cute. I think we're all getting excited. If I were there, I'd dance with her. :cool1:

We are going to PB too.
So that makes:
Me, Brian & Devin.
Cali Karen, Bob & Madison
KY Karen, Jason, Courtney & Koty
Tracy, Keith, Jonathan, & Amber
Anybody else?

Tracy, here's what I've found. PB is somewhere between 7 and 9 miles south of downtown, a short cab ride away ($12-$15 per family (of 4)). We dock at 9:30am and I realize that DCL excursions will probably get off first but I would like to get off as early as possible conidering there are supposed to be 4 ships in port and the fact that all the beaches will get crowded. I don't know when we'll head back - 4pm at the latest to shower and get ready for dinner but I'm with Madznana earlier so Devin can have a nap would be better.

Also here's my Quick Chart for you (assuming DCL doesn't surprise us by changing things around).

Day Date Port Ashore Aboard Evening Attire Event/Show
Saturday 5/5 Cape Canaveral - 4:00pm/5:00pm (sail) Casual All Aboard Comedy/Magic
Sunday 5/6 Key West 11:30am 7:30pm Casual Gary Delena
Monday 5/7 At Sea - - Formal Golden Mickey’s
Tuesday 5/8 Grand Cayman 7:30am 4:30pm Casual Twice Charmed
Wednesday 5/9 Cozumel 9:30am 6:30pm Pirate Pirate Deck Party
Thursday 5/10 At Sea - - Semi-Formal Disney Dreams
Friday 5/11 Castaway Cay 9:30am 4:30pm Casual Remember The Magic
Saturday 5/12 Cape Canaveral 7:35am - - -

I believe I have read several times that the character breakfasts are Sunday (before arriving in Key West), Monday(at sea) or Thursday (at sea) and that's it and like Debbie said its the first one after your AP rotation so if you have:
APL 5:30 or 8:00 = Sunday morning Character Bkfst
PLA 5:45 or 8:15 = Thursday morning
LAP 6:00 or 8:30 = Monday morning

Has anyone noticed that DCLs website says main seating times are 5:45, 6:00and 6:15? DU's SueEllen swears its a mistake.

Did I mention I'm planning obsessed (and a bit anal retentive). I have lists/charts up the wazoo!:rotfl2: Trips have gone horribly wrong when I wasn't fully organized.:scared:

KY Karen: Congrats on the new addition to the family!

We also had planned to go to PB after our excursion, but depending on when it ends, we might just shop and look around town/port area. I might need to get to the ship and take a nap to make it thru Pirate Night. I don't want to miss that buffet this time!

You're all really putting us to shame....we haven't planned anything apart from our Palo ressies! Apart from Key West I have no idea where to go or what to do in Cozumel or Grand Cayman!:confused3

What do you like to do? I'm happy to share notes, research and links with you if you don't plan to do DCL excursions.

For GC I started here: http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/
We decided on a snorkel/Stingray City tour through Soto's cruises in the morning and a Helicopter ride over Stingray City in the afternoon.

For Cozumel I started here: http://www.cozumelinsider.com/
We are going to Paradise Beach in Cozumel.

HTH!

Thanks ever so much for that. I'll go and have a look when I get time :) We're very lazy people who like to relax a lot so we won't be doing anything very strenuous I'm afraid! Probably a bit of time at a beach, plus a look at the area or something.

My new nephew made his entrance around 8:15 yesterday (right as I was pulling into the hospital parking lot):rotfl2: Couldn't he have waited just 5 more minutes?

His name is Landon Ferrell and he weighs in at 9lb 11oz! He has a head full of black hair. The hospital is only 2 blocks from my work. So at 5:00 yesterday I raced over so I could get my hands on him. It was fun holding him, but it didn't make me want to do it again. :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone!

Before I forget.

Local Walgreens has really cute Mickey and Minnie Easter baskets for only $9.99.

Oriental Trading Co. in their new book (I'm sure you can get it online) has pirate shirts, hats, tattoos, etc. as well as some great items that would be good for either Easter baskets or cruise gift baskets for kids.

Oh and for scrappers, Ebay has a paper piecing kit that has Mickey sitting on the back of a car heading home with tears streaming down his face. Thought it would be an awesome way to end the book. If you pm me I'll get you the sellers Id # if you can't find it.
