May 5th 2007 Western Magic CINCO DIS MAYO!

Oh Lisa I hope you can come! :yay: We have used Cruises Only to book in the past. I am sure there are tons of sights you could go to and get a cheaper fare than Disney direct at this time.
Meeting before the life drill usually works. I've never been on the Disney cruise so I would have to let one of you OLDIES say where! I wasn't sure about Madison's bathing suit either. I thought it might be easier to just take a tour around the ship to get our barrings and swim another day.
I guess it isn't too far off any more to even start working on my door sign. Not sure what I want but I have purchased quite a bit of Disney stuff at scrap book stores to play with.
Have we talked about some sort of "Dis" way of locating each other. Pins, or whatever?
I am so jealous you got your passporter already Tracy. I ordered it months ago as soon as the starting taking pre-orders. :sad2: Hopefully it will come today.

Well I may have to eat my words re: Dreams. SueEllen is working my request and if she can come back with what I think she can come back with, she has my undying gratitude! I have worked with her before and she is a miracle worker, so...here's hoping!

When I cruised last May we all wore lime green shirts and believe me, everyone knew who we were as we mingled by the model ship in the terminal building! :) We had people come up to ask if we were "Disers" and the group grew quite abit. Some poor people wore lime green just because they liked the color and I bet they were irritated with being approached so much! :rotfl:

Hmm not sure dh will go for the lime green shirt..i'll have to see what we can come up with..maybe we ought to name ourselves and create shirts with the name of our group on it?? :rotfl2: although we have black shirts with a bright purple hand on it for a politcal group thing we are involved in we could wear..we stick way out and we have purple cameo pants to match..you definitely cant miss us when we wear those..:rotfl2:

Thanks Tracey!

Guess what gang....we are back IN! SueEllen got me the SAME deal (can I brag about that here?) We just had to move rooms...now we are further forward, but that's ok.:cool1: I am making final payment next, so let the planning begin. We get to make ressies on Feb 4th.

What is everyone reserving for Palo etc?

Lisa

Well Lime green isn't exactly my color either. I agree we could have a different theme (and I LIKE purple!) :)

Lisa

Just checking in.

I took dd to the Cheetah Girls concert last night. It was AWESOME :cool1: We danced, shouted and sang together. I really enjoyed the show too. If it comes near you guys, you should go. Worth the $$$

I'm all for something to identify us. I have a lime green shirt and I love it but any color would be fine. I would rather do bracelets or pins or something since I want my boarding pics to look good. I'm up for any suggestions.

I haven't heard from the job yet, but most likely will soon. My hubby went for a meeting there and talked to the head guy about me. Fingers crossed and praying hard for the interview.

I'm working out and losing a little. Better than gaining. I have started working on my tan (fake bake). Today I was lying there dreaming I was on the Magic soaking up the rays in the peace and quiet of the adult only pool. :cloud9:

Did Florida Kim disappear?

karen..it will be on it's way might take longer to ship out to you..i think ohio is fairly close to their main office if i remember correctly.

Lisa..:thumbsup2 awesome your back in with us :cool1:

Cruise...sounds like you had an awesome time..we was thinking about doing disney on ice which is near us in february but we decided to save the money for the trip instead.

We aren't doing Palo ourselves. We prefer to do the dinner thing together as a family..i know we are weird.:rotfl2: only thing i know of we will do is the couples massage in one of the villas other then that we are going with the flow.

I am down to 133lbs now and i can fit in my size 8's but they are snug on thy belly :rotfl2: i weigh in tomorrow evening so we will see how much i lost this week. DD beens sick with a really bad sinus infection and terrible cough  so we have been trying to get her well... although i rather have her get this now then right before the cruise :confused3

well if we do theme wise then we can choose whatever color we want but yeah i agree i prefer our embarkation photos to be decent..:rotfl2: So what can we do that is cheap and easy? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: that reads sooo wrong :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:  ok dh just told me lime green is definately out..:rotfl2: but he says maybe mickey hats or goofy hats or something like that?

ok and last topic here..valentines is coming up so i will put out here for a last call for snail mail addresses for the kids card exchange.. just pm me your info of first and last names, ages, and address and i will send out the updated list umm lets say feb 1st? is that too late? ok i am done for now:laughing:

Thanks Tracey!

Lisa

Yeah!!!!! Lisa, I hadn't even taken you off the roll call list yet. I couldn't bring myself to do it. Now I don't have too.:woohoo:

So my final payment is made and my flight is now confirmed. :woohoo: Good news and bad about that. I was able to get a cheaper flight BUT instead of getting in at 3:30 we won't arrive until 5pm which means Devin will have less time to play in the pool and we'll have less time to meet those of you also staying at the Radisson the night before:sad1:, but I had to take the better deal.

For us first timers, is it 3am on February 4th that we are able to book Palo brunch? And does anyone know what we need to do that other than our reservation number?

I'm fine with lime green shirts, but don't know where to find them. I seem to remember other meet groups taking about pins and bracelets and t-shirts where people printed off the design themselves on that transfer paper. I don't know how to do that but a fellow diser on the Creative DISigns board made awesome custom shirts for Devin's 2nd b-day at WDW. She has a website with instructions so now that I am not working 60+ hours a week (well I'm not working at all) I could play around with it and see if I can figure out how to do it, if everybody wanted to that.

As for meeting, I agree pre-drill is best, but like some others this is our first DCL cruise so I have no idea where. What ever you veterans think is best, works for us!

This cruise seemed so far away not so long ago, but now I'm frantically trying to figure out excursions, etc etc. Its kind of fun though!

I came home today and I was so excited when I saw a package from Passporter. It was The WDW guide not the Cruise one. I am still exited about it though. I've never been to WDW and it will be neat to start working on that too.
Not too long ago I went to Disneyshopping.com and bought the three of us red polo shirts with a small Mickey Mouse on the left . I had planned on us wearing those on embarkation for our pictures. Names on the back could work. I've noticed several TRs with group names on them. And maybe just a pin for the dissers. Maybe go to Home Depot and get some of the dis green Mickey head paint chips and put our names on them.
I am so up in the air about Palo. I wanted this to be a special vacation with the princess: so I have always planned on us eating our meals together. I just wish people would stop posting pictures of the chocolate souffle!:rotfl2:
Great news, Lisa. So glad everything fell back into place for you.
And for us first timers, isn't the date for ressies Feb. 19th? Where do we find the date? Am I just going to be the last one on the cruise to make reservations?
And Tracy, I already made some copies of pictures for Madison's cards, so we are close to being ready, just need the cards!

Feb 19th is the last day for payment I believe. When I put in our date for ressies (there was a website somewhere for this) it came up with Feb 4th for Castaway Club members.(ones that sailed before) this would be 90days. But when I was playing around on the DCL website, it said come back on FEb 3rd! So I will! So first time cruisers would be able to book ressies at 75 days from cruise date.

I had to take my DS's car in for a 30,000 check up today. I was going to wait for it 4 hours, but my friend picked me up there and took me to lunch. YUMMM chinese...but not good for my dieting! I am dreaming of being 133lbs when I get on the ship, because for sure after the trip I'll be 150LBs! So lunch was 2 hours and the other two hours I read my Passporter and another WDW guide book. There is so much to learn for a first time trip to WDW!

I have a lime green shirt, I have Mickey paint chips, I have my piglet pins, and I am ready to go! (well, except for the packing and cruise docs!)

OK...time to go watch American Idol!

OH....I am suppose to be out of a job on the 31st, but a customer told me yesterday that he'd like to hire me. I wasn't even going to start looking til I got back from the cruise. I told him I'd have to leave for two weeks in May and he said "no problem". So...I just have to go in a few weeks and hope he pays what I want! If he does, I just might be able to afford to rebook another cruise on board!

LOL, my MIL bought the same shirts for herself, FIL and the 3 grandkids (including my son) and they arae having professional pics taken this weekend. What a great idea to have the shirt for you, your DH and GD.

As for ressies, I called my TA (Costco - so not a REAL TA IMHO) and was told final payment is due February 5th. Someone else above mentioned February 4th so that is why I thought February 4th. So is final payment due 90 days prior but first timers can't make ressies until 75 days prior? I seriously don't trust the TA dept of Costco so if anybody has reliable confirmation, I'd appreciate it. TIA.

The papers I had from DCL said my final payment was due Feb. 19th.:lmao: I wonder who really knows these things! I wonder if there are many reservations left, since repeat cruisers get to make reservations 90 days ahead and we have to wait 15 more days. And why do the NEED 15 days ahead? I have so many questions and so little answers.

I'm so excited. After 2 MONTHS of NO reply I finally heard from the helicopter company I wanted to do a short tour with. They apologized for the delay and do have availability! DS will be SO excited! He loves helicopter rides! I will feel much better once I get the must do excrsions booked!

you payment final date is so many days out and that is based on the category of what you booked. the same goes with the date of when you can make ressies. it depends on the category you book for your stateroom and if you are a returning member or not and such..like those that are in stateroom cat. 1-3 get to book ressies like 105 days in advance so they are already hgetting ready to book ressies but their final payment had to be in by now as well as i don't recall being able to book ressies till your final payment was made. i could be wrong on that but i thought i read that somewhere on disney's site.

I didnt know you was staying at the Radisson as well. WHo else is staying at the radisson?? What shuttle time did you sign up for? We have some friends that live in Florida so i think we are meeting up with them that friday when we get in so we may not even be there for most of that day. BUt all of us staying at that hotel could meet later in the evening after supper or something too and let the kids play before bedtime. we have the early shuttle time as well as cruiseboundnky :confused3 ..is that correct karen?

And i love the idea of the polos from the disney site. I was thinking about doing the exact same thing myself but have odd feeling i won't get my crew to wear the darn things on the same day. but time will tell. I am hoping to find us some pirate shirts of some sort for pirate nite and will talk more to dh about what he would be WILLING to wear for that first day.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! I have to run to work, but wanted to check in and saw all the confusion about ressies. Yes, CC members get to register at 90 days out which is Feb 4th, and the rest of the group (if you booked at cat4 and below, get to register at 75 days out which would be in March? Don't worry, last year I didn't book until the last minute so was registering along with the last group and I got everything I wanted. All I can say is: if it is booked when you first try...try again and again. I had to go in 4 different times to finally get parasailing ressies and I did about 2 weeks before we cruised.
As for where we are staying: well we don't get in until 11pm being that we travel from the far northwest :rotfl2: so we are staying at the Fairfield which is about a mile from the airport. DH has Marriott rewards and we stay virtually free and they have free breakfast! :)
Thanks Kim for holding the faith with me and not deleting us! I was so bummed when I thought we wouldn't be able to go.
Anyway, I better run off to work, I will check back in later! I want to talk excursions. Is anyone doing the Tulum Ruins tour?

Lisa

Bob wears polo shirts a lot so it wasn't hard to get him to wear one.
Is anyone staying at the Hyatt Regency at the airport? DCL has the shuttles leaving there starting 10 am and there doesn't seem to be any need to reserve spots, you just go down and get in line.
We are thinking of taking the Cozumel Ruins and beach tour because Madison is too young for the Tulum. They give prices for a 5 year old but suggest not bringing a child under 8. And I KNOW DH will not want to carry her!
How about the pirate ship adventure in Grand Cayman, is anyone thinking of that trip?
Karen

Yep, we have a confirmed ressie at the Radisson and I think Karen (CruiseBoundKY) and her family is staying there too. We had hoped to meet family friends who live in cocoa Beach for dinner but the late arrival time now makes that impossible.

If we could borrow from Creative DISigns a design that we print ourselves and iron shirts ourselves does everyone think their families would wear a plain T-shirt that has maybe a DCL logo or picture, sail date and somewhere says something like "Do the Dis" or some other clever way to identify our Dis buddies the first day?

If and when anyone finds out the exact date and time that first timers (not in suites) can make Palo ressies, please post it here. We decided not to do Palo dinner and eat every night as a family with Devin (who may or may not get to go to the kids club due to age and potty training) but I would love to book one Palo Brunch/Flounders reservation - just in case. I understand that those go fast.

Kim, On the DCL site, it says: 105 days before the cruise for concierge,
90 days for Castaway Cay members, and 75 days for new cruisers.
And maybe can we iron a design on a nicer shirt. It could be on the back and the front would still look good for embarkation pictures. Not that I have anything against saying who we are, it is just another idea added the zillions of other things we need to make decissions about!:rotfl2:

That sounds like a plan for me on the shirts. the logo and something to do with the disers would be kewl..i was asking dh last nite about it and he was like somthing simple:rotfl2:. So i told him plan on being prepared to wear a pirate shirt and he was like oh no and i said well prob a t-shirt or polo style type for pirate nite and he said ok i can hand le that i guess :rotfl2: but i think i may order the polo shirts from disney.com or somthing with the characcter on the front and i can add whatever on the back, just need to decide what color to get us. :thumbsup2

Date to sign up for palo from what i read today is 75 days in advance and that your cruise is paid in full for first timers , 90 days in advanced and paid in full for castaway members, and 105 days in advance and paid in full for the suites.
