May 5th 2007 Western Magic CINCO DIS MAYO!

;)
I had lost 5lbs finally and then last week I got a cold and ate to make me feel better and gained 3lbs back!

Last time for Pirate night I just wore a striped shirt and capri's and the boys wore Pirates of the Carribean shirts that we got in DL. Might do the same thing this time and I got a pirate T-shirt too. Not into the costume thing here.

The small $84 package is what we got last time at Shutters. It was perfect for us. We didn't stand in line for most of the Characters, so didn't need all the pictures. I think the 6x8's were $10ea, so I traded one for 2 of the pre-printed ($5) ones of the ship in the ports.

Good for you!! I have been trying to lose weight since the birth of my son and it hasn't been easy!! I lost 40 pounds before I got pregnant with Weight Watchers. Now I have 20 to lose. It is getting so close so I started Slim Fast to try to get results quick...........wish me luck!!;)

Just wanted to say hello from Innsbruck,Austria!! We are looking forward to our cruise on May 5th!! This will be our first cruise and our 1st real vacation with our 3 year old son! I hope to see some of you there!!
p.s. Could any of you in the cold northwest send some snow our way so we can finally go skiing!!!????:confused3 :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Welcome! How long is your flight from Austria? What a great trip to take for your first real vacation and good you can do it while your son is young. We couldn't afford to take one til June 2005 on the Magic and my son was 21 already! But it was the best "first vacation ever". This will be our first trip to Florida and WDW and the Carribean!

Hello, Fellow Cruisers!

Another question for you veterans from a 1st timer:

The big appeal of Key West is supposed to be its breath-taking sunset. Approximately what time will that be when we are there on May 6? We have a late dinner seating, and it appears as though we will miss it.

Ok, I said A question, but here's another:

What is the system for calling passengers to board? Does it go by how early one arrives at the terminal? I know that the terminal opens at about 10:00, but is it worth one's time to arrive so early?

They pass out boarding numbers as you arrive, so first to arrive at 10am will get #1 I guess and so on.

As for the sunset, it will be printed on the Navigator for the day what time it will be. They say you can see it real good from deck 10 on the ship!

Welcome to the group.

Now is that for both lines ( castaway members and the reg line)? We plan on being there early and are booked for the first shuttle from the hotel over. figure with the number of people going and all the kids will have other kids to play with and such in the terminal.

Hello all fellow cruisers are you all getting the same panic attacks that i am suddenly getting about planning. Still havent bought my airline waiting for southwest to release the may 12 date.:grouphug: :dance3: :grouphug: :dance3: :grouphug: :dance3:

no panic attacks here as i have pretty much everything planned out. just need to put it into action  :lmao: We aren't doing any shore excursions ourselves other then the one be booked on our own at key west. and the one massage we want to book we only can do on the ship so most our stuff is just the first day organizing once we are on board. i even have a packing list ready to go and wil probably start packing come april. yes i know that a month early but i have found it easier to pack ahead like that then on a spur of the moment..:confused3

speaking of packing do any of you with younger ones plan on taking strollers? i we have a jeep stroller but i think we are going to leave it home and just let her ride on our shoulders if need be. dd is just to big for an umbrella stroller so we would have to take the jeep one and it is kind of bulky.

Welcome VLF.
Pirate night. WE have a pirate costume for Madison that we bought at DL. I found I shirt for Bob made with pirate print fabric. I am not sure about me yet. I do have a Pirate T-shirt, so I may make that do.
We still haven't made any final decisions on excursions yet. I know for sure we are just doing Key West on our own. The sunset AND the Blond Giraffe for Key Lime Pie on a stick!! We are considering the Pirate Ship in Grand Cayman. And in Cozumel we are thinking about the Cozumel ruins and beach tour.
I'm just so excited we are going to WDW for a few days after. We only have three days there so we have to decide which parks we will go to.
Not exactly panicking, but still feeling the pressure....
Do we find out before we go, what dining rotation we have?
Diet, I probably don't want to talk about it either. I had lost 5 lbs and then I just went away for the weekend at a quilt show and classes. I wasn't exactly good.........:guilty: But as I sit here waiting for my daughter to come home with a patty melt and fried zucchini sticks, I promise to start over tomorrow!:rotfl2:

Thank you for replying! The flight from Innsbruck over Frankfurt,Germany to Miami is about 12 hours in total. We will be in Florida for a little over a month. My family lives there so it will be nice. For some of them, it will be their first time seeing my son. They will also be joining us on the cruise.:)

Welcome to the group.

The snow you sent still hasn't arrived...I'm still waiting!! LOL
Thaks for the Welcome....see you on the 5th!;)

We won't know the dining rotation til we get our KTTW cards. It will say on them, but if you don't like what you got you can go and get it changed when you get on board.

We will have 4 days at the parks after the cruise. I think we'll spend the least time in MK since we got to DL here all the time. I'd love to spend a lot of time at Epcot and AK.

Blonde Giraffe is on my list for Key West also!

I'm going to start packing in April too, if I can keep the cats out of the luggage! I'm more worried about making/confirming reservations and checking in online for our flights. I'm afraid I am going to forget something since we don't travel. So, if I made my ressies online for my flights and they email me a confirmation, I just have to check in online and get a boarding pass when I get to the airport? and take my paperwork right?
I need to start making some lists and things!

That is what we have done in the past. Bring the confirmation note I downloaded off the computer and show it at the check- in counter.

I will try to wait until April to pack too! Occassionally I will find something and say, oh i need to pack this. And then I realize I have 102 days to go!:yay: only 102 days folks!!!!

what is the blonde giraffe? :confused3

I know the feeling on tha cats..i have toi zip ours up when i pack so they cant get into them. I do have some oddball things already packed in a small bag..like the travel razors, first aid kit, and things like that.i have those from previous trips that they just stay in a bag that all i have to do is grab it and throw it in the luggage. :thumbsup2

yeah diet didn't go to well last week but i am not giving up.:rotfl2: dd is down with a nasty sins infection and coughing so we been trying to get her well again.. may end up[ taking her to the dr. be the end of the week if she doesn't start getting better.

Does not seem possible yet to be almost in double digits..woohoo :cool1:

and 102 days sounds alot less then 3 months 1 week...although 13 weeks sounds even better.:rotfl2:

Since we are getting so close do you all wanna start discussing where and when we want to meet up on the cruise?? i know we was talking about right before the safety drill.. or maybe we can meet in a certain area like after lunch till the safety drill so the kids have plenty of time to play and such.. i don't know:confused3 I do know i have to go to the spa to book our massage when we get on board :headache: but i think other then that we don't have much going on that day other then dealing with the excitement of dd being on this cruise :rotfl2:

Thaks for the Welcome....see you on the 5th!;)

i tried but it stuck around us and seems to be keeping us in the bitter cold temps along with it.

:welcome: It's Veronica right? I think I remember chatting with you on the boards last March when I booked. Are you the woman originally from Florida who will be meeting extended family? Regardless, welcome!

I'm bummed that MickeyD (Lisa) and the GallaFamily can't join us. GallaFamily - congratulations however on the upcoming birth of your 4th child - how exciting.

Hope all is well with everyone. I haven't had a chance to read through all the posts from the past week or so, but I'm hoping to catch up.

I got home from work today and on the table all laid out nice and pretty by my dh was my brand spankin new copy of the passporter's guide to disney cruise line 2007..woohoooo:cool1:  i was soo happy to see this..i am already finding answers to some questions i had on key west and prices and such. such a huge amount of info in this book. sorry had to share.

I re-read my Passporter book last night to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything and double checking which excursions to do. I also read my WDW Passporter. I can't believe it's only 3 more months away!

The Blonde Giraffe is famous for their Key Lime pie. (on a stick)

After lunch and after we drop off stuff in our room we will be ready to meet wherever before the safety drill. That's really the best time because no one really has set plans yet. As for where....If you want your kids to swim we can meet by the pool, but if you want to keep them dry and meet the other kids, we can meet in the Promenade lounge. There is plenty of room there. I'm open to suggestions! You all have the small kids!

I am home now from my 3 mile (60 mins) power walk so i am ready to snuggle down and read mine.
Where is this place located? DH is making me call the bus system to see if they go close to the dock where our fishing trip is. so i will do that tomorrow.

doesn't really matter to me where we meet at. i am going to let my dd carry her swimsuit with us but time will tell if we actually let her swim before we set sail..more then likely prob not. what does everyone else think? any ideas?

Ok, you guys are making me cry....
Well...it isn't your fault, but I am so sad that I cancelled the cruise I can't stand it! I "thought" things were a certain way (how's that for cryptic?), then got a "surprise" in the mail and could have gone on the cruise. When I checked with Dreams (our travel agent) to see if I could rebook the same thing, they ignored me, so I went on Disney's site and it said the cruise is now over $1800 MORE than when I booked it! So now I can't justify rebooking...even though this is when I booked last years cruise.
The worst part is, I still am holding the plane tickets for Orlando! sigh. I may just bite the bullet and spend more, or get a lower category, but need to find a new travel agent since I am a bit peeved that Dreams blew me off so abruptly. :(

Anyway, I hope you all have a marvelous cruise...even if I don't get to go. (sob)

The blonde giraffe is within walking distance of the port. We went there last may and you just walk down the pier, turn left, walk down to "White street"?? I think is the name, and it is there. You will get a map of Key West with your navigators and it is on there.
