May 5th 2007 Western Magic CINCO DIS MAYO!

We finally got our package today! I was worried that we wern't going to get one since we are first time cruisers and we booked through DVC. Now I have new reading material.

Will anyone be in Disneyland from the 16th-21st? We have a trip planned and would love to meet some people before the cruise.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.:cool1:

We could be there then. We have passes. Just let me know your schedule when you get closer to your trip. Madisonznana also has a pass, so she might be able to get together too.

This is true! But I am going away next weekend to a quilt show/classes.
I would be able to be there after 11 on the 16th, or any time on the 17th & 18th.

that would be great exercise to walk the parks. Wish i lived closer to them:rotfl2: we have nothing but rain rain rain right now so i have to go to the ymca for my exercise. oh well.

Great job on the 4 lbs loss Karen. I am struggling this week myself and have a feeling i will gain this week but time will tell. and if i loose 10lbs and thats it then i would be ok with that. anything is better then gaining at this point :lmao: I have had to take the past few days slow though as my legs and shins have been hurting extremely bad :sad2:

KandyK...house does the DVC work? I have thought about selling both our timeshares we have that are outside of disney and investing into the DVC but just not sure if it would be worth it. Can you go to other places other then disney like with the regular timeshares?

I think she's not going til February unless her trip counter is wrong!

KandyK....let us know!

Piglet and Madisonznana-

Sorry, it is February 16-21. I'm just planning ahead. We should be in the parks by lunch time on Friday. Saturday is pretty full but after that we are open. I know it's going to be a real busy weekend (President's Day). So whatever works best for you guys. If you want to PM me we can figure out the best time for everyone.

BLOTH-

DVC is the best investment for Disney fanatics. We have been able to do so much, like this cruise. They have over 500 other destinations in the world that you can go to as well. Besides our Disney trips we are also using our points to go to Vegas in Nov. If you have any more questions let me know, I love to talk about DVC because I am still so excited about it!!!

Our weather has been crazy here. Tuesday night we got a couple inches of snow. Than Wednesday night we got hit with 5+ inches. It took my DH 4.5 hours to get home from work since the roads were such a mess. DS didn't have school Thursday or Friday. It's been below freezing ever since so the roads are one big ice rink. This is really not typical Washington weather. I can't believe I am saying this but I miss the rain. At least I can drive in it.:rotfl2:

I weighed in this morning and only lost 1lb. That's OK, I didn't expect to lose much this week since I had such a good week last week.

Kandy K....
Our weather has been crazy too. Last weekend it was in the 80's and this weekend low 40's to 65. They even had some light snow 20 minutes away from here! We stayed in tonight and had a fire in the fireplace, but DH likes to make bonfires in it and the screws holding the screen in place melted and the screen fell in. No more fires til we get that fixed now!

I'll let Madisonznana pick what day is best for her to come out because she has farther to drive.

Anyone going to book on board for the summer Calif 2008 cruises to Mexico? I am really thinking about it. Otherwise I will have to wait for the new ship to be built. I still keep in touch with two Disers from my June 2005 West Coast cruise (one from HI and one from WA). We'd like to sail together again some day. One is probably going to do the repo cruise and the other wait for the new ship. No way can we afford the repo cruise!

Keep warm!
Debbie

Sad news (for us), I had to cancel our cruise this weekend!

For various reasons, it just wasn't going to fit into our schedule. One being ds can't take the time off like we thought.

I wish you all happy and safe travels!

Tracey, you might want to delete Ryan from the mailing list.

Have a great day everyone!

Lisa

That is so dissapointing Lisa. I am so sorry, but I do understand about getting schedules together. I am sure there will be the perfect time for all of you and you will have a great time!
Karen

That is sad Lisa! I hope you are able to book another real soon. Maybe West Coast in 2008!

Hello Everyone!!!:wave2:

I really hate that we lost MickeyD, but i completely understand.

Tracy, I hear you on the shins. My shin splints have been driving me crazy and last Wednesday night I hurt my back really bad. Couldn't get out of the floor without LOTS of help from dh. I have no idea what happened. The chiropracter said I pinched something and he cracked the heck out of it. I was doing ok until we went bowling last night. Now I'm back on the heating pad. :sad1:

You guys would be so proud of me though. I have our Tink and Mickey Valentine cards and I took a pic of the kids and had 7 copies made of it today. So I'm ready. They will be there before valentines day, I promise.

I'm having a rough time at work right now with W-2's due out and tax season starting. I just lost my secretary and had to hire a temp that talks way tooo much. :hyper2: We weren't supposed to start overtime until next month, but now I don't know. That stinks since next Monday I have the Cheetah Girls concert with dd (Her birthday present) . And we have a new nephew on the way and the shower is in 2 weeks on a Saturday. This just makes me want that new job even more. Still haven't heard anything, but they said it would be 2-3 weeks before they even call for interviews.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Has anyone heard from Kim in Florida?

Later guys!!!

Okay, here is an update on our cruise plans. DH told me this morning we can stay a few extra day so that we can go to WDW. (oh no, I can't find my woohoo smilie!!:confused3 ) So today I booked us for 4 nights at the Port Orleans!! :woohoo: ooh I found it! We have never been before so I really have a lot more planning to do. But we are quite excited :dance3: I signed up for the meal plan, :scratchin not sure I have the whole idea of that yet, but I will ask all kinds of questions before!

Woo hoo! Maybe we will run into you there too! We are staying 5 nights after the cruise at the Wilderness Lodge. We've never been to WDW either!
So Sunday we plan to do AK, Monday Epcot, Tuesday MK, Wednesday either MGM or back to MK. We fly back Thursday around 1pm or so. Sunday at AK will be DH's birthday! :)

Anyone else going to WDW before or after the cruise?

Hey, everyone. It's been quite a while since I've visited the boards. I'm glad to see there are more folks with teenagers, but I'm sorry that we lost a few friends.

Anyone, it's soon time to book excursions, and I need some advice from anyone who has previously done the WC cruise.:coffee:

I've definitely decided to do snorkeling in Grand Cayman. How is the snorkeling in Key West for first-timers? Or is it better to just walk around Key West on your own?

We want to do an archeological excursion in Cozumel, and I can't decide between Tulum Ruins or Xcaret. :confused3 If you've done either, or both, I'd really appreciate your advice. Also, would we get back in time for our son to do the teen cruise in the evening?

Thanks.

:cheer2:

Not sure i can be of much help for you..my dd isn't old enough for most of the excursions so we are doing the ports all on our own. We havne't decided if we are going to let the teen do the teen cruise or not. Depends on everything else by then..:rotfl2: we feel strongly about having the ports as family time together and on the ship the teen will be free to do whatever between breakfast and dinner hours so that one is still up for debate.

Keep the advice coming re the excursions.
:goodvibes

Next question: What is the best time to get to the Port?

And a question for anyone who has traveled by car as opposed to flying:

We've decided to drive from PA, which will take about 15 hrs. We'll leave on Firday morning, 5/4. How far away from Port Canaveral should we stop for the night? We can drive straight through, as we have 3 drivers. I'm thinking, though, that it would be less expensive to stay at a hotel in Georgia, and then drive to Port Canaveral in the morning.

Thanks for any input. I'm getting pretty excited about this.:mickeyjum

We normally try to get to the port early but that is mainly because of the kids and such.
As far as driving we are driving down from ohio and it is a 17 hr drive roughly. there are two of us driving and we have 2 kids (15 and 4)..normally we would drive down the day before but this time we are driving down on thrusday ( driving overnite) getting there friday morning..we have reservations at the radison in cape canaveral for friday nite and we will take the shuttle from there to the port... We have found this system works for us as we are up all nite with the drive but then we can all get a good nites sleep before starting the cruise and we are already in flordia the day of the cruise instead of in route of getting there.
