Lostgirls: last year I purchased tickets in January and then in march they went down by half so if I can offer any advice, it is to wait it out til right before. We got our tickets already because we had vouchers from last years cut rate. So plane tickets this year cost me a total of $38 Now I can spend more on excursions.

I just read all 19 pages to get caught up. Am I correct in saying that we are going to meet on the first day and that we should wear something to identify us as a Diser? Sorry I'm a little s - l - o - w.

I wanted to let Great North know that I'm a fellow lapbander also. I'm 2 years out from WLS. We're in the 2nd dinner rotation, maybe we can split a kids meal. lol just kidding, I plan on getting rid of some of my restriction during the cruise.

Also, the galla family had ask if anyone else had small children. I have a ds that will be 4 in December. He is really excited about everything that he gets to do. Since he is my baby and there will be no more babies for me, he has led a "sheltered life". He only goes to daycare when his dad is at work, which is only 2 days a week since he is a and works a odd schedule.

That brings me to a ? Is there any reason that he could not wear his Class A uniform on formal night? That is if I can talk him into it. I'd rather him wear that than a tux, but didn't know if that sounded goofy.

Anyway...we're under 7 months on our countdown now. wooohooo

I work in a tax office, so once I hit January time will fly for me.

Sure he could...you might have to fight all the other women after him. You know how women find men in uniforms attractive!

That's good with me.Maybe around 3:15 to 3:30 before the safety drill. I have quite a few lime green things in my closet! We can see what's good for everyone closer to sailing date though.

I just checked my reservation and I have a category 11 guarantee. Is anyone else in this category. If we're going to receive an upgrade, when should that happen?

We have not booked our flight yet! This topic makes me very nervous. We are hoping the prices for a nonstop flight will go down a little before we book . Last year we flew AA to Disneyworld with a lay over in Texas our plane broke and our 1 hour lay over turned into fifteen it was horrible. Don't get me wrong I was was very thankful they discovered the electrical problem before we took off and we were all safe but it was a long day!! I think we will like just getting their in 5 1/2 hours rather than twenty!

The flight we are hoping to take is a direct red-eye flight on Thursday night with Alaska Airlines. It should put us in Orlando at 7:20 am. Then we have the whole day to play in Disney World. This also gives us plenty of cushin before the cruise for anything unexpected. We haven't booked yet, we are hoping the rates come down some after the holidays.

Same flight for us! We are planning on going to Blizzard beach water park for the day! We were at disneyworld over Thanksgiving last year and it was closed. It was the only thing we really felt we had left to do! Hope to see you on the flight, it will mean we were able to get a great deal!

I think we'll be flying out on Friday AM. It's what we did in May 2005 and it worked well for us. We stayed the night at the Hyatt at MCO and I'm so glad we did - it was really convenient for us.
I've never done a red eye with our kids (DD's 5 & 9). I worry what would happen if they didn't sleep. Plus we'll be traveling with my parents, and I don't think I could get them excited about that.

Hi my name is Karen and DH Bob and I are taking our DGD Madison (age 5 at time of sailing) on our first Disney Cruise on May 5th.
This will be DH and my 4th cruise and we absolutely love cruising. We are so excited!!
We live in So. CA. DH works in law enforcement, I manage a quilt shop and DGD works hard in Pre-Kindergarden.
We had a great roll call with CC on our last cruise. A large group. We wore green beads at the meet and greet. It was fun trying to put faces to names.
I spent the evening reading over all 20 pages of this thread and it looks like Madison will have some playmates!
Well I am here and anxious to share tips and hints. Any and all will be appreciated.

I sat here a few days ago and read every post to this thread and was very glad there were going to be so many going on May 5th. So I sit down to introduce myself and what happens??? You all leave me alone Was it something I said? Or are you all finished talking until the cruise?
Okay I will just sit here waiting hoping one day someone will pop in and say Hi Karen and add me to your list! It's not like I am impatient or anything....... but I am oh so excited about my trip and I would love to make friends before we go arty: Come on,I don't bite. I don't even nibble, I'm on a diet.

Hi! No, it's not you....it's that darn email notification thing that doesn't always work when someone posts to the thread! Anyways....I have a feeling it might get slow on here during the holidays, so no one dissappear on us. We might have to update the cruise list too to add the new ones and delete the ones not going with us after all.

I got the urge to pack the other day! Had to just calm down and tell myself it's not for awhile yet. I just know the time is going to sneak up on me! We have never been away from home for that long before. (2 weeks total with WDW after the cruise). I'm already worried about leaving the 3 cats alone for that long. (well, my sister will be checking in on them).

I have lists upon lists of things to pack, things to take, etc.....How about you all?

I NEVER get notified either. How is everyone? Where are you Sherri? Okay here. I love this little town we just moved to. They are even shutting down the schools early tomorrow so they can have thier big Homecoming parade. It's a big deal here. I guess the high school football team are big champs or something I'm still learning, but the whole town shuts down for this which I think is really neat because coming from Ft. Myers, there is about 100 schools in the county and its all school choice, meaning even though its public school, you have to apply to the school you want, so your kid may get bussed 2 hours away from home But here there is only one primary(k-1), elementary(2-3) intermediate(4-5),middle and high school. So this week has been spirit week. We painted Kaylin's finger and toe nails white and green, bought her a "As a matter of fact, the Suwannee Bulldogs are all that" t-shirt, green beads for the hair and glitter! I will try and get a pic up tomorrow if I remember how!
I was looking at someones trip report and saw the picture of the "Flying Dutchman" ship at Castaway Cay! I hope its still there when we go!
My husband works in Ft. Myers every other week so I'm here by myself, which explains the ramblin' on in this post I don't know anyone here yet and my dogs are even getting tired of listening to me I have although watched every episode of Hannah Montana

OH! You thought you were done wit me right Anyway, we live on 20 acres surrounded by all woods! Scary, dark woods Then, a neighbor down the road was telling me to becareful because there are coyotes here and how they ate his little dog! (I think he enjoyed telling me this a littlt to much) and what do you know, I have a weiner dog! I actually heard them howling the other night...did I mention ??? I told the dogs that I will let them out at dusk and after that they are gonna have to hold it! You should see mw with my spotlight on the porch at night What am I gonna do...shine 'em to death? Then my imagination gets the best of me so I don't sleep at night
Anyway...I should not bore you all anymore! Hope everyone has a fantabulous day...I have to go talk to the dogs now ...Just kidding...REALLY!!!

Hey everyone! Welcome aboard Karen and family!

I went to the local disstore yesterday and bought shirts for the family. I too would love to be packing right now instead of sitting here at work. Physically I'm here, but mentally I'm singing "M I C K E Y M O U S E" all day long. Can't help myself, I'm excited.

Also bought a cool travel bingo game while I was at "The Store". lol
It came with 4 boards, so that should keep us busy for a little while anyway.

I am happy to be here. Debbie, we met on another site! We just decided last night to go to Disneyland tomorrow. Well at least I did and I am taking my granddaughter. DH and I talked about getting a hotel for the night and he could meet us after work and then we could go on Saturday too. We are still working that out.
I too want to pack. I am so ready. Two days ago I was searching the net for pirate fabric. I thought I could make my DH a shirt for Pirate night. Still haven't totally given up costumes though.
Night time and the occasional nap time, my granddaughter's new favorite story is going on our trip. I have to start with....first we will get a ride to the airport etc. She is very excited too.
We have never be to WDW. We just didn't have the extra time this time so it will be the cruise only. I honestly think DH thinks it is exactly like Disneyland so no biggie Maybe one of these years. It's just so easy having Disneyland an hour away from us.
We I should get a few things done today. Glad you are all still here!

I have been so busy lately hardly on the computer. i cant wait to meet all of you. kim so glad you are finally in. watch out for the boogey man out there. several years ago i bought a lime green shirt from right here on the dis. of course with the dis logo on it, i will be wearing this on the day our cruise leaves so for the meet. so look for the crazy woman in the dis shirt jumping up and down. take care all have a great weekend.

Sherri-I would like to take a moment and thank you while I am lying awake by myself tonight thinking of the boogey man! And all these great looking scary movies are coming out and I can't watch any of them! I got scared watching a Goosebumps movie with Kaylin and had to ask her if we could stop it
Hmmm...crazy women jumping up and down on the cruise ship...I'm thinkin' there might be more than one of those...myself included...I'm just sayin'
