HI Karen, is your husband a Fireman? My husband is a sargeant for the Sheriff in Orange County (home of Disneyland!)
We have had a horrible fire here today. I think it is about 45 to 50 miles from here but the ash has been falling here all day, it's so hard to breathe and I think the sun was out today but we couldn't see it. They know for sure it was an arsonist and the reward is already set at $100,000. Four firemen died in their fire truck and a fifth is in critical condition. Unfortunately, because this is election time anyone who is running for anything is making statements. It's a pretty sad situation that they are taking advantage of free air time.
My husband's job is about 100 miles or so from the fire and they could smell it there. We are having those Santa Ana winds which it makes it hard to know in what direction the fire came from until you here the news. I am so ready for winter. (We really do not have fall here!) The winds bring the heat back and of course fires. One of the not great parts of California life!

But on a brighter note May is just right around the corner!!

I have been reading TR from so many different cruisers the last few days. One thing I have noticed is, several of them talk about decorating their cabin door. Is the door magnetic? Do you tape the decoration down? Any ideas?The trip is a while away, but we could have some fun designing door decorations! Come on, it could be fun!!

Yep. Magnetic. We didn't do ours last time, but if I have time and can figure it out I might this time. It would make it easier to find our room!

My son and his girlfriend just finished up with their jobs at Knott's Halloween Haunt. I'll put up some pictures later if he ever gets them email to me! She had her makeup done different every night. Their maze was a spoof on TV shows, so she was in the "Unhappy Days" room and he was in the "Fatman and Blobbin" room. Some of the other rooms were "I Loathe Lucy", "Pukes of Hazard", "Killigans Island", "The Fraidy Bunch", and "Sesa Meat Street".
