Would anyone be interested in joining a FB group if I created one? My hubby gets on the disboards often but I rarely have time to sit down on here. I'm on FB pretty much 24/7 because it's available quickly on my phone, so it would be nice to be able to chat on there as well. If you're interested, send me a message on FB (Kristie Schoenly Seem).

Did the FB group get created?? If not lets do it :)

Adult dining--panic not. You should be able to book this right after you board. Check the location for Palo Ressies on the Welcome Aboard Navigator--it is usually in one of the nightclubs. On the Dream you can also do reservations at Palo...don't know if this will hold true on our cruise.

Little kid excursions--St. Thomas Coral World. Check out their web site. There is a walk in underwater viewing area, aquarium, touch tanks where the kids can touch a sea urchin, nurse shark, etc. under supervision, snack bar, etc. Right across the parking lot is Coki Beach--a family friendly beach with good snorkeling. If you do Coral World you get a wrist band that allows you to go in and out all day to use bathrooms, etc. This is easy to do on your own, cabs are readily available at the port. If there is not one waiting at CW, the people in the shop will call one for you. You can sometimes get discount admission coupons on the CW web site or the tourist magazine that they hand out at the port.

St. Thomas butterfly farm is about a 5 minute walk from the port area. Also, internet is available for $3 all day--walk toward the cable car up the mountain. Right before the ticket booth is an Asian restaurant with wifi. It is $3 if you don't buy lunch, cheaper if you do. You'll find a lot of CMs here. There is a closer place in Havensight Mall, but it was in a bar and we didn't feel comfortable.

St. Maarten also has a butterfly farm. We like Little Bay Beach. Also, the kids might like seeing the planes come in.

This is major chill out time for us--you'll find us hanging out in adult areas (I suspect), shows, Aquaduck....not sure what else DD has in mind. Can't wait to find out which of our servers are going to the Fantasy. We made a head server request and know that he'll take good care of us. I have more info as to who is NOT going to be onboard than who is.

What I do know:
Captain Marcos (great guy!), Brent and Ray (CDs), Nelson is head of food and beverage, Cedomir is dining room manager. We were told that PJ will be Palo manager, but that info did not come from him personally--thus, I can't verify it.

Wow, I am awaiting a GTY cabin and this is as close as we've ever waited! Never thought it would bother me but I am little apprehensive, anyone else awaiting cabin assignment?

I am also on GTY status and waiting...checking every day but nothing yet! :surfweb:

I am getting excited, especially since it was -17 degrees this morning! Bring on the tropical weather :)

:lmao::rotfl: we'll recognize each other by our favorite CFL team t-shirts and our car's snow brushes tucked into our carry-ons!

OK! I will wear my Flutey Stampeders jersey (:worship:) and pack my NY Giants Superbowl Justin Tuck jersey from my trip to Indy in Feb!!!

Also you can follow the trail of the maple syrup and ice wine leaking from my carry-on :)...I think I just decided on my FE gifts!

Too funny.......sounds like a fun crowd!

I'm sure that packing advice isn't what you're looking for, but I will tell you that the BEST advice I have ever gotten for cruising was to purchase a cheap clear over-the-door pocket shoe organizer. You know the kind you get from wal-mart or target. Since the disney staterooms have two bathroom doors, I bring two and hook to the top of each door hanging on the outside. You'll be surprised at how much it helps with storage and organizing!! I keep everything in them from jewelry to sunblock to toothpaste and I let my girls have the bottom two rows for storing toys, stickers, etc.

I would LOVE to hear from others; What is the ONE item you will not cruise without??

Really it's 2 items, but Aveda Smoothing Fluid and my flat iron. The humidity does a number on my hair and no one should be subjected to what it looks like without those 2 things!!:scared1:

Gotta be the spray on Neutrogena sunscreen (non-oily) as I am forever chasing my kids/husband/father around with it and can be self administered while basking at the adult only pool :)

I love our over-the-door shoe holder too. Can't live without that :thumbsup2

The other is to have envelopes and put a couple of dollars in them for room service tips. I keep them in the top drawer closest to the closet and so they are super easy to grab and hand over, don't have to think about it. ;)

I could really use some help.....I mean LUCK! We have two cabins, one for (me, Kate and Matt) and another for my parents. I reserved the St John Island Tour as soon as the 120 window opened up and was able to get it reserved for the three of us. Since my parents are 1st time Disney cruisers their booking window didn't open until last night.

I logged in at 12:01 to add my parents to the excursion- guess what??? The ONLY excursion that was sold out was the St. John Island Tour. I called Disney concierge and found out that they only have 20 spots for this excursion - are you kidding me?! There aren't that many excursions that are available for families that don't want to do "beachy" activities AND Matt is only three - seems like most excursions require a child to be five. Only 20 spots for a boat with more than 4,000 passengers - on St. John - really??

If anyone has this excursion reserved and plans on cancelling it would be MUCH APPRECIATED if you could let me know so I can log in at the same time to reserve what you have cancelled - probably a long shot but I thought I would ask;)

Mike

Mike--just wanted to let you know that I checked on the St. John Island Tour this evening and there are openings!! I was able to get my family booked on the 8:15 am tour (it showed SOLD OUT when I tried to book a few weeks ago)!! :woohoo:

I contacted my TA (Tracey at DU) to ask about the dining rotations. Here is her email response:

Here is the dining rotation I just received from DCL (so it should be accurate!!)

1-R/A/E/R/A/E/R
2-A/E/R/A/E/R/A
3-E/R/A/E/R/A/E

Formal night is day 2, Pirates in day 4 and Semi Formal is day 6

Let me know which you would like to request.

I requested #2.:thumbsup2

Just thought some of you may want to make requests as well. :)

I requested the same dining rotation as well for the same reasons you did!! I have 2 girls and think it's a great choice!! :thumbsup2

Hello everyone!

I can't wait. It's our first Disney Cruise. It will be me, my husband, my parents, and my three sons ages 13, 2, and 1.

We are from Oklahoma and we can't wait to meet everyone.

Jessica
