Well, I've been pricing flights and such. Keep waiting for a good deal for Disneyland Paris for our travel dates...I have my guide books and have been pouring over the shore excursions. It feels like it is far away, but once Christmas is over, I'll bet the time will fly. We can book shore excursions in early February, so, really, it won't be long!

Hope more people join us...our ship seems so empty. Our poor thread only has a few pages (mostly just a few posters over and over, actually). On the other hand, a relatively empty ship might be nice.

ETA: Did everyone get their letter about the $100 per person OBC? Awesome! I will definitely put that to good use.

I havent gotten my letter yet. Why are giving us such a wonderful gift? Can we use it for tips? My cruise is paid but still have to pay my tips which is about $500.

Yes! You can use OBC for tips/Disney arranged excursions, arcade, gift shop, anything on the ship even the photopass or photo packages!!

Very exciting! I hope I get the credit and it's not for US residents only.

I've heard that it is only for certain Med/Baltic cruises (probably the ones that aren't selling out and not getting bookings for excursions) and for those that booked prior to 11/27..no mention of it being limited to locale...so I believe you're good! We just got our yesterday (being out in the country) and several received theirs on Saturday/Monday...bet you'll get yours this week!!

I hope so! the DCL agent I just spoke to was cluess to any of this! lol
The OBC will be a blessing as Im paying cash for everything and the tips alone are costing about $500.

We booked the same deal fitnessmouse. I'll just wait and see what happens. So far I only received the $25 OBC from DCL when I booked. Fingers crossed for us!

I booked on 11/19. Paid in full. I spoke to the DCL agent and asked if people who are getting these credits would have their DCL reservation reflect the OBC and she said "no they would have to bring the letter". Strange isnt it? Seems if OBC was awarded it would reflect on the reservation.
We'll just wait and see what happens. It's possible if Im entitled to it the letter's probably still in the mail. I didnt even get my confirmation for this cruise until last week.

Actually, I booked before 11/27, but changed to the lower fare on 11/28

I re-booked also but since the reservation number is the same I think it would still be considered the original booking date.

Hello! We are booked on this cruise and I can hardly wait! Just paid it off last week. We are telling the kids about it on Christmas. We have two daughters, ages 10 and 8. We sailed on the Magic only once before in November 2008. LOVED IT!!

I have been looking at shore excursions. Holy cow some of them are so expensive!! Any thoughts on which ones are the best?

I'm not doing a single excursion through Disney! I LOVE Disney but I'm also a big budgeter...sometimes the two do not work together! I've read a lot about the different ports and for us, hiring a driver on the Naples/Pompeii/Amalfi Coast was one to splurge on...it runs anywhere from 450-500 euros for the day...the rest of them we're planning on doing on our own, for Rome I plan to hit the Vatican early in the day (prebuying tickets) and then possibly hiring a driver for the 2nd half of the day...for La Spezia we plan on doing Cinque Terra by ourselves...we have two girls that are 10 and 11, they'll love knowing there are more girls on the cruise! I started a trip report where I've cut and pasted comments from people who have written about some of the ports...it's helpful information, my trip report is Madly Making Memories in the Mediterranean...or something close to that..

We're also doing Fish Extenders for any interested, it's fun for the kids!

Welcome!

I'm also not booking any Disney Excursions or any other for that matter.
Im travelling solo with three young boys so we'll play it by ear most the time. I'm planning on the beaches in France and a cheapy day trip to Roma and we'll see what happens in Napoli. I'm not at all keen on Tunisa or Malta so we'll be spending a lot of time on board.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and I hope you're all looking forward to a very happy, healthy, 2010!! Roll on May 5th!!!
